I looked back over all of my quizzes on CZcams from the last two years and chose my favourite 200 questions, to make what I believe is the best, biggest mixed general knowledge trivia quiz (of this kind) currently on CZcams.

By the way, regarding question # 178, Hawaii is the "50th state" of America, and this is where the world's largest active volcano is located, said volcano is called "Mauna Loa", just to be specific. What is another name for smoked haddock? -- Question asked on google.
The finnan is also sometimes known as finnan haddie or Findon Haddock. The English word haddock is used in France to describe smoked haddock, particularly the finnan.

Thanks for commenting. Although a kipper can be any smoked fish, it's usually a herring. And that's what I meant to write. Somehow I managed to change it to haddock, god knows how that happened. My bad, I know the difference between a haddock and herring. It should have read herring. Humble apologies.

129/200 = 64.5% Pretty normal result for me.
The quiz was very invigorating and lost count … about 150 approx were correct..I did this yesterday too
I got 140/200 but I had a blast! European history kills me everytime
I'm all ready to type in 95/100 (I was dumb about the Pyramids, melonballers, Earth's rotation, baby vitamins & our water content) then I saw there was still 100 to go. OK. I'll edit this when I get back...I got 10 wrong in that second half so 185/200. I checked that hottest temperature, which is a bit of a tricky one. The Libyan one in the Sahara desert was disqualified over dubious recording methods which have also cast doubts on the Death Valley measurement, but for some reason they have let that one stand. Interestingly, because it is so near to the Sun that all planets revolve around, ALL the planets have Mercury as their nearest planet by average!
Oh, and Cornish, Boo Boo and no, I've never used a slide rule for the bonuses! 😉
Lost concentration between 51-100 and ended up with 176/200. Bonuses Cornwall for the pasty, Booboo is Yogi's sidekick, and maybe Mauna Kea for the volcano. Good quiz as always

Oh yes, Mauna Loa is bigger than Mauna Kea, but appropriately Loa is lower! Kilaueu Crater (I've probably misspelt that) is the one that is constantly erupting.

Smoked haddock is most certainly not a kipper.
A kipper is a smoked herring, one of my favourite breakfast dishes in the winter
There are many words for various types of fish, fresh, pickled and smoked. A dangerous question for someone to ask who is not fully researched.
Various cultures will have names for smoked haddock. Smokies in Arbroath, Scotland.

@@Quizzes4U Hello Ben! Realised I hadn't finished this when it popped up. The Eclair is made with choux pastry... which is "puff" in English... the same thing, la même chose. Thought you'd get that one by me, did you? Cheers!
@@francescaemc2 Actually puff pastry is not the same as choux at all. We use puff pasty for things like sausage rolls. It's more buttery and flaky than choux.

I used a slide rule in 1967-68 when I took chemistry in high school. Calculators are much easier. I almost passed. I got 137.

To be honest, 193 my result, someone thanks to the knowledge of Italian (some of the questions in fact I translated them mentally)... The only flaw in these quizzes, which I personally notice, is the lack of questions about music in general, from today's songs in the top, (to give an example), to the other obscure facts of the subject.
Another topic, but here perhaps I am slightly mistaken, that is underrepresented is sports, in which I believe there are also trivia facts to be asked, in addition to questions like "the area of the soccer field" (another very trivial example)
