    • @ItsBinhRepaired

      Looks like an m.2 pcie nvme 2230, but those are super expensive for higher capacities like this amzn.to/2TormFS so I would recommend using the 2.5" sata slot instead and getting something like this. amzn.to/3kuwJOW it's really up to you though. The pcie nvme should be a bit faster, but I don't think it justifies that price difference.

      I'm always surprised when people ask for help to count. XD You can use a usb nvme enclosure to do it. The other option is to clone to a data drive then install the SSD and clone again.

    Hello. Thanks for they clarity of description and explanation in this video. This might sound like a daft question, but I really have no idea about this stuff. My 7440 has a 256GB SSD. Am I able to simply install an additional 2.5inch SATA drive to increase storage?

    I can install 120GB xbox 360 sata 2.5 inch drive into this optiplex 7470 in the hard drive disk bay, right?
    In the service manual, it says to not only turn off computer and remove electrical outlets and remove network cables first (which are pretty obvious steps to me), but then it says to open the display, hold the power button for a few seconds, and remove the express/smart card before removing the stand. What does opening the display mean? Where is the express/smart card? Did you do any of those things before taking off stand of your desktop? Do I need to do any of those other steps prior to removing stand? Why does it include those other steps?
    What do I have to install/uninstall prior to inserting my xbox 360 2.5 inch sata drive?
    What else do I need to know?

    Hi, I'm looking for resetting the password of the BIOS, the admin-password. I want to change the boot-order of the machine. In your video at 10:30 you show the jumpers and some description on the board. I have here an Optiplex 7780 AiO, but I do not see these jumpers nor the description. I do have something like a chip (does not look like a jumper) which is labeled BIOS. What can I do? Removing the battery does not help.

    Where are your anti-static discharge precautions? You know when you scuff your feet across carpet and touch your TV you get a shock? The static discharge is easily 120 volts. It only take 5 volts of static electricity to damage a component. 5 volts you wouldn't even feel. You should have the PC on a mat, a strap on your wrist and a common ground to both connected to the ground on an A/C outlet. Also, you should avoid touching solid state the devices, especially the gold fingers as oil from your hands will be transferred and may easily damage a component.

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  Před 2 lety +6

      Working in the garage, no carpet, with flipflops, knee against a metal desk with a metal frame chair. Gold isn't affected by finger oils. It would only be an issue if the gold is scrapped off. I've never had an issue in the thousands and thousands of devices I've worked on. In fact, I've even fixed RAM issues by wiping them down and those issues haven't come back...
      I understand you want to take extra precaution, but don't worry, it's fine. Also, if the stuff were that sensitive, almost every custom built pc should be dead.
