This place is amazing! I’ll bet it was pretty cozy when someone was living there. Wonder why they left.....all that work and ....their gone, very sad.

That cabin would be great to live in, considering the general location. No air conditioner needed for summer, and little to no heat needed in winter.

Fascinating hide-a-way in the Sedona hills! Strange it isn't more well known. It looks like a mix of original builder and then someone came in to make it more comfortable. But who brought in all the concrete? I couldn't find information on the Porcelain Superior Stove. A seller on eBay with a similar one says it was made by Montgomery Ward but I can't confirm. Mystery cabin for sure. Nice video!

Larry, I was throughly impressed with your video of this cabin in the mountain. I want to know how all the concrete was hauled up there. That took a lot of work to build. Do you know how old the building might be? One of the best parts for me was that you did more narration than you normally do. I just seems better when you make your own personal comment on the things that are there rather than just show a picture. Years ago I found out where the name Sedona came from. The first postmaster that setup the postoffice there named the place after his daughter Sedona and it has stayed that way ever since. You were spot on with this fantastic video and it kept me on the edge of my seat for fear that you were going to hit the dead from a long ways up. I am watching it on a 70" TV screen so it is like I am right there with you. Bravo Zulu

I love walking up washes, they have some beautiful rocks all washed around by the river when it has water in it. Really beautiful place! Just gorgeous! I can see why they had the cabin so high up, amazing view! I think this place is more beautiful than our Red Rock canyon, and it has some amazing spots. Can you imagine the people that worked on this? Wow.......amazing.

Larry and Desert Princess I want to go next time when you both colberate...that looked freaking amazing, so many rooms and all dug out by man, just mind blowing... No pun intended.. but great work by man so many years ago and before our time. I've been researching this place for 2 years and nothing on it, I think whomever it was that created it or those that created it they all dead before anything was finished, lots of newer updated things they wouldn't have had back in the 30s and 40s.. I remember reading how Elvis enjoyed it there when they would shoot movies there, other then that not much to go by... And that's really sad. And maybe whomever knows more on it wants to remain hush so it doesn't get vandilized by those vandels that love these remote places... ☮️❤️
Amazing place
According to "Arizona Jones" (Adamthew.com), the house was built in 1961 by Bob Kitredge during the Cuban 'Bay of Pigs' event. Adam also said it is possible that Elvis stayed there while filming a movie.
It really seemed to be older than 1961...but not as old as some of the other cabins you and I have made it to.

...is an area which I think the builders were sourcing some of the rock as it seems to be a man made cut into the face of the mountain, something a miner would have done back in the day. Also the train rail seems to be out of place for something done in the 1960s...to me more miner related activities. I am guessing at 1920s or 1930s, maybe older but not earlier...again just an estimate based off what Ive seen prior.
Also at 16:08sec the stacked rock seems to be something more like 1920s or old miner style, not 1960s.

Where was the rattle snake, I didn't see him with the welcome committee . So how did the builder move those large stones and rails. Could he have gotten a crane to that site?

Does anyone know who build this and when? It looks like it would have been a great haven for rattlesnakes. I can't imagine spending the night in it.

It's unfortunate the builder didn't inscribe the construction date on any of the stones. Whoever it was likely relied on pack animals to transport the materials to this location.

There is little to go on with history at the moment.
I seen this place 11, Years ago. Shame it's gotten so dirty. When I seen it and old couple had a Camper at the bottom of the driveway and where realy nice to tell me about the place and show me. They said they where not living in it due to no power and and toilets. I was there fri* been Trashed now. So sad.

I know you cannot say where…but it is in a same valley as petroglyphs? My dad always talked about this place and I’ve searched and searched but could never find it. He said there were petroglyphs in the canyon too.

Is that BLM land or is it private. Just imagine what it took to get the stove and cement up there!!!
It's tricky to get there without trespassing however I followed the riverbed to avoid issues.
