I always used to download all music I listen to, but yesterday I bought the album Maskineri by Kaizers Orchestra, out of respect for the band :) It's the first CD I ever bought in my life, awesome eh?
@Shnitzel47 its funny you said it, I actually bought maestro too about 3 weeks ago! But I bought it in a shop, I don't know why, but for some reason they sell kaizers orchestra here in holland !
I wanna know how the vocals were done. Clearly nothing overly special, but the reverb is perfect, and the vocals sound so smooth. I wonder what kind of mic.
+8R014V If you are thinking about the part that starts at 2:22 he sang that two times, one time normaly, and one time with a higer pitch, and they used them both. And it sounds amazing!

I was born in a generation where downloading is normal, though at some point I realised that buying the music is fairer, so recently I've been buying more albums, also because having a physical copy of the CD has more value after all. You could consider it a piece of art in a way.

@sturenorth You would probably still have it a bit difficult to understand all they are singing since they sing in different accent. The norwegian newspaper Aftonposten thought they were a swedish band from Skåne (special accent as well), but keep i up, you will understand most of it. Greetings from Sweden
Yeah They're definitely awesome, but like only Nrwegian people listen to them you know, we're just exceptions.. so the lame thing is that they barely ever come to Holland for example D: .. they were here like a few years ago, but back then I didn't even know them yet, Quite depressing.. But once they'll come here or in Germany or something I'm going to their concert with a bunch of friends :) for sure

@fradrig Hmm, I think your languages are just more alike, so that might explain their success in Denmark. But it's awesome! I'd love to go to one of their concerts, I still haven't seen them, ever... But those are just future plans! ^^ I'll see what happens

Yeah, thats true. But it would just sound too fake. Kaizers lyrics are amazingly well written (the best in Norway imo), but I doubt their quality would translate that well into English. Janove released a solo project in English, and the lyrics where far from as good as his Kaizer lyrics. If that is an indication of what we could expect...

I know a lot of you keep saying that it's the language and the dialect that make them so special. But I do think if they sang in English, they would be world famous by now. if that crap black metal from Norway is really popular how this couldn't be?

Kaizers var lidt bedre i starten, hvor de var meget "syrede" især live! Det var fedt, men det her er bestemt også godt:)
I thought their accent was more akin to Dansk than anything else? At least that's what the jackal said in an interview I saw.

Weil norwegische sprache nicht so weit von deutsch ist. German have influenced some of the norwegian dialects alot. Especially the Bergen dialect.
