Tora Tora Tora, the movie, was 100% Japanese American co-operation. It was the best movie ever made about Pearl Harbor. Unbiased, factual, to the point. Superb Japanese and American actors. The likes will not be seen again.
May 1, 2022---Live in Reno, NV. and the air races are held at Stead. Used to go to it every year as BIL was a fireman and he'd get free tickets which I gladly accepted one of 'em. 1995 was the 50th anniversary of the end of WW 2, with a lot of the planes used in this movie being there and doing an "attack on Pearl Harbor" scenario. One thing I learned about the air races is to go BEFORE they start their qualifying runs because then, ya gotta pay for it. But going before this happens, I got a lot of great shots, including detail shots of the engine on T-6's for example, with their cowlings removed. Skip forward a few years later and got to see my first REAL A6M5 Zero just as it was being pre-flighted to head back to wherever. Not all planes take off for home on Sunday after the air races are over and once again, NO crowds. As it took off into the air, it wobbled from left to right and that's when I remembered the pilot had to manually pump the landing gear back into the fuselage,

Do they have the vals Kate's and Judy bombers ?
I believe I saw those that day but I didn't take pictures of everything so don't quote me on that
I can see a plane with fixed gear landing at 0:08 and 1:10 with attached torpedo so probably these are val and kate but i'm not sure.
