      honestly I dont think a lot of people realized that when they first saw this movie. Obviously hindsight is 20/20 after Civil War came out but if you honestly knew that watching that scene with Dr. Zola you're lying.

    Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson were friends since childhood. The chemistry between them in this movie is real.

    The guy refusing to launch the carriers is one of my favorite moments in the MCU along with the old German man who stood up to Loki in the Avengers. There is just something about the simple normal people who aren't the main characters making a stand against the bad guys regardless.

      That and during Caps speech the two SHIELD guys that quickdrawed on the STRIKE crew that gunned them down, the quinjet crew that said "Cap needs air support" before Winter Soldier killed them and the guy who shouts "Close the bay doors!" at the control room only to get shot because they were Hydra agents.

    I agree with you on them working best as close friends rather than any romantic shipping. Nat has lived as a spy using seduction techniques of being whoever or whatever a particular guy would want. When she says to Cap "Who do you want me to be?" She's leaning back into that. So his "how about a friend" drops her guard.

      I like how cap dropped her guard down because she so use to guys wanting her in a sexual way that besides Clint cap doesn't see her that way and wants her to be a friend, a partner that he can count on.

    I served in the army, and there's a certain way that soldiers interact with each other. It comes from knowing you have that experience in common, even if you just met. The thing I love about Sam is that, from the very beginning, he doesn't treat Steve like a superhero, he treats him like a fellow soldier. That's the immediate bond you see between them.

      That soldier bond that Anthony Mackie portrays towards Chris Evans' Cap was the same portrayal that Terrence Howard showed towards RDJ's Tony Stark in Iron Man. They had such good chemistry, you can really see their friendship. I kind of miss it actually, sad that Don Cheadle doesn't give the same level of portrayal. Hard to see any friendship between his version of Rhodes and Tony

      @@markcruz359 Hard for you, sure. I have no issue seeing the friendship between Cheadle's Rhodes and Tony. That said, Cheadle's Rhodes was hampered by sorely lacking screen time.

      @@mechanomics2649 my favourite line will always be "Next time you ride with me ok" from Terrence Howard. It really showed the care he had for his friend. I would love to have seen what Terrence would have done with the exact same scripts that was given to Don Cheadle. Just wishful thinking on my part

    P.S. There was a planned scene involving Hawkeye that they never filmed. After the elevator fight, and Cap is on the run, SHIELD was going to dispatch Barton to hunt him down. He catches up to Cap in a sunken roadway or drainage pass or something or another, and they start fighting towards one another, him firing arrows. They finally get up close and Cap takes him down, when Barton whispers that there is a tracker in his suit. He's actually helping him out, and tells Rogers to knock him out, which he does before escaping. That is why we never see Steve in that dark blue Captain Rogers suit for the rest of the movie. The scene was scrapped though.

      Where was the stealth suit? He was wearing it when he escape SHIELD. He never used it again after. Although his future suits are basically the stealth suit but with the red white and blue colours

      @@markcruz359 there was a scene where cap places the suit, knowing that there is a tracker in it, in a sport bag in gym or so. i guess its an official part of the deleted scenes on bluray/dvd

    If you want more of this whole Hydra-S.H.I.E.L.D. infiltration story (and also more Coulson), you have *got* to watch some Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! It strived to tie into the films as each of them were coming out for a good portion of the show's lifetime, and the arcs that happened as a result of the tie in with this film were some of the show's best.

    My wife and I have watched Winter Soldier so many times. It's one of our favourite Marvel movies, because top down it's perfect. From the writing, acting, story, pacing, music, sound, suspense, Sam, Steve, Nat, even that wonderfully heartbreaking scene with an older Peggy with dementia, and the shocking reveals that we didn't see coming. And the feeling that the good guys are in over their head against the Winter Soldier who is a seriously deadly person. If I could forget I saw a movie so I could watch it again for the first time, this would be one of them.

There are a lot of movies that make me feel that way, which is why I love the concept of these Reaction channels. I can't make myself forget but it is so fun to watch other people get to experience that first time viewing.

      @@testfire3000 Absolutely. The concept of reactions to me initially was not positive. "People watch people listening to music or watching movies? Are you kidding me?" When I found the first reaction channel I liked I realized it's the "honest" first time viewer reaction that reminded me of my first viewing. To see their joy of discovering a new song or their emotional roller-coaster watching a great movie is entertaining. Alternatively, it's just not as fun watching someone react to something they've seen before.

