I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened on the five hundred fifty fifth day of the war.
Day 555: Sep 01
First of all, more information became available about the Ukrainian strike on the Russian strategic airfield in Pskov. Last time, we confirmed the complete destruction of 2 aircraft and possible damage to 2 more, but further evaluation was complicated due to the cloudy weather. However, today, it was reported that those 5 aircraft that were previously invisible highly likely received some damage as well, increasing the number of damaged aircraft from 4 to 9. And this makes sense because even Russian initial figures after the 2nd out of 3 waves of attacks claimed that only 4 aircraft were damaged.
But the biggest news is not about the inflicted damage but about how Ukrainians actually did it. As you remember, there were 3 theories: that Ukrainians launched their drones from Ukraine, of which Russian analysts were skeptical; that Ukrainians launched it through Belarus; and that Baltic states helped Ukraine to conduct this strike. As it turned out, none of these versions are correct.
Some Russian analysts also recalled how two weeks ago, Ukrainian saboteurs operating on the territory of the Russian Federation launched quadcopters from the nearby settlements and damaged 2 Russian strategic bombers Tu-22m3 on 2 different airfields. These analysts made a suggestion that maybe this drone strike was also launched from the Russian territory, but other analysts claimed that this was too crazy. The sheer scale of the strike would suggest that Ukrainians established a large-scale production of assault drones inside Russia, created launch pads, and a complicated system of surveillance and coordination, which, as they concluded, would be simply impossible to hide from the Russian Federal Security Services. Unfortunately for Russians, this is exactly what happened.
Interestingly, right after the strike, the spokesman for Ukrainian Intelligence Yuriy Butusov released a video of one of the initial tests of a new type of drone that could be assembled from simple cardboard. He also claimed that they already used these drones in a small-scale attack on the Russian airfields in Kursk on 27 August and destroyed 4 fighter jets Su-30, and 1 jet Mig-29. Given that Ukrainians are literally using paper planes with explosives, they are very easy to create and assemble and very hard to detect by radars. Judging by the video, the drones also explode above the target and cover a large area with shrapnel that is capable of penetrating fuselage, fuel tanks, badly damaging an entire aircraft¸ and easily causing a fire. Such a teaser obviously raised a lot of discussions inside the Russian media space and gave rise to speculations about the usage of these drones during the large-scale strike on Pskov.
Two days later, the Head of the Ukrainian Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov officially confirmed in an interview that the strike on Pskov was indeed launched from the territory of the Russian Federation. Simultaneously, Ukrainians released a video of the moment of the strike and destruction of one of the Russian strategic airlifters IL-76. What this means is that Ukrainians did not just launch drones based on some information but based on real-time intelligence that they were receiving via a flying drone. That is why Ukrainians could dynamically correct the trajectories, ensuring a much higher success rate. The fact that this was organized and conducted 700 km from Ukraine, deep inside Russia, is simply mindboggling.
British Intelligence recently released a report about all known Ukrainian drone strikes on Crimea and Russia in 2023, and it turned out that in less than 240 days, Ukrainians conducted 190 known strikes. Once again, this does not include those conducted near the contact line, just Crimea and Russia. And as you can also notice from the map, the reach of these drone strikes is very impressive - a lot of bases in the Moscow and Tula regions suffered over these months. And even if we just take the last month - August - based only on the confirmed destruction of Russian equipment from videos that happened on the territory of the Russian Federation, Ukrainians destroyed 1.2 billion dollars worth of equipment, which is a substantial proportion of the Russian annual military budget, and is incomparable to how little Ukrainians spent on cheap Chinese drones and lately paper planes with explosives for these strikes.

