zo erg ik ben een maand geleden nog gaan kijken. een groot verlies voor de scheepswereld.
I wish that I had seen that ship before it burned. Truly stunning replica. I feel sorry for the people who built, maintained and operated this ship. Hopefully, from the ashes a phoenix will rise.

en da heefd ook nog in de scheepsjongens van bontekoe gespeelt dit is echt zo erg.
i am very upset, and angry at seeing this,where were the fire alarms? did the ship not have automatic fire fighting systems onboard?? THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED!!

There was an automatic fire fighting installation on board, but it was not powerfull enough for this big fire. They tried to put the fire out, but well, apperantly it was too big. But i suppose they are investigating stuff now. The ship was insured for several millions, so i think the insurance company wants to know everything about what happened, how, and why.
Also due to the extreme heat it was impossible for the firefighters to reach the fire, which was at the lower part of the ship.

Een bar in een schip uit de zeventiende eeuw? Kortsluiting!? Sprinklerinstalatie? Wietplantage? Beter scheepsbeschuit en ratten, luizen en muizen!!!
dit meen je niet.. gelukkig was het maar een replica. en er is nog een andere replica ergens. wel mooi om te zien hoe een verwoest schip er 400 jaar geledn uit heeft gezien
