I'm the farthest thing imaginable from a country boy, but thank God we had John Denver and his talent.
Im.also the fartherst thinng from a country boy. I'm a north east liberal but this the kind of thing that can bring us together. Thank god for John Denver
All good American has some country boy inside of him.... Or a country girl inside of her. THank God we will always have John Denver. Music never dies.
To be a real county boy, you need to be able to count you're teeth on one hand...✌️😁😁😁 ,And that's with two chewed off by the god damn dogs✌️😁
RIP John Denver (December 31, 1943 - October 12, 1997), age 53
You will be remembered as a legend
I was a rock chick growing up, but I always loved John Denver as a songwriter and entertainer. I was in the audience of SNL in the early 80s, and he sat down right next to me. I almost died.
If I could bring one person back from the dead to perform a concert John Denver is definitely on my short list of people that I would bring back he looks like he put on great concerts back in the day.
Thank God Im a country Boy 😁🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Gone too soon. Imagine how much more incredible music he had in him. We need him now more than ever.
Too Heartbreaking To Think Of All The Beautiful Music We Lost When We Lost John 💔
Growing up everyone loved Donny Osmond. I loved John Denver.
This was/is my parents first dance when they got married. Still one of the best songs ever. 40 years later.
I love the part at 0:47 when the lights turn on for his band mates and John Denver looks over and gives them a nod. That’s respect.
Thank you for recognizing this minuscule detail. It makes a big difference. Keen eye!
Best part about this is you don't have to be a country boy to like it.
Cause you go to the country when you have never gone there or never will again.
You wont ever forget it or fail to understand.
you left us too soon John❤ RIP ✝️✝️✝️😢
I remember clearly when John broke as not just a national act but a superstar. Despite the quality of his songs and voice his superstardom was so incredibly unlikely given the time and the other acts that dominated the music industry. What really put him over the top was his charisma. You couldn’t not like the guy!
God bless John Denver
I'm a country girl who grew up with John's music. I still miss him. The lifestyle he valued is needed now.
Howdy folks. . I'm not a country boy but i love listening to this kind of music. .😁👍 It brings back good old memory , specially when my grandma and grandpa taking care of us 😁👍👍
Springfield, Oregon,1977- 78, Larry's and Katie's, restaurant,5:am., biscuits and gravy.Every morning I'd put a quarter in the," jukebox and spin that tune, the beginning of our,12 hour day," thinnin' in the woods, close the bar down, get 2 hrs of sleep and back at it.Of course..." we were in our twenties!🎉❤❤
Londoner here what a great song
Gwavas B. farm boy here.- in1938 Gwavas was judged the most perfect sheep farm in all human history.

John Denver really put his whole heart into this song.... R.I.P.
I don't listen to country, but I absolutely love this song. It hits the spot 👍👍👍
THERE ARE SO MANY COUNTRY BOYS ALL OVER THE WORLD. I TANK GOD I´M A COUNTRY BRASILIAN BOY. (DEC/31 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. DENVER).
John Denver's love of skiing inspired my mom to take it up and that's how she met my dad :) If it weren't for John Denver, I probably wouldn't be here! I love his music!
John Denver really is, in his own way, truly exceptional. This is just a great rollicking song.
Somebody: I don't like country songs
John Denver: Hold my guitar
Pshh, 95 % of today's country "artists" wouldn't be fit to stand next to John Denver's grave, let alone be in the same room with him when he was still with us. This was before country/western music went in the toilet.
No expiration date for his music...
He was the best of all times and still will be the best for the future generations.
Best country music guy like ever?
Immer wieder schön zum ansehen
I'm a huge hip-hop head but I also love jammin to John. Am I the only one?
I'm a city boy but this songs make me wish I was a country boy
Watching on John's 80th. RIP
Mr. Deutschendorf sure knew what he was doing, and did it well.
