I’ve had an oak butcher block countertop for 10 plus years and absolutely love it. It does have some markings on it which can be sanded out. I’d choose it all over again. If making choices for the home, I check out Pinterest. Then go through your saved photos. It will give you an idea of what your preference is. Happy pinteresting 😊🇨🇦
I would absolutely choose soap stone over the granite. It’s not as busy as granite and it is a vintage statement and worth the time to install 😊 So glad to hear that karrie is coming back soon. Have really missed her channel and her postings The horse lithograph or etching is very charming
Hi Sarah! Love your channel! Smokey tugs at my heart…I’m a crazy cat lady! Love those paws! Thank you for sharing him in your videos! I would most definitely go with the soapstone! I chose a slab that had some whitish veining but not busy at all, mostly black. Yes, it certainly is a considered purchase! But I know I haven’t regretted making the purchase! Soapstone elevates your kitchen in a simplistic way! They would be a perfect match for the style of your home, which is absolutely beautiful! I love each transformation you’ve made along the way! Can’t wait to see the kitchen makeover! 🙏🤗❤️
Your home is so beautiful whatever you do to it. The candlesticks are a perfect accent. Can’t wait to see your new chairs and I really can’t wait to see the start of the kitchen redo!!
The little candlesticks are so cute😊 If you find some tiny candles, please share..i have a pretty etched brass candlestick that also needs a tiny candle and I've had no luck finding one🫤 The basket with the pothos looks so good hanging from the peg rail! It's quite funny, when Smokey was bathing, mine kitty was laying on the foot of my bed doing the same thing😄 I was just telling her she needed to get on the floor right when you shared! Guess its just that time of day😄 I absolutely love that cutting board❤ Not sure what's new.. maybe the bookshelves or secretary?🤷♀️ I love the secretary, soon as we move into a bigger home I'm going to be looking for one! Excited to see the new chairs, i hope their perfect for you! Enjoyed, TFS😊
Sarah…love the pretty little water you used to water your plant and the candlesticks. It’s the little things! I would go with the soapstone in the kitchen someday! Looking forward to the next one!
Everything looks beautiful. Glad to hear your sister is only taking a break. I have no idea what is new. I’d have to see a wider view for it to catch my eye. lol. ~ Janet 😘
Sarah, as always, every thing you do is beautiful! Such simple, but very elegant touches! I love the brass hooks in your entryway! Can’t wait to see your new chairs! 🧡~Cindy
Hi Sarah! Love the entry. It gets better and better. Can’t wait to see your new chairs. I’m wanting to redo my kitchen counters also. For a few years now. Considered several options but for sure thinking stone. Soapstone is one of my favorites. My kitchen is not Hugh so I think the cost is well worth the enjoyment of it. I think it’s a timeless look. And I love being and doing in my kitchen. I love yours and can’t wait to see what you do. ♥️
Hi Sarah, Cats have the best feet - their little pink pads that like jellybeans. I have no idea what is new unless it’s the book shelves.🤔 Happy days🦘🇦🇺
Hi sweet friend Sarah, Wishing you a blessed and happy Monday. Smokey is soo adorable. Luv all ur new items. Your home is more beautiful with each addition. Luv and blessings to you and the family, Bob and Lisa ❤🌼💝🌈🦋🇺🇸🤓
Hi Sara, I just recently watched Andrea's CZcams video at pine and prospect home about changing out her countertop in the kitchen. She too said she loved soapstone but it was expensive. So she chose a honed granite that looked similar to soapstone but cost alot less. You should watch that video. I think it may help with your decision on the countertop. Hers turned out gorgeous. Love your videos, so relaxing and inspiring.
I thought the beautiful green barrel chairs looked totally amazing in your cottage!!!!! I sure do miss your big thrift halls like bk in the day. I am not a fan of change I try but just not me. If I purchase something big or do a big home renovation I have to be satisfied with it. Have a great rest of your week see you next Monday!!!!
New Castle,PA where Shenango Pottery is my home town. The pottery went out of business years ago so that was an amazing find. Shenango pottery is not always easy to find. Enjoy them 😊
Another fantastic video! Your home and decor is so beautiful and inspiring. I get lots of ideas from you and am going to be redoing the decor on my french provincial dresser similar to yours in your bedroom. I was just checking out Karries channel yesterday's and rewatching old videos, wondering as well. Glad to hear she is well! I look forward to both of your videos. Cant wait for your kitchen makeover ❤❤
I had soapstone countertops and I wouldn’t do it again. Too much maintenance. Instead, you should look for honed black granite they make to look just like soapstone but it’s easy to care for. It’s beautiful! Good luck!
Hi Sarah - I love the look of your beautiful home. You have such great taste, and I am always inspired when I watch your videos. I do have one question that is unrelated to this particular video. . . . . I really like the mattress pad or cushion that you have placed on your living room sofa cushions. Did you make it? Would you mind sharing with me where you found it? Thank you Sarah! Denise
Could the new item the fuzzy white rug? I recently decorated our fireplace mantle with one picture leaning against the wall and the second one in front of it. I need one more item and will "shop" my house. Thank you for the inspiration! xoxo
Hi Sarah, I didnt like those green chairs in that space from the get-go. I loved the ones that were there, they matched the vintage style of the room. I hope you like the new ones that you ordered, cant wait to see them. I return so much stuff too,but I literally need to see something in the space to know if it will look right:/
In my opinion, if you've loved soapstone forever, then nothing else will do. I can promise you that once you do it; you won't regret it! It's just hard pulling the proverbial "trigger" and spending that kind of money, but I always say, "Do it right the first time, and you won't have to waste time and money later doing what you you wished you would've done to start with!
I LIVE IN MARION OHIO! How funny our world is so small. yOU COULD MOST LIKELY USE SMALL hANNUKAH CANDLES. I bought a couple of boxes one year after Christmas at Walmart....
Bless your heart, there just ain’t nobody home! Are you doing countertops or a haul. What goes on in that head. Why on earth would you repot that plant indoors!!! What a mess
Smokie is so beautiful. The rack in your foyer is new! Like the candle sticks even without candles. Can't wait to see the new chairs.

I've been wondering about your sister. Glad for the update. I love the idea of a basket hanging with a plant! I'm going to copy that.

Don’t compromise and get the soap stone or back honed with white veining, you will love it
It’s so expensive, but it would be worth it.🖤

Birthday candles should work in your candlesticks
Great idea!

Like the Cat, she’s great especially at the end of the video(I forgot her name)…
Smokey, and he’s a spoiled!😂🥰
Smokey of course…
Were the hooks new?
No, they are from Magnolia.❤️
I love your videos, but I think it’s funny that you refer to your stucco house as “the cottage”. 😂
It’s what am making it. It’s just a slow process.❤️
The oak desk?
I still have it.❤️
I LIVE IN MARION OHIO! How funny our world is so small. yOU COULD MOST LIKELY USE SMALL hANNUKAH CANDLES. I bought a couple of boxes one year after Christmas at Walmart....
