Gosh. The fact every single frame was made by hand with no digital appliances makes the animations even more gorgeous even today. I find it more impressive than 3D animation itself
I agree, not all humans are cruel. But some people who are cruel, dogs can get behavioral problems if they were raised by bad people. That’s what animal shelters are for, to rescue animals from bad people.
I guess Jock is just lucky to have a good owner, and unfortunately can't empathise those with who have had harsher experiences. While I admire his loyalty as *man's best friend*, the sad thing is that Tramp is right about some humans being nothing but cruel to animals. 😔 It's a pity these two can't see the other's side in this issue. 🙁 It's also a pity that Lady is caught up in both sides without knowing which side is going affect her.
I actually came here to see these wonderful head and body turning animations on each character, especially when I try paying attention to animators such as Frank Thomas and Milt Kahl.
i am studying animation and sometimes i, too, come to look at this for the same reason. Im telling you, animation back then was out of this world. one of the rrasons this movie is my favorite.
It’s all in the character construction. The characters are built of basic shapes (spheres planes, cylinders) which makes the characters easier to turn in space. It’s like 3D animation, but the 3D model is in the animator’s MIND, not in a computer.
I remember knowing a couple who had a female golden cocker spaniel with distinctive markings, she was called Lady, a grey schnauzer/border collie crossbreed called Tramp and a Scottish terrier called Jock and I they looked like them, not a little bit either, excatly like them.
None of them bothered to ask how he knew about the things he was saying. Never bothered to question if he had experience. Just assumed he was a crazy mutt that didn't know what he was talking about bc they lived pampered lives with rich families. It's sad that he tried to warn them and was met with aggression
I think it's more likely that Jock and Trusty's owners had children, but the dogs were treated well (the two speak as if they've had experience in a household with babies), and they think that Tramp is just exaggerating when he tells them about what will happen when the baby arrives. It's possible that Tramp may have actually lived in a household where a couple had a baby, and he got booted out (or eventually left on his own), because he wasn't wanted anymore. I think that all these dogs just had different experiences regarding living in a home with babies!
Like the other comments said, it’s cuz they were pampered dogs living in a high society. Tramp definitely knew what he was talking about (which is why he said he was speaking from a voice of experience). His previous owners must have abandoned him after they got a baby and was living on the streets since then ): But he managed to survive and had a good life with Lady in the end 💜
0:41 omg I realized that Tramp just called Jock “Buster” which in Lady and the Tramp II, Buster was Tramp’s old friend until he met Lady and decided to have a family
If only Jock and Trusty knew, not all dogs get a luxurious life like they have, any family less fortunate than them usually won't be able to afford the dog if a child comes in, not saying their advice wasn't wrong it was only part of what Lady needed to hear, both sides needed to be heard.
I really like here that the butterflies don't fly between the two right away. So rare for romance films of any kind, but especially those with kids in mind.
The moment I saw the thumbnail I recognized it being the 1987 VHS by the colors. Better-looking than the 1998 VHS, but then you have that pan-and-scan job on the Cinemascope print, compared to the 1998 VHS using the Academy ratio 4:3 print prepared for non-widescreen theaters. Regardless, the 1987 VHS is the version I grew up with. LOL at Tramp barking happily at Jock at 0:57!
I don't know Tramp, when I was a baby and ever since my mama gave me to my grandparents just so that she could go work on herself, they somehow managed to afford to take care of me, our dogs, our cats, our birds and our fish.
“Pigeon” at least used to be a slang for a young, attractive woman (I doubt it still is). That must be why the Tramp calls Lady “Pigeon” (or “Pidge” for short).
Tramp: you take the baby out to the backyard for him to play sees a cute creature for instance a mouse (Squeakers blushes of bashfulness) Tramp:JUNIOR YOU COME AWAY FROM THAT FLITHY FLITHY RODENT!!!! (Squeakers gets hurt and shock)
Tramp looks like a jack russel and a snchauzer cross because he has the jack Russell ears and the size of a Snchauzer and the color he looks like one to me

I love Tramp's acting. He's so funny. And he has some of the best lines in the movie.
little did Lady know...
she met the love of her life that day
Poor ol' Tramp, I never realized how poorly he'd been treated by humans until I grew up.

@@JoMarieM well they three can talk from experience. Two of them had luck to their owners and Tramp didn't.
There's always someone out there who's feeling a need to give voice to an empty sterile polemical such as class consciousness.

0:41 omg I realized that Tramp just called Jock “Buster” which in Lady and the Tramp II, Buster was Tramp’s old friend until he met Lady and decided to have a family
In the Italian dub, he calls him "dad", I think it's like to say "old man".
buster in this context actually is a mildly disrespectful form of address for a man. i say it fits the Tramp to call him that.
I would laugh till I cried at that "stop that racket you'll wake the baby!" line.
Jock's reaction still gives me tears! 0:57

True, as far as I know, there's two sides to every story.
"When a baby moves in, a dog moves out"
sadly the truth for many dogs out there, on the street and in shelters.
I really like here that the butterflies don't fly between the two right away. So rare for romance films of any kind, but especially those with kids in mind.

0:53 That part always made me laugh 😂😂 *YOUL GET FLEAS ALL OVER THE BABY!!*
XDD
1:48 Uh Oh! He’s Rolling those R’s
It wasn't until I got older that I realized that Tramp was right and Jock was wrong. Humans can indeed be that cruel and even worse.
"no human is that cruel" i'm crying
If they only knew
He's not completely wrong
The worst part is Tramp’s not wrong, just wrong about Lady’s particular circumstance.
My mom thinks that Tramp had owners, but that those owners had a baby, Tramp was given away. She could be right.
More like abandoned least the live action movie went with the theory n judging by Tramp he couldn't have been more than a young adult at most
1:36. Only people are different, Trusty. Not all of them like Dogs or any other animals. So Tramp do have a point.
0:49-0:50:
NEVER GETS OLD!

I just got a thought that Tramp definitely had a home before but abandoned him because if he knows about a baby then he definitely had a home.
I love that part when he goes like put that dog out he gets fleas over the baby and stop that racket you wake the baby it makes me laugh😂😂😂
Jock: No human is that cruel

The man at the pound in this movie isn't cruel. He's actually pretty gentle with Lady.