    This movie is still in my top 3 MCU movies. It's exact place shifts around some. It is so well crafted, and the relationship between Cap and Nat is fantastic. It is a wonderful work wife/work husband relationship. They are very close, but it always revolves around the mission. The moment were Peggy forgets everything, and thinks she is seeing Steve for the first time is one of my favorite moments in the MCU, just watching Steve react to it, and that pain, but putting on the smile.

    I always loved the Winter Soldier’s overall vibe. The appearance, his presence, the action, story, etc. The Winter Soldier means business when he’s out in the field

    Secretary Pierce is played by the legendary Robert Redford, who is a titan of the industry and who has been a star -- playing almost all hero roles -- from the early 1960s well up into the 90s or even early 2000s. One of his most famous roles was as the hero of "Three Days of the Condor," a twisty, turny 1970s political thriller that was a great inspiration to this movie's plot and tone. That was why it was such an inspired piece of casting: audience members who knew of him and his history would be especially shocked at his villain turn. He had all but retired from acting, but his grandchildren told him that the MCU was a huge deal and he owed it to the industry to be a part of it.

      Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is one of my favorite movies. It's hard to imagine they got Redford for a role like this, it was masterful.

      @@mikelarsen5836 to be fair robert looks a lot older than he did in almost all of his prior major films, certainly older than his 70s-80s heyday.
      Funny enough, he could have been Rogers if these were made 40 years earlier.

    I love how even though Bucky isn't any stronger then Cap when he hits something or someone it sounds way more violent. I think the reason why Bucky seems to always have Cap on his heels when they fight is Bucky is a ruthless assassin who isn't pulling his punches while Cap has probably always pulled his punches for fear of hurting people.

      Yes, Cap was clearly holding back a little, especially in their first fight. When ultimately he needed to, he overpowered Bucky and rendered him unconscious. Had he wanted to, he could have killed Bucky at that point, but was obviously not going to do so.

      @@Vana1970 Maybe... not sure. But Cap is definitely the better fighter overall when not holding back. In Captain America: Civil War, Bucky makes very little headway in his fight with Spider-Man, but Cap basically takes Spider-Man down.

      @@AgentOccam Bucky also hasn't actually fought and mainly tried to avoid conflict. He is obviously burned out after being set free from being a mere pawn for Hydra.

    When Chris Evans played as The Human Torch of the Fantastic Four his life is Fun & Games. But when he play as Captain America in the Avengers he takes it seriously. He's a talented Actor.

      Chris Evans is truly talented. When I saw that he was going to be be Steve Rogers I was disappointed that they chose someone who'd already played a Marvel character in two movies. They a friend pointed out that he was in "Scott Pilgrim" and I was confused because I didn't remember him. And there he was, as Lucas Lee! That was the moment I knew I was wrong and that Chris would be amazing as Cap.

    when it comes to Actions this is the Best MCU movie, totally number 1. I love that it is also somehow realistic, No Aliens, no magics, no gods or mystical creatures just technology, government, politics, and military, things that do exist in the real world.

      I feel the same, it is one the few I could show to someone cold and I would only need tell them quickly about Steve and then the movie does enough exposition to understand the rest. It is spy thriller in a sci-fi setting basically. The Russo bros make some fun movies.

    That reaction to finding out Fury was alive is everything xD I'm glad you enjoyed this one. It's still one of my favorites today, and I think it holds up well. It just feels more grounded than most MCU movies. Steve is definitely my favorite avenger. He's just so good through and through, and that's something people can actually aspire to be. Great to see you and Lamby as always.

    “Then *finish* it. Cause I’m with you, till end of the line”
    That whole exchange hell that whole scene may be one of the best in the entirety of the MCU, made me have tears in my eyes. Its because Steve doesn’t want to and would never hurt his friend or his brother, cause he loves him too much and would lay down his own life for him. The Winter Soldier is easily my favourite MCU film, even possibly it’s best and also one of the greatest spy and superhero films ever
    made, it’s perfect and absolutely flawless from start to finish.

    A few fun, disparate facts:
    The voice narrating at Cap's museum is Gary Sinise (Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump) who, in real life, does a lot of work for veterans.
    For Cap's list that he adds Trouble Man to, the filmmakers changed several elements of it (i.e. artists, pop culture points) depending on what print it was for different movie going regions of the world.