Today 31st December 2023 Would Have Been John's 80th Birthday Happy Heavenly Birthday John We Miss You 💔
As soon as you hear 1 John Denver song your hooked, god damn he was good.
He Sounds better live. Regardless of what type of music you enjoy, this talent and ability to get the crowd involved is amazing and that guy with the deep voice in the background compliments amazingly. Good wholesome music right there.
YES SIR IM A COUNTRY BOY FROM NORTHUMBERLAND ENGLAND
I am sure John and Troy are singing this in Heaven
An All American Simplicity and Innocence From A Bygone Day Which I Find So Refreshing in These Times !!!...John Was A Breath of Fresh Air , Everytime You Heard Him !!!....God I Miss This Man !!!.....
This song just uplifts your spirits. Great music!
Just checked into an AirBnB and just finished unpacking. Now I can watch this.
he was the great American poet of the 20th century
I have no idea what a fife or fiddle is but I know that this guy is one happy country boy. Love it.
I remember that this song gave me energy after 12 hours shift in car factory. Great song
The only singer i have seen use a violin while singing...Inspirational for my little boy who loves to sing and also plays the violin....Defintely showing him this one!!!
Roxas Sora Actually the same thing, just a different style of playing. A Stradivarius could be used for this song, but that just wouldn't be the right use for such a great instrument, not that this song is a bad song. A Stradivarius is better suited for classical music.
If you like that try the lead singer of Old Crow Medicine show: Wagonwheel live :) he plays and sings at the same time too
John Denver was one talented country boy. If you've never heard him play electric guitar, search for it and check it out.
Synopsis
John Denver was born on December 31, 1943, in Roswell, New Mexico. After dropping out of college, he traveled to New York City and began his music career. Peter, Paul and Mary recorded his "Leaving on a Jet Plane" in 1967 and his, "Rocky Mountain High," became an official song of the state of Colorado. Denver was an activist for environmental causes and founded the World Hunger Project. A longtime aviator, he died in a plane crash in 1997.
Here is the snap shot of a great man with his group who make some of us happy on the road or at home. I like this song

Hey people, John Denver was awesome, an American Original, and this song was a # 1 hit …. may he RIP
John was sent by G-d for us to enjoy. RIP John.
@@Farmboyspence It's a traditional way of writing God for Jewish people. More reverent, as his greatness exceeds even writing. I think that's right, anyone care to confirm?
@PewDiePie Official you realize that a god isn't a thing or a human. It's something you believe in. Real means it exists physically in some form. God doesn't.
Good song to listen to before going to work. I love Denver's enthusiasm.
He had a great variety show! I would like to see more variety shows. God bless John Denver.
I had the pleasure of seeing John Denver live in Madison, Wisconsin with my dad when I was just a girl... It was very entertaining and opened the door to live music for me! R.I.P. John Denver
John Denver's music is so cool .... Love it❤
Iam frome Poland but live in Rome , I love JD music 👍💪👏
This wonderful song had us all singing along and turned us all into country boys and girls. It’s such a delightfully uplifting song. You are missed John Denver.
I still miss him. He touch my very soul.
Was a sad day when he crashed his experimental plane!! Saw him 3 times in concert. He was one of the Very Best!
Man he died too young. What a talent
My papa (grandfather) played a demon fiddle & he & my nana (grandmother) loved John Denver. As a teenager I knew all the words to a few of his tracks & loved how fast & quick the lyrics moved! I'm a lifelong Bowie fan, but I hope there's a little bit of John Denver in all of us!
Loved listening to this!!
been a john Denver fan since 1971 and I never knew he played the fiddle himself. thanks for sharing this
He does't miss a beat on this very fast song. And fine job on the fiddle - didn't know he played that. Great job
As a northeastern liberal I feel we can come together on music like this...thank god for john Denver
As a conservative, Biden is absolutely wrecking our county. Country people and folks with common sense don't play. They get the job done! Trump 2024!🔥
I miss John Denver!!
Iam only after a TV advert dam that's a good a tune / song
I'm not a country boy but I LOVE this song!
