This track is the final version of the song, which apparently used to contain the verses found in the duet version. In retrospect, the released version of the song doesn't transition to the "I'll find out someday" part as well as it does in the duet version (or indeed, this track).

- The "There's something out there callin' me / And it's a mystery that I can't wait to see" is replaced with "I feel it deep within my soul / How can I be whole if I don't feel at home".
- The final two verses from the duet are used, rather than the single verse in the released version of the song. This difference is marked by asterisks.

I guess when they cut the sunset leaving plot line very late in to production they struggled a lot with how to make what more that's out there still fit.
Seems like they tried giving twilight a rewritten version of the full song at first before only using twilights original part & the duet twilight animatic sections. They came very close to cutting the song altogether too.

"19:16 - We know this is going to be heartbreaking to hear given the hard work you put into reboarding this section, but the song feels way too long. Without Sunset Shimmer, it's mostly just Twilight walking around, and she starts to sound like she's repeating herself. Know these boards were all rough, but if we added some more interesting visuals, it could help. Ultimately, we should probably just trim the song/sequence down. Also, since it's a solo, we don’t think we should have harmonies (even though it does sound beautiful)."
"We can’t say we disagree… Without Sunset Shimmers inclusion in the song, it feels unnecessary. We suggest cutting the song all together. It would certainly help us hit our running time, and we don’t really lose much from the song that isn’t explained throughout the rest of the movie. We need to get the animatic locked up by the end of this week and getting into further song edits at this stage might impact our ability to keep this baby on schedule."
"We were pretty conflicted about this because while it does repeat information and would help the production, we do feel it’s important to have a song here for a variety of reasons. A song really does make Twilight’s emotional state more resonant. There would also be a pretty large gap without a song if we lose it. And from a business perspective, we do need another song for the soundtrack. It also gives us the ability to include the Sunset Shimmer/Twilight duet on the soundtrack without looking like we’re selling essentially the same two songs cut from the movie. As mentioned in the note, we do think we could cut the song way down. Two verses, two choruses, outro. Or whatever you feel works best. But please keep that awesome shot where the camera is above Twilight’s head."