      I thought the use of Gary Sinise was perfect, because if Cap was real, of COURSE it would be Gary Sinise speaking at his museum. It's absolutely on brand for him in real life.

      Wow, I never knew that, but I think I inherently knew it, if you know what I mean.
      His voice is so iconic. I never really thought about that voiceover, but if I was watching that part & you asked, “Who’s voice is that?’ I would immediately know it was Gary Sinise.

    One of the best Winter Soldier reactions on CZcams! Great job, Jax! Winter Soldier is in my top 3 MCU movies. A political thriller with a comic book super hero as the lead role. Worked so well. The writers of this movie and the directors, aka the Russo Brothers, did an amazing job here as did all the actors. Phenomenal!

      @@reactswithjax One thing reactors miss due to watching this movie awhile later is that when it premiered the media and tv show landscape at the time was directly affected. Season 1 of Agents of Shield was airing when Winter Soldier premiered. The episodes of the show were directly affected by the events in the movie. I don't think I'd ever seen tv shows showing consequences from a movie that just aired. And the memes on twitter were hilarious. People were sending pics of themselves whispering 'Hail Hydra' into their friends ears; tons of memes were created. Winter Soldier was an Event.

    I appreciate the length of your reaction edit. The movie is dense with great moments and huge twists and I'm glad you included everything you did. Honestly IMO this is the best reaction to this movie, you track the plot very well and draw a lot of insightful comparisons, observations and predictions as you go. You have a comfortable balance of narration but also pay attention and don't talk over important dialogue etc. Your genuine investment in the characters is a delight. Great to be along with your ride through the MCU. You'll love Civil War.

    FUN FACT: Captain America is "Weapon 1" the very first test subject to be turned into a super soldier. Wolverine was "Weapon X (10)". I really wish the MCU explores more of this. But if you look back theres already been a few human weapons test subject from Hulk to Bucky and even Black Widow. But whether they count as a part of the Weapons 1 - 10 programs im not sure

    Boy, this one was a ride, huh? Your reactions to the Falcon and Bucky reveals were everything I'd hoped they'd be! And the outrage at the Fury reveal was VERY funny. I know you engage with chat a lot, be wary of spoilers; you might want to get a mod onto it - or just remind people in a video - to be careful with comments, coz as it continues to ramp up from here, I think there might be a lot more of the "helpful advice" that turns out to preempt later reveals, like Bucky's return.

      I liked his earlier movies, but one of my favorites is among his later films, "An Unfinished Life," with Jennifer Lopez, Morgan Freeman, Josh Lucas, and Camryn Manheim.

    fun fact- at 6:45, the french guy Captain America fights is legendary UFC fighter Georges St-Pierre. he isnt exactly an actor, but is french-Canadian and can really throw down. I always thought it was cool that they asked him to play this part.

    BTW, The Winter Soldier's theme is mainly composed of the sounds of the train and Bucky's screams as he fell off of it in Captain America 1, just pitched up. That's the screeching sound you hear in his music whenever he appears or does something badass.
    The twist of his reveal was put in his very theme, and it becomes more tragic with that knowledge.

    One of the best. No gods. No hulks. No Iron Man armor. But... one of the most on the edge of your seats films ever. I love how these Marvel films are all different. Some are origin stories. Some are team films. Films with fancy tech. Films with magic... This one was a political thriller. The next one is a space fantasy film. Genres keep flipping around, but the Marvel Universe moves on. Can't wait for your next reaction!

    Your reaction to Sharon at 18:48 "You terrible person!" had me laughing my rear end off!! That was great! Excellent, excellent reaction video, Jax. You're always so much fun. This is my absolute favorite MCU movie and one of my favorite movies hands down. I envy you seeing it for the first time. When I got home from seeing it in the theatre back in 2014 I immediately ordered a replica of Cap's shield which is prominently displayed in my collection. Just like you, Captain America and Black Widow are my two favorite characters in the MCU. You have amazing taste in super heroes!

    My favourite moments are the little details showing the real SHIELD agents trying to stop Hydra agents: during Caps speech the two SHIELD guys that quickdrawed on the STRIKE crew that gunned them down, the quinjet crew that said "Cap needs air support" before Winter Soldier killed them and the guy who shouts "Close the bay doors!" at the control room only to get shot because they were Hydra agents.

    The Cap movies are consistently the best because they are so grounded in real, complex emotions and concerns. Everyone can relate to loneliness and the grief of losing the people you love, and feeling unsure and overwhelmed in today's society. This one and Civil War were the peak of the MCU for sure.