This song is so uplifting it can probably lift the dead. I am very much city born and raised, but each time I hear this song I turn into a thigh slapping country boy! Now, any song that can make me feel like that has to be a great song.
HE WAS NOT EVEN A COUNTRY BOY BUT I HAVE TO SAY JOHN DENVER FILLS MY HEART WITH SO MUCH LOVE AND JOY XXXX ♥
I heard this song when I was younger
I heard this song yesterday for my first time. Soooo great. This song makes me feel good. Greetings from Germany.
Got to be one of the best live singers ever.
Americana! I love it!
I remember listening to this song as a kid while pulling grass stems to eat the sweet ends
This is real country music,i love it,modern country isn't bad,but ,for those that born in the sixties like me,they know what I'm talking about
Lots of people know him for his song "Take Me Home Country Roads" as well his singing, but not many people see his instrumental talent. He is amazing not only for his voice and lyrics but for his acoustic guitar playing, and for his playing of the fiddle. thanks for reading!
I wish more radio stations would play his music. I love his music.
Our local radio station does a salute to the Farmers, Fighters and Freighters every Friday morning around 6:30 am. This song get played a lot of those Friday mornings. Also our Elementary school music teacher teaches the kids about his music. I have heard Grandma's Feather Bed sung at more than one concert. R.I.P John your memory lives on.
After 40 yrs I still remember the words to his songs. So profound. My 14 and 16 yr old are looking at me like I'm an idiot right now for signing the crap out ta this song. Yyyeeee Hhhaaawww😁😁😁
Sadly I used to ridicule this guy in his heyday, but now that he and so many like him are gone I realize just not how good he really was, but that I miss real country. I'm not saying the new stuff is bad, it's well sung, produced etc. but it just doesn't move me.
+Tommy Petersen It's always great when we can rediscover something and appreciate it like it's new.
Good on you.....
KCCO Bro!!
+John Lee Pettimore Yeah since I rediscovered guys like Waylon, I just fell in love with 70s country. John Denver also took a lot of flack for not being "real country" but looking back I can finally appreciate his gorgeous voice, musicianship, and energy. His last televised concert was amazing.
+Tommy Petersen me too. Used to think he was the pits. He really did have talent.
+Barbara Clapperton Amazing isn't it when we get older and don't care so much what others think? Ah to be old! His "I guess he'd Rather be in Colorado" was the tipping point for me, that song had literally haunted me me my whole life.
Such a kind & happy man, John Denver gave so much to the world with his emotional songs, his smile is so beautiful, so is he, rest in peace flying & singing man!!
when I listen to this song, I would like to be a cowgirl!! Thank God for his voice, passion and talent!! A hug from Chile, dear John!
Someone who inspires happiness will be in our hearts forever.
Has anyone else seen the video of Montgomery Gentry singing this and forgot the words? Eddie said to Troy you remember what happened last time? Troy said yea I had to repair 2 drywall holes in my bedroom. I am sure if John was still alive he would say Eddie Troy let me show you how it’s done
John Denver was in a class above as he was a Hall of Fame songwriter, who rarely if ever covered another artist's song; he was a HOF musician on the acoustic 12-string guitar, not an easy instrument to master and often it was just JD and his guitar on the performance stage. John was an other-worldly HOF singer/vocalist, who admitted that the greatest snub of his life was that the concert promoters DID NOT WANT HIM TO PERFORM AT WOODSTOCK in the late summer of 1969, claiming he was too country. He wrote: “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” as he response to the hurtful Woodstock omission.
His songs touched the heart ,some were sad , some made you smile all day .
they have this bloody earworm, in a commercial on the cbc, now, grrrrrr, DAMN MARKETING !!!!!
I did not know he played the fiddle awesome musician and song writer who left this world way to soon.
beautiful 👍mette allegria e voglia di ballare 😆👌❤
John lived life to its fullest. We all miss him!
