- Today we're headed off to the Goodwill Outlet (AKA the Goodwill Bins). This day the furniture section was 50% off! Once we're done shopping, I'll share my thrifted home decor haul, and share how I upcycled and refinished some of the pieces and I'll share how I might style them.

I also love what you did with that wall vase, painted green and turned it upside down and transformed it into a beautiful metal Christmas tree. I think if I was ever in the Washington State area where your Goodwill Outlet is I would hire a UHAUL to bring back all the treasures I found. Unbelievably awesome finds. you have much more patience than I do when it comes to the stripping of the furniture and sanding. Everything you redid turned out great and fits into your decor. Gotta love the antiques you find at one tenth of the price you would pay at an antique store.

Chalkboards: Use old-fashioned chalk and scribble over every cm. Then erase. It will write better, erase better, and have a more aged appearance :D that's what teachers do with new chalkboards.

Cutting board got really good transformation! As for the chalk board, they sell chalk board paint. As well as chalk board clear coat, if you want to paint it any color using reg, paint, then give it a chalk board clear finish over. I had so much fun making different chalk boards, using decoupage paper, with clear chalk board spray. ))

The brass is gorgeous. I agree the top appears a bit blotchy but that is because I am also very particular. All really show that looking past the item to its potential.
I would darken the brass, it's a little bold.

Before you decide about the brass hardware...decide if you are keeping or selling it. If the latter, list it as is to see if you have someone that loves it as is. If for your home....what would you like them to be?

Both of those pieces of furniture are gorgeous after you did your magic!
Tip: Try the hardware in original condition on the finished painted piece of furniture, before deciding to shine it up. I prefer to keep the hardware with the original patina, but will shine it up if I don't care for the way it looks. Could save a lot of hours of work.