    Welcome to Marvel at its best . Agents of Shield was shot right around this time line and it was fantastic . Robert Redford in his youth did a Movie called Day of the Condor it had this movies feel and is extremally worth your time . Strap in Jax its about to get Hot in the World of Marvel !!!

    I'm really glad they never developed Nat and Cap's friendship into something more, it's like her and Hawkeye, and I love that. We really need more male/female friendships and media, far too often it's said that men and women can't be friends but that just isn't true. It also plays well into Natasha's character. She would have a hard time devoting herself to one person with the work she does, and her history, so it just became an aspect of her personality to tease her friends, sometimes it's jokes, sometimes it's flirting, but it's never serious.
    This movie was really great, it's in the running for my favorite, but it kinda ties with captian america the first avenger, civil war, guardians of the galaxy, and infinity war. All are very different movies but are great for their own reasons, so it makes it really hard to compare them in my mind, it's like they are all tied for first.
    It broke my heart seeing peggy and realizing she had alzheimer's. I do agree though, you should watch agent carter, it's really good. It was kind of a double whamey for cap this movie, seeing peggy like that and then seeing bucky like he was. Both forgetting who they were, but for very different reasons. Neither truly forgetting steve.
    Bringing back zola as the new head of hydra was wild. And him setting up his base inside S.H.I.E.LD. which was set up at the base where steve trained, such great callbacks, and so many corruptions of steve's happy memories. All of them tied into shield in one way or another, no wonder he wanted to burn it all down.

    This movie is considered on of the best ever MCU movies. This is in my top 5. I can remember seeing the trailer for this in the theater and when The Winter Soldier caught the shield everyone yelled. You knew you had to see it. And yes keep tissues with you going forward 😂.

    This was definitely my favorite Captain America. If you want to see what happens to Phil Coulson you should watch Agents of Sheild .You won't see Bucky again until Captain America Civil War.

    "Tahiti is a magical place" is a line from Coulson in Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm not gonna spoil it what it means or how deep that goes. But it does make it worth watching. In fact the reason why Fury leaves for Europe in the end. Well darn it..almost could not help myself.
    As a old time Marvel fan this movie was great. Cap is only second to Spider-Man my favourite. Especially because they both stand for the same thing. The little guy. Bucky being the Winter Soldier was old hat to me. Yet to watch it in a movie was glorious. This movie shows exactly who Cap is. Vulnerable,not indestructible,fair and a heart of gold to friends. Which makes them go through hell and back for him. A natural born leader. A quality shared by Spider-Man as well.

    Great reaction, Jax! This one is a top 3 MCU movie for sure.
    Yes, in the first Captain America movie was saw Steve rescue Bucky from a medical table in the Red Skull's base... So HYDRA had been experimenting upon him while captured, which improved his healing/durability- that's why he was able to to survive falling into the canyon (although he lost an arm). By the way, the Winter Soldier's cybernetic arm isn't made of vibranium, just a conventional highly durable alloy (probably carbon steel or titanium) like Tony's armor.
    But HYDRA's process wasn't completed yet, Bucky wasn't transformed into a full-fledged super-soldier until after Zola & HYDRA recovered Bucky after his fall from the train. Remember he was part of Captain America's Howling Commando team for several months, and he didn't exhibit any super-strength or speed during that time. So apparently he only got fully upgraded after they'd brainwashed him.
    While the formula for Dr Erskine's super-soldier was lost with his death, many governments and private organizations tried to replicate it over the years, with varying degrees of success. Some wound up being very similar to the original serum, but with negative side effects. Remember in the Hulk movie, General Ross had a two-stage injectable serum that he used on Blonsky, but it had negative side-effects of increased aggression and impaired judgement. In larger doses it caused skeletal deformation. The formula that Zola used on Bucky was most likely reverse-engineered from the Red Skull's blood.

