Fun facts about this movie. It was filmed in Sonoma California (witch I happen to be from) and was shot around 2000/2001. I was a senior that year and spent a lot of time in the art,music,drama and computer department and would get to go off campus and see them film this movie around town. The mailbox love part was shot on “the square “ aka the plaza in downtown Sonoma witch is just up the street from the high school. The old couple you saw where the mayor and his wife. I dated there niece.

Talk about perpective: first time I watched this, the thought was: "they're using a prop orangutan because they wouldn't want to hurt a real animal." Now I'm thinking: "a real orangutan would've killed his ass."
As a small indian kid I loved this movie and thought of westerners to be the cool people who could make movies like these. However it was disappointing when I grew up and such movies were not around
