      I can't wait for the snow! I want to be out there in my t-shirt plowing for the first time in my life. Normally I'm all bundled up and have ice running down my hat!

    I know someone who will be doing snow removal in a T shirt this year, and unfortunately its not going to be me 😂. We do have a plow on the 2006 f250 but the tractor just makes much easier work with the 8' pusher. Im really hoping the snow will hold out for a bit this year, The site work for the new building starts in November and the actual building starts in December

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  Před 2 lety

      You've got that right. I have heard these little heaters really heat up the cab. I've thought about a plow for our F350, but the maneuverability would be pretty poor. It would be like trying to plow with a school bus! :) Can't wait to see your new building progress.

  • @leokelly359
    @leokelly359 Před 2 lety +1

    I have the same heater it works good when its snowy and cold I will bring my tractor up from my shop and park it right behind my basement door because once you get the tractor warmed up the heater will boil you out of the cab on high
    only thing I did different was installed my heater on the other side

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for sharing! I think I'm going to really appreciate this heater. I've been plowing in the cold for decades. I actually thought about using the other side too - since it would be in front of the loader joystick, and wouldn't be on the open side of the cab. But the instructions all showed it mounted on the left side of the tractor (when seated). Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Cool video and product, I need the air conditioner version down here. I'm with you, I do the same thing, put off projects thinking they will be very difficult, finally do them and then hate myself because I waited so long only to find out it was an easy fit or install or whatever.

    Good video! That heater ought to make plowing snow a much better experience. Wish we got enough cold and snow to need a can and heater but alas, an AC would be a better investment for me.

      I do know that there are some aftermarket air conditioners out there for these older sub-compact tractors. I think they're a bit expensive and complicated to install. And I think they'd probably chip away at your horsepower a little bit. Thanks for watching!

      @@PurpleCollarLife yeah, I’ll probably never go that route with this tractor. Maybe when I’m older I’ll upgrade to a cab tractor but for now, this one will do. Thanks for the reply - it’s sure good to see your channel growing!

    I have a x738, with same setup, the fan seems weak and barely defrost half the window and I have top vent open. The only switch that works is small one by the heater and not from box on ceiling of the cab.

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  Před 2 lety

      My fan seems to do a great job getting the window cleared. Now - it hasn't been super cold yet. No mornings below 20F so far here in northwest PA. We'll see how it does on the REALLY cold days. When I installed the heater, I opted not to install the switch on the heater - and just use the switch on that switch panel. Thanks for watching! I didn't realize there was a cab for the X738!

    Nice install! What are the steps for disconnecting the hoses for summer cab removal? Thank you!

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  Před 2 lety

      Hi Ryan. There's no need to disconnect the hoses. I don't remove the cab in the summer. I just take the doors off. And when you install the shut-off valve like I did, it keeps the hot fluid from entering that heater core, so the heater doesn't put out heat. Thanks for asking the question!

      I can't find any BTU specs (probably depends on the operating temperature of your engine/antifreeze). But I have read that most people say it gets TOO hot. Maybe you could make it work with an open cab. :)