    I cannot get over how funny your little memes and comments during the reaction lmao. As no doubt 90% of the comments likely mentioned, Wolverine isn't a supersoldier, he's a mutant and he's got healing abilities called a 'healing factor'. Yes, that metal was infused into/onto his bones and that was adamantium.
    Anthony Mackie, the actor playing the Falcon was in another movie called "The Hurt Locker" with Jeremy Renner, an EXCELLENT movie, very tense, and very well reviewed - won the Academy Award for Best Picture actually. you would absolutely love it.     I just found your channel and I love your reactions! You care about these characters and you love the MCU. You GET references, they don't just all fly over your head! I've seen all of the MCU movies and during this movie a lot of your reactions made me say... well... "not yet" lol Once you've seen all the movies, you'll know just how often I said that XD I'm subbing for sure! So I can watch all your reactions! I just LOVE geeking out over these movies!     After following your last few reactions and impressed by both your empathy and passionate resolve. I have subscribed to follow you during your adventures in the MCU. You are truly a fan. You care as much about these characters as much as I do. 👍 During my lifetime, from way back in the 2oth century, the comic books these characters come is much different than the movies. But the adjustmade to them were necessary to make sense to the modern audience. The best part is the special effects have caught up enough to give them the action scenes that weren't possible in the past. The tradeoff is sometimes the abridged versions do not resemble the ones of the fans of the comics. By and large, these movies are successful because they reach a wider audience of people, like yourself, who get to enjoy the heroes of my youth in a different way.

