    Would have expected a bigger difference between the regular and GTX. Also would have liked a higher towing capacity.

  • @krane15
    @krane15 Před 3 měsíci

    It needs a power wheel and tow hook for the GTX. When I step up to a higher trim those are the types of extras that make it worth the cost. More power accessories over the manuals.
    At least it got past the turquoise blue pipping on every model for color that better matches the car. It still could used some more contrast on the interior. The lower trim is brighter and more airy than all the monotone gray of this GTX.
    I'd recommend the smaller infotainment screen as this one is way to massive. It might be passable if it were lower down but not high up like this one. It detracts from the view outside the car.
    Anyway, for the cost and level of the higher model it shouldn't have to have all those budget car reminders right in your face.

    Will Australia see any I.D models at all. No word on them coming. The price of the I.d Buzz short wheel base is rumoured to be A$100,000. This is simply unaffordable for most people out there. Our charging infrastructure is abysmal, and our power supply is collapsing. We have no Nuclear power here. Maybe that's why VW still sends ICE cars to us. Nice cars and great review. Cheers.

  • @RubmaLione

    Why are they pushing themselves upmarket and competing with their sister brand Audi? Wouldn’t it make more sense for an electric A6 to start around this price? I just struggle with the idea, especially knowing the US market, of an American purposely buying a VW this expensive.

      Base Model 3 for 40k € is more efficient, with a bit worse range, less space, yet much sportier to drive and has a lot more kit. The long range version is still way cheaper at 50k, and beats it in every metric except space, and perhaps luxury if you really pimp out your ID7, but then you're paying 20k more...

      If you wanna stay with Tesla, a more fitting candidate instead of the Model 3 sizewise would be the Model S (Model S: 4,97 length vs ID7: 4,96 m length), which currently starts at nearly 95k here in Germany.

    The car looks really good, I'm surprised more about the keyfob, since that's a keyfob I already have for my Skoda Octavia RS from 2021. Would seem a bit odd in my opinion when you have a more futuristic car than a 2021, to use the identical one in looks.
    Still the range is a reason to why I remain with petrol/diesel. I drive once a month approximately 3.000KM to visit family or go to Switzerland for a longer weekend/ which would mean I'd still need to make 3 stops instead of 1 stop when I look at it. Then filling with petrol is just a lot quicker, which would imply the duration of the drive would be extended by 1 hour (when already driving for approximately 11/12 hours that makes a massive difference on tiredness levels.
    Overall if it would achieve a range of lets say 800km (in the future) I'd be more interested in purchasing an EV, but that's something that currently isn't possible yet.

    A frunk is important. Having the charging cable under all the luggage gets old quickly. I usually end up having it in the rear footwell for that reason. The VW can tow only 1000kg, and 1200 with the GTX in The Netherlands but not enough for me. In Germany it is strangely1200 and 1400kg, what the hell? Why is that? Overall, the VW is an awesome car. Why do you and other 'experts' continue to slide your finger and overstate this with your videos. You do know that you can also just touch the 'slider' at any point to adjust the temperature, just as if it was a button. You DO NOT have to slide your finger. Unbelievable how this 'BS' has been going on for years and years. I find it comical. Other than that I always enjoy your videos.

    These vent directions control via infotaiment are rubish. What I do not like, that both ID7 and ID3 GTX for example have the same design wheels, and there are many more bits that are quite similar/the same. Not a fan of this. I prefer, that between classes the vechiles are differentiated, that you could feel and see why you pay more :) Also the quality does not look surprising.

      @@user-fp1vm5ev1u Actually, it is not more practical. Although the numbers may suggest otherwise, the shape of the Model Y doesn't allow for efficient space utilization. Recently, Bjorn Nyland conducted a banana box test to measure the capacity of the ID7 saloon and found that it fit the exact same number of boxes as the Model Y with the seats up (9 boxes) and only 2 fewer boxes with the seats down (24 boxes vs 26). If the regular saloon car can already match the Model Y, then this estate version will most likely surpass it with its improved capacity.
