- For Christmas I bought myself my first EVER Lego set!! And I would like to build it together with you today 🌸 I'm absolutely obsessed now and I am refraining myself from running out and buying like 20 more sets and going broke!

One thing that might explain the frogs is that Lego is known for reusing injection molds of parts from other sets as something totally different. For instance they use a telephone receiver from one set as pipes on the deck of the Titanic set. They also hide easter eggs in some of the sets that are a throwback to a different set.
The lego mantis has revolvers for claws lol..
The reuse of these parts is mainly to reduce costs. Creating a new mold is expensive and not worth to only do for one or a few sets. Everything else they say is PR bullshit. Although being by far the most expensive brick brand, Lego obviously intends to cut costs as much as possible. That starts with cheap boxes as packaging and sadly extends to their bricks. The color variations in same colored bricks became pretty bad in some sets. One of the worst things is the use of stickers instead of prints. That is especially unacceptable in sets that cost several hundred bucks.
There are several other Brands that offer similar or better quality for a much better price. Every brand that uses Gobricks bricks can be recommended, like Pantasy and Mouldking. Cobi is also very good, but i don‘t know in you can get it in the USA, because it is the only brand that produces in Europe and not China.

@@Lee-nq6mhThey're way overpriced than people think. People believe it costs $10+ to add another minifigure or another piece when it actually adds fractions of a cent. Lego has done a great job gaslighting consumers into thinking their products are costly to manufacture.
And 'modularity' is a key property of legos, people used to mash together all sorts of things to come up with their own - sometimes the pieces just aesthetically/functionally fit. This set, could be added with any other set. It's part of the fun and introduces engineering qualities by building with components.

I am equally surprised at myself hahaha. To be honest, I've always just balked at the price of Lego, I always said "one day, not today". And then when it went on sale, it was finally the day!

I think you'll LOVE the modular building sets. They're freaking expensive but you get to build a true to life three story building with all kinds of little details and scenes and minifigs. I've been collecting them for years, so now I have a full street of modulars showcased on a shelf.

I'm making it my mission to crochet something every week this year- I'm calling it my 52 week crochet challenge. I did 2 platypi (idk if that's how you spell it lol) and I have decided that they are besties and I did a turtle as well and am working on a friend for him, I'm having so much fun!
The little pink frogs cracked me up I was literally laughing at your reaction lol it's so odd, like honestly why would they do that??? This was so relaxing and definitely made me want to get a lego set. I swear everytime you do a new crafty thing I'm like I need to try that! legos are the number 1 most addicting thing
From mild research it seems those are indeed frogs and the most amount of frogs used in a set (101?!!?!). Also the first time pink frogs were even made. The reason seems to be the person who designed this set has a... "calling card" of sorts where they include at least 1 or more frogs mixed into their sets in some way. I don't know why there are so many pink frogs outside of potentially good luck symbols or just because they could but yeah thats all the research I found in "The Case of the Lego Frog Pieces."

Lego only makes specific pieces/bricks in a certain colour and they do not have every colour for one piece, hence the green leaves and the pink frogs(they probably don't have a pink leaf piece)