    Hey, Jacqueline! Marvel films hit their stride with "Winter Soldier" and it remains one of the highest regarded films in the saga. The movie represents a tonal shift in the MCU towards mature, gritty storytelling with real-world consequence which roped in many non-superhero enthusiasts. It was made in the style of 1970s political thrillers like "Three Days of the Condor" and "The Parallax View" with a healthy dose of "The Manchurian Candidate". As with all the best espionage films, the story was expertly filled with twists, double-crosses, skullduggery and shocking revelations culminating with an incredible race-against-the-clock crisis. Showing Captain America break faith with the institutions he serves due to his disillusionment with systemic corruption is extraordinary and demonstrates his integrity. The plot is drawn from 'The Winter Soldier' arc of Ed Brubaker's legendary 134-issue run on "Captain America" during the 2000s. Paired with the moody, naturalistic illustrations of Steve Epting, the duo revitalized the character and his supporting cast for post-modern readers. The bold move of resurrecting Bucky Barnes and reframing his legacy was a stroke of brilliance that left an impactful mark on latter-day Marvel comics. The element of SHIELD being infiltrated by subversives is drawn from the 1988 limited series "Nick Fury vs. SHIELD" written by Bob Harras and illustrated by Paul Neary. The Triskelion as the headquarters for SHIELD was lifted directly from Marvel's secondary Ultimate Universe line although the film locates it in DC on the Potomac whereas the comics set it in New York Harbor. Similarly, the technological interpretation of Falcon is a nod to the Ultimate iteration of the character whereas the original Marvel iteration can telepathically communicate with birds and has a glider harness with mylar wings and titanium ribbing.
    Co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo were untested filmmakers who landed the plum gig after Kevin Feige saw their two-episode stint on the TV sitcom "Community"! Nevertheless, the brothers knocked this film out of the park and were tapped again to continue guiding the good Captain's adventures down the line. The action sequences are phenomenally staged but grounded enough that you feel the weight of each impact and only realize you're watching a superhero film when Steve intermittently exceeds human limits. The opening hostage rescue, the Fury ambush, the sniper attack, the elevator brawl, the Quinjet takedown, the freeway chase, the underpass shoot-out and the climactic Triskelion assault are all top-tier set pieces that are thrilling to watch! Despite wall-to-wall action, there is enough downtime to prevent fatigue, to advance plot like Hydra's insidious long-game and to build character like Steve's bedside scene with a senile Peggy. I especially like the use of the real-life 'Operation: Paperclip' in which 1,500 Nazi scientists and engineers were granted immunity and recruited by the CIA's precursor, the OSS, to work for the US government. In the film, Hydra scientists like Arnim Zola use the opportunity of this brain-drain to embed themselves in SHIELD from its very inception.
    The cast is remarkable. Steve Rogers comes into sharp focus here and Chris Evans truly made the Captain his own the third time around. Carrying over from "The First Avenger", Sebastian Stan returns as a grimly resurrected James Buchanan 'Bucky' Barnes aka The Winter Soldier, Toby Jones lends his voice to the disembodied digital form of Dr. Arnim Zola and Hayley Atwell briefly appears as an aged Peggy Carter. Anthony Mackie makes a strong, likable impression as Sam Wilson aka Falcon as does Emily VanCamp as undercover Agent 13. They join returning allies Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill and Samuel L. Jackson as Col. Nick Fury who gets showcased in a hair-raising action sequence all his own! Having an actor of Robert Redford's stature play Alexander Pierce was not only a casting coup but paid tribute to his role in "Three Days of the Condor"! Rounding out the villain roster is Frank Grillo as a pre-Crossbones Brock Rumlow and UFC welterweight champion Georges St.-Pierre as French mercenary Georges Batroc the Leaper, two traditional Cap antagonists. Callan Mulvey plays the itchy trigger-fingered double-agent Jack Rollins. Maximiliano Hernandez as Agent Jasper Sitwell, who was introduced in "Thor" and was seen throughout the saga in films, One-Shots and "Agents of SHIELD" episodes, is revealed as a Hydra sleeper along with Garry Shandling as Senator Stern returning from "Iron Man 2". The head of Hydra himself, Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, played by Thomas Kretschmann, puts in a cameo for the end-credit scene as do the Maximoff twins, Pietro aka Quicksilver and Wanda aka Scarlet Witch, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen. World Security Council members leave their shadowed holo-conference screens to show up in person this time with European representative Hawley, played by Jenny Agutter, being the only returnee from "Avengers". North American Councilman Rockwell is played by Alan Dale, South Asian Councilman Singh is played by Bernard White and East Asian Councilman Yen is played by Chin Han. Steven Culp and Nestor Serrano have bit parts as irate Congressional Committee members who grill Natasha. Gary Sinise lends his voice to the Captain America Smithsonian exhibit as narrator.
    TRIVIA:
    1. Nick Fury relates that his grandfather was an elevator operator which is what Samuel L. Jackson's real-life grandfather did for a living.
    2. When Alexander Pierce opens his refrigerator, a jar of Newman's Own sauce is clearly visible as an homage to the two times Redford and Paul Newman shared the screen.
    3. Steve's catch-up list differed by country but had seven fixed items: Thai food, Star Wars, Star Trek, Nirvana, Rocky, Rocky II and Troubleman. The countries for which items were added to the list include the US, the UK, Australia, Italy, France, Spain, Russia, Brazil, South Korea, Mexico and the Spanish-speaking countries of South America collectively.
    4. Nick Fury's tombstone bears the epitaph "The path of the righteous man. Ezekiel 25:17". This was Jules Winnfield's favorite verse in "Pulp Fiction", a character Jackson is famous for playing.
    5. The Winter Soldier's moniker comes from the Thomas Paine quote that "the summer soldier and sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." 'He' is the winter soldier, the inverse of 'the summer soldier'.
    EASTER EGGS:
    1. When Steve and Natasha enter the old SHIELD headquarters at Camp Lehigh, they find portraits of SHIELD's three founders: Colonel Chester Phillips, Howard Stark and Peggy Carter.
    2. Sitwell reveals Zola's algorithm is targeting potentially problematic persons of interest like Bruce Banner and Stephen Strange. This is the first reference to Doctor Strange in the saga.
    3. Agent 13's real name is revealed as Sharon by Natasha. This hints at her familial tie to another MCU character for comic readers who know the implication of the name.
    4. Although corrupt in the film, Jack Rollins is the actual name of a heroic SHIELD agent from the "Nick Fury vs. SHIELD" comics who alerts Fury to the enemy infiltration.
    CAMEOS:
    1. Co-director Joe Russo plays the underground doctor tending to Nick Fury during the scene where he reveals he's alive.
    2. Captain America scribe Ed Brubaker plays the bearded Hydra scientist tending to the Winter Soldier during the scene where Pierce orders his mind wiped.

    "I'm so suspicious of everybody." That means writers Christopher Markus & Steven McFeely and Directors Joe and Anthony Russo did their job.
    The elevator fight when you realize you are right. Priceless.
    Love that you are focused on the details like smudgy fingerprints on the glass. People with children can sympathize. 😂
    One of the best MCU movies if not the best.

    Soooo excited for this movie! Still one of my favorites in the whole MCU. The Natasha and Steve team up is not something I knew I needed until this movie, and as far as I'm concerned, there can never be enough of those two working together.