Ukraine should be supplied with F-16s and long-range precision munitions, such as the ATACMS, and the russian orc military bases inside of russia should be legitimate targets. Most likely the hesitance of Ukraine's partners in this regard is not directly due to concern about provoking the orcs (we all know the kremlin will bark loudly - like a tiny yappy dog - and do nothing else, for russia orcs know they can not win a direct war against NATO). Instead, it is due to a concern by western politicians that their own populations might not fully support the military aid to Ukraine. However, such concern is ill-founded. For example, support for military aid to Ukraine in the US is over 80% and still rising. This is because Americans can see that not only is helping Ukraine the ethical thing to do, it is the practical thing as well. America has spent only approximately 5% of its military budget so far to help Ukraine. However, more than half of the Russian army has been destroyed. This is a tremendous bargain by any measure! On top of this, when russia is defeated in this war, their ideology of Fascist Imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a more peaceful, stable place for many generations - preventing a new arms race in the region. Thus, billions spent today saves trillions tomorrow. The vast majority of Americans understand this. Americans also want to see Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. Thus Americans are correct to support giving Ukraine:
1) F-16s & F-15s for air-supremacy.
2) Grippen Fighters as well - they are less sensitive to rough runways, and easier to maintain - making them useful for some areas.
3) ATACMS, and other long range munitions, and a carte-blanche to destroy orc military targets inside Russian territory.
4) More Patriot & C-RAMs air defenses (Patriot missiles are expensive, so a tiered air defense is best - let C-RAMs take care of the cheap drones).
5) M1 Abrams MBT, and M109A6 Paladins (SPG), and A-10 Warhogs (for ruZZian orc removal in detail)
To facilitate a faster Ukrainian victory, and with fewer Ukrainian losses, the democracies of the world need to send military support to Ukraine. Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are a US citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war-winning quantities, and soon. The sooner we give Ukraine the weapons it needs to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be over, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website. One can also google for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One can simply write and submit a letter electronically to make your desire known.

It is absolutely mind-boggling brother, you said it. That's amazing. Cardboard drones and orks can't even stop it. Americans always thought the Russians were something to be feared. These drones are wax covered cardboard with an advanced guidance system and cost approx $3000 each. They are Australian made and supply Ukraine with about 100 of them a month, in a flatpack ready to be assembled like Ikea. The wings are held on with rubberbands. They can carry a 5kg payload with a range of 120kms @ 60km/hr and also have the capability to swarm together with others.
That is just scary as hell for the russians. The ukraines are stepping up there game
Wow, just incredible

"Unfortunately for Russians..." I love hearing these three words!
It would be nice if you could acknowledge that these paper drones were developed and manufactured in Australia by its defence industry partners and supplied to Ukraine with our thanks !!!!! A proud Aussie happy to support Ukraine.
I agree
I read some reports saying that UA also started creating their own versions as well as soon as AU's were received, so I was unsure which ones were actually used.
It's ingenious propaganda too... literal paper airplanes taking out strategic bombers!
And yeah I had to look this up on my own when I heard about it a week ago... bloody great design work by those Aussies.
OR maybe no one knew they were Australian and you should stop begging for attention
The Germans had the same trouble spotting the Mosquito on radar due to its wood construction.
Really chuffed the Aussies came up with cardboard drones, I'm a Kiwis and hats off to our older bro😊
"unfortunately for ruzzians" Is my favorite line you hear in every video
Russia is that weak a cardboard plane can beat them
Paper bear is defeated by paper plane!
The utter lack of shelters for their aircraft contributes immensely to the vulnerability of Russian Air Force assets of all types. Russian milbloggers ranted about the different circumstances between the US and Russia when Putinists would try to use the American examples of exposed aircraft in an act of whataboutism.
We saw how Russia chose poorly in this high stakes game of Rock-Paper-Scissors.

Weaponized paper planes. You gotta love it.
9 aircraft damaged is an unbelievable success! Russia is losing Il-76 at unsustainable rates, as well as Tu-22 Strategic bombers, which are irreplaceable. These SYPAC Australian drones are invisible to Radar & could be manufactured in tens of thousands. Russia is facing complete destruction of their war machine, by cardboard! The fact that Ukraine could film the attack on Pskov in real time is simply incredible. Surely another 10,000 such cardboard drones could bring down Mordor!!

Keep it up Ukraine. you guys are amazing. Florida resident and believer in democracy, truth, fairness, and freedom.
Russian radars will have a hard time picking up cardboard drones. Paper is excellent in absorbing radar wave. This is incredible
The thing is: even if radar pick them up, they are so ridicolously cheap that you can just over-saturate any air defense with it.
Does not need to absorb radar which passes straight thru. Only metal bits like motors and batteries will reflect and perhaps explosive containment. These can be mostly plastic also. The secret is to not alert orc jamming gear so navigating is precise.
That drone seemed to have a real good shrapnel cover zone . It would make a good anti personnel drone against groups of the enemy . A cardboard plane takes out a multi million dollar Transport jet , amazing . The Aussies are real sneaky and generous but I bet they also want them tested in real combat . Unfortunately for Russians they never did any classes in tactical origami .
It is an idea that's the most prescious here. Any country are capable to manufacture a cardboard drone(and UA did it) but Australia came up with idea first and will be mentioned in history. (actually it was a transport drone without explosives first)
@@vadymvvThe difference between a “combat” drone and a “cargo” drone is just the cargo.

