      People are going to continue the trends inspired by the past 2 years of Coronavirus lockdowns, but this time by CHOICE:
      Baking breads at home;
      Making more home-cooked meals;
      Enjoying meals, movies, and 'old school' board/card games at home, with family and friends;
      Continue learning their new craft/hobby, be it sourdough, gardening, journaling, brewing, online schooling, etc;
      Continue to prefer outdoor dining in good weather {whether at home or in restaurants};
      Continue exercising that isn't dependent on gym memberships, like walking, biking, playing basketball, swimming in public pools, etc;
      There'll now always be some musicians playing on their balcony.....
      LESS of shopping, dining out, replacing clothes yearly.
      So more of the relaxing, comfy, down-home activities with people you really care about, continuing to stimulate the mind through formal or informal education.... A re-focus on what's important and pleasurable in life.

    I just made this for dinner tonight. And I didn’t prep my ingredients so at the very end of the recipe I realized that I didn’t have white vinegar, but I did have apple cider vinegar. I substituted the vinegar and just wanted to pop on here to say… don’t do that. The recipe says to use lemon juice if you don’t have vinegar which is what I wish I had done. Apple cider vinegar is not going to be a great substitute. We did still eat it but masked the flavor with a bit of heavy cream.

    Altered this, replaced vinegar with fresh lemon juice since its really the acidity you want, i also wanted a little more green so i added leeks (butters best friend) and parsley. Lastly i deglazed the pan from the point the onions were done with white wine, and i used some fresh beans and added the rind of a parm. This makes the whole thing lighter, fresher and have more depth of flavor.

This looked like it would be good, but I wasn't sure if it would be all caps GOOD --- and it was all caps FANTASTIC! I sorta mucked up the chicken base, which made it a little too salty, so I peeled and diced a couple small potatoes I had laying around to sorta stretch out the salt playing field, and it worked out great. It's 10 deg. F here tongiht, so this is perfect. Alison's recipes are essentially no fail at this point in my book. Thank you!

Schreiber, just because you can get it in bulk quantities. They sell every flavor imaginable, and they sell it in pints and quarts. My dad was a chef and would get it through work. We'd have them on the bottom of our fridge, and they lasted just this side of forever.

    I've made this twice since it came in the newsletter! It's so good, and I could eat it every single day.

    Love I can’t wait until you create your dishes for those of us that don’t metabolize fats and carbs like we used to. Menopause baby. I never knew 😊

      What do you eat if you cannot consume fats and carbs?
      I know plenty of menopausal women. They are able to eat vegetables just fine.