    I cannot tell you how much fun I had watching you anticipate and then see what happened. After the first couple, I went in the kitchen and popped some corn 🍿, because it was just getting better and better. This is one of the best movies ever made, and so much spun off of this. The entire second season of Agents of Shield was an aftermath of this movie and was really the only season of that show I truly enjoyed. They threw you a lot of curveballs and you swung over most of them (baseball reference⚾😁), but when you grabbed "Lambie," it just warmed my heart. I remember Lambie from your How To Train Your Dragon reaction, and I nearly had convulsions when the dragons ate the sheep and you clentched your little friend to protect him. Then you gently set him back down so he wouldn't have to see any more. There is a great (and very cool) humanity in you, and I truly love it. when you said "I just need to stop predicting," I just sort of nodded my head, but it wouldn't have been so much fun. You have so much ahead of you in the MCU, and many of the things you said will be dealt with later ... enjoy the wild, wild ride! I'm certainly going to be here with you. You are a serious kick on the backside, and that's a great thing! Also, The Agent Carter series (which originally showed on ABC for two seasons) is available on Disney+ and you would love it. It takes place between Steve's death in The First Avenger and the founding of Shield. Despite the acronym, I find it beautiful that Peggy helped to found SHIELD ... I wonder how much the name was a tribute to Cap. It wasn't in the comics, but it certainly could have been in the MCU.

      @@reactswithjax Yeah, sometimes my fingers play embarrassing pranks on my brain, or is it the other way around? The Winter Soldier ranks at the top of my superhero movies, followed by Captain America - The First Avenger and Wonder Woman. WW is a WW1 female version of The First Avenger in many ways, while staying true to Wonder Woman's story. So very glad you felt about this movie as you did.     If you want to find out what happens to Coulson and why Tahiti is a magical place, that's all in Marvel's Agents of Shields, which is not really a part of the MCU but still related. The quality isn't on par with MCU if we're being honest, but it's a thoroughly enjoyable show as long as you don't expect cinematic masterpiece quality.

      it starts off rocky and very disjointed, almost like a comic serial where the stories aren't overly connected, but adds little bits of lore in off handed comments
      but then after it finds it's footing (approx. episodes 6-16 in S1) it takes off, the first....4 seasons, were exceptional
      but yes, there's only so much you can do in 30 mins of screentime per hit, compared to the 90min-2h 30min timeframe allotted for a movie

      AoS is miles better than any "actual" MCU show and one of, if not the top, comic book shows period. It's really amazing when you think about how limited their budget was and how massive most of their seasons were episode count wise was, being network tv, yet they were still able to produce such an amazing show with great CGI(for the most part) and really tight storylines.

    Great, great reaction! This is such a detailed and twisty movie that it keeps you guessing and intrigued. Plus the action is top notch (the fight starting at the overpass is one of the best in the MCU). And they pay off so much on the relationships started in Caps first movie and it'll continue.
    So excited to watch you explore this universe!

    Holy Mother of the Hulk that was a very enjoyable reaction, Jax. I appreciate your sense of humour and yes, I agree that this movie is a Tip Top MCU entry. Excellent writers and directors who will return... Seeing this in the cinema was a great experience. We didn't expect to see Peggy which was incredibly bittersweet, and her dementia moment was very sad. The "return" of Zola, Bucky and the excellent chemistry between Chris and Scarlett - just a fantastic film. I'm glad you are enjoying your MCU journey and look forward to the next instalment. The nearer you get to Endgame, the more careful you may have to be to avoid spoilers, so I hope your viewers will be kind in the comments. Guardians 1 up next..., see you then!

    Bucky's arm is actually made of Titanium. At the time, it was the strongest known metal other than Vibranium but is only a metal. It doesn't have all the other extraordinary properties that Vibranium has. It is also weaker than Ironman's armor which was made of a Titanium Alloy which is supposed to be 3-4 times stronger than Titanium.
    So. Yes there is a plot hole here but allowed for narrative. But Cap's shield in reality would have been able to slice right through Bucky's arm if used as a weapon.

Funny enough, I went to watch this movie in the theater 3 times but I only watched this movie once because I kept falling asleep at different times in each movie haha!     Steve doesn’t fight to kill. Bucky is trained to only kill. That’s why his fighting style is more lethal. And oh you just wait. 😈. Also the worse thing about your MCU reaction videos is making us wait so long for your next one. I watch a lot of these but yours might be my favorite ones. You are so insightful and really appreciate the artistry that the MCU is. People see “comic book movie” and are immediately turned off. But these are all so rich in content and you really get invested in the characters. The Captain America trilogy is the more serious note of all the main characters. Can’t wait for you to start the SpiderMan, AntMan and Guardians of The Galaxy trilogies.