Every time the cardboard drones are mentioned I have to laugh. The British give million pound tanks that are stuck behind mine fields, and Australians give cardboard drones which can be flat packed (take that Sweden!!) then we see all the damage that can be done with the most ridiculous looking weapon!
That's Australian way. Gotta live it. I say they are made out of xxxx beer cartons. Gives them more power.😊❤
Flat packaging is a Swedish tech appriopriated by Ozzies. Now waiting for our royalties...
Drones really have changed the way war will be fought in the future, and this war is the proving ground, it's amazing like you stated, how much damage such an inexpensive weapon, like a drone can do.
@@02markcal Not really, drones have been used as far back as WWII. It's just that technology has greatly evolved to make them smaller and cheaper to mass produce.
Next up, long range trebuchet tossing british tanks over the mines to attack the russians.
I'm confused about why Ukraine would let anyone know how they did it. Keep that shit quiet! Unless it's not true...
Likely because the Russian Military already understood, so there was no point in hiding, so for decreasing the Rusian morale they also conduct these information operations.
True or psyops ... Russians will hate this regardless and feel helpless.
It’s a strong propaganda move: humiliation for Russia being bested with paper planes 😂
There might have been a case for ongoing 'constructive-ambiguity' if all the targets had burned entirely (and they knew none of the drones could have been found, say by observing all of them detonate). But as it is the Ruzzians could get enough of an idea from the evidence left on/around the damaged planes, including the lack of plastic and metal drone-debris.
In any case, there are still plenty of details left vague and/or potentially misleading. It's brilliant.
Russians found 1 drone that didn't explode
I'd like to think that the cardboard drones scream "Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oy! Oy! Oy! as they hit their target.
I'm so proud that Australia is not only supplying 100 cardboard drones a month but has also put no restrictions on where they can be used. The war may be on Ukrainian soil, but the supply lines & aerial sortie bases are all based in Russia. Being able to hit legitimate military targets in Russia is vital to ending the war sooner. Glory to Ukraine!

It might be a basic thing, but it's also an incredibly versatile and inexpensive material with built-in reinforcement. I'm not surprised that they're working so well in this particular application. The material only needs to last long enough to reach its intended target.
Russia really has to worry about this. How do you protect yourself against a sudden swarm of a thousand cardboard drones heading your way? I doubt their air defenses are capable of fighting off huge numbers like that.
@@Milnoc I think Russia's real concern should not be that these drones exist, but that they are within Russia. And despite their ingenious simplicity, hitting a target with a drone (and capturing images of it) requires considerable coordination between many people. Which means that there are many, many people within Russia who are working with Ukraine on an intelligence basis and who are willing to take the risk of launching these drones within Russia. And they are getting the explosives from somewhere. It's a risky operation. It appears that it is a very large network. I'd be afraid if I were Putin. An unseen, inside, and very effective enemy is good reason to reconsider your life choices. It's beautiful karma if you ask me!

Now they should trench near the Caspian sea and take out the bombers which are firing missiles at Ukraine from there.
Thank you RfU.
The inventiveness and ingenuity of Ukraine never ceases to amaze!
You've got this Ukraine.
Stay strong
Stay safe

Today’s “unfortunately for russians” was my biggest LOL so far. That little pause of anticipation right before was just chef’s kiss! 😂
Glory to Ukraine! Freedom and democracy will prevail!!! 💪💪💪
those caerdboard drones are an Australian invention and they are now sending 100 a week to Ukraine
Genius move! Base inside Russia, the huge unprotected border is like a honeypot.
Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦
And eager Russian civilians film every hit... it's basically recruiting the population to help you. All they lack is the Mao Zedong- style flyers dropped across the cities to tell people to convert.
I've been hoping to find reports of these Sypaq drones after we started sending them but after not seeing anything for months I figured they weren't working too well. Then we get this haha. The flatpack for easy distribution and easy assembly with a hot glue gun and rubber bands makes them great for these covert missions I guess. If they're useful I hope we can scale up production down here to send more and if useful, help Ukraine setup their own "production line" such as it is.
Rubber bands??? Are you serious???
@@laurie9557 Yes, the wings are held on by rubber bands.
@@laurie9557 Yes. There are pictures.
Those bases are maybe just small sheds where they glue together the planes and launch them unobserved. Take that, orcs!😂
@@rositasultana3958 Could be a van, truck or bus. I wonder if there are any bands doing a 'Russian Airbase Tour 2023'? 🤔
If someone told me 5 years ago that Russia would get their bases wrecked by paper planes, i would have laughed in his face. This is beyond surreal and ingenious
