One of your old videos popped up on my suggested page and I CANNOT BELIEVE how different you look in the thumbnails! You have come SO FAR! I am looking forward to seeing the video all about your Kansas hike one day. Plateaus, struggles, and obstacles will happen but what’s important is that you push through them, just like you’re doing now. You’ve been such an inspiration on my journey and to so many people in the world. “Just keep doing the best you can!” 💪🏼 ❤️

Every time I lose a significant amount of weight I end up self sabotaging. Probably because my weight gives me an excuse for not being as productive, successful, fearless and confident as I should be. Also finding happiness outside of food would be such a lifestyle change and I am a creature of habit...I'm comfortable being miserable I should say. I've never seen anyone like you go from start to "finish" before, and I am rooting for you so much! It's selfish but I want you to inspire me! I have repeatedly used the loose skin thoughts to quit and regain 60lbs before and god I regret it... Now I have 200lbs to lose. You can doooo it!!! Love you!!

OMG, you brought me to tears with you wanting to conquer that trail! I love that your husband said to do it piece by piece, he sounds so sweet and you deserve to conquer it! Hang in there! I deal with the loose skin and the hanging stomach and with weight loss it can be a real downer. But we have to remember the real reasons we are losing it like walking that trail!

I’ve had to stop cheat days. It sets up something in my mind that makes me eat things I don’t reeeeeeally want. So I’m trying to indulge as a decision. Not out of weakness, or unplanned. Or as a “cheat.”

I don't know anyone who does 20,000 steps a day, even my super fit gym friends! I know that's advice from your Doctor so I think you should follow it if you think it works for you. I love Josh's idea of hiking the trail. Maybe if you did a few little trips like that it would be non-scale victories and you could still come back and do the whole thing all over again when you feel you can do it! Thank you for sharing your ups and downs. It's helpful to people like me.

Sometimes I do 20 000 or even 30 000 steps/day (I did it like 2 times last year, so it doesn't count hehe), but (!) 10 000 works just fine if not better for weightloss. I've noticed weightloss stalls after the phases where I walk a lot. Our bodies need rest.

You’re doing great! Don’t get too discouraged. I lost 140 lbs from 360 at about 5’3,” and was a size 30 and just now can get into a size 20 and still a 2X shirt from a size 4X, sometimes smaller, but the skin and way I hold most of my weight in my stomach too has prevented me from wearing smaller sizes. And I’ve been getting stressed and discouraged lastly too. We just need to keep focus on NSV and getting healthier so we can live the best non-food-related lives that we can. It just shows how strong you are! Keep it up. 90lbs will soon turn into 190lbs. 😁

Don’t beat yourself up. I lost 35 out of the 75 I wanted to lose and I have been stuck here since last July. I am still working out, eating well, and still, I am stuck. The one thing that “shook me up” was taking my measurements and buying jeans in a whole new size that I have never been in before. Keep positive. Keep moving forward. Thank you for being an inspiration. Have a wonderful night. 👩🏻

    @beedecay2754 Před 6 lety +1

You have made it so far. It’s ok to be stuck for a bit, you’re not getting stuck for years now. Be gentle on yourself. Walking is not an easy excercise to focus on when you’re bigger and have knee problems. You can make it easier on yourself by doing an alternative exercise. You would burn more fat doing weights and strengthening your core and back first. You haven’t given up and that’s the main point. So proud of you!

So sorry to hear about the condition of your knees. I am 60, overweight (have lost 75+ lbs.) and have terrible knees as well. I like your ambition of wanting to walk that 6300 mile trail and love that you hubby has given you a solution for some of the Kansas portions of the trail (so sweet and thoughtful). I basically ruined my knees with multiple falls (down the stairs, off the bed on to the knee, just by walking, etc.) and then arthritis has set in for the duration. However, I have been drinking chicken broth with collagen mixed in and have seen (felt) a big improvement in my knees. I know that this is not a cure-all but it is helping me to walk longer distances than a year ago ... along with the weight loss too. As I know that the arthritis is not going to go away and will probably get much worse over time I am longing to walk longer distances too. Just wanted to encourage you in your endeavor of a very ambitious hiking trip and say that I know you will eventually GET IT DONE! I know this because I have seen the 'fight' in the precious lady on my screen. Keep your dreams alive and don't quit! Much love and admiration!

When I first started my weight loss journey in Jan of 2017 I listened to the audiobook of Wild by Cheryl strayed. I would HIGHLY recommend reading or listening to that book. The whole time I was listening I would go for walks outside (Jan in Illinois sucks lol) but I told myself if she could hike the whole pacific crest trail by herself then I could walk a mile that day. Anyway it lit a fire in me that I’m so thankful for. With that being said take it easy on your knees but believe in the process and believe in yourself. We are incredible beings and are so very capable even if we don’t feel it.

About skin... I met few people who lost half of their weight and they all had that worry about skin and all of them said that this stopped them for a few month on their journey but now they say loosing weight is the best thing they ever done because you can do a surgery after, some of them didn't and still feeling good as they can do what they couldn't do 2/3 years ago !!
Make that walk not ,, someday,, but use it as a real goal almost tribute to your grandparents! This is an excellent motivation!!!

In December of 2011 I joined Weight Watchers and I was 100 pounds overweight, so I can totally relate to all your struggles. I'd like to say it gets easier when you reach your goal, but it doesn't. Motivation is cyclical, so a lot of times you just have to make yourself do it. You're doing great. The most important thing is to not give up and having non-scale goals is a great way to motivate yourself.

The last part of this video really struck a chord with me. For the past year I have been dreaming about thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail (or any trail for that matter). It's one of my life dreams, but due to being overweight and having various other medical issues I'm not sure if that will ever happen. I live in NE Kansas and would love to start hiking, so hit me up if you ever need a hiking partner! :D Also, next time you're in Wichita you should check out the Great Plains Nature Center - they have some beautiful short/easy trails plus lots of wildlife
P.S. the weather here has been pretty crappy over the past week, and has made my joints feel extra achy and sore, so hoping that is all that's going on with your knees and you start feeling better this week!

I feel your struggles and frustration and pain. I've been losing weight for two years, and it's definitely not all sunshine and light and setback free. I've been fortunate enough to escape major joint damage, but the weird proportions and skin are just dreadful. Virtual hugs from Pennsylvania!

Every time I go eat, I think humm, maybe I should get a table.. Then remember I have lost 70 pounds and either booth or table is fine. It's a wonderful feeling! You have to remember that right now you have loose fat and as you lose more and more fat some of that skin will tighten up. Don't be ashamed of your body, think of it as a battle scar as you are fighting for a healthier life!

I found some stretchy men's underwear for my Jerry...and they didn't have a fly...and he did NOT like that...I had NEVER seen men's underwear without a fly before!!! Anyway, they are kinda like shorts with short little legs...and they fit me really well!!! But they are sure, not pretty...but oh well!! But I tried to order me some more and they do not make them anymore!!! And I NEVER thought about putting them under my belly...thank you!!!

Keep your head up! You’re going to lose it as long as you stay committed. I’m still working on the commitment part. As to clothes, take someone who you trust and will motivate you. You likely are being too critical of yourself or are too caught up in how other people might see you. Good luck and remember you can get there!

rewatching your videos from time to time; how fun, my dad got a dog a few months after this video was posted and it's a wirehaired pointer, so he looks very similar to the shorthaired pointers your parents have :) especially the fur colours
