When I was growing up my parents bought an organ for our house. A small lowrey two keyboard organ. I spent eight years running my fingers over the ivory keyboards. My father became friends with one of the men who played the Wurlitzer organ at radio city music Hall. He came to our house and made amazing music out of our a little organ and then invited us to radio city music Hall for me to sit at the Wurlitzer organ there. All alone and 15 years old. My appreciation for organs is amazing. The beautiful music coming out of that organ in Atlantic City is unbelievable. I hope they’re able to raise the money and I would be happy to donate. Thanks for sharing!

Gave me goosebumps! In about 1990, when I lived in San Diego, the old Californian theatre still had its theatre organ, and would occasionally show silent movies. Well, the man who played it was 93, and I remember watching the 1926 film, Don Juan, with John Barrymore and Mary Astor with the man accompanying the entire thing. No sheet music, he simply watched the movie and played. You forgot he was there, the accompaniment was so perfect. Afterwards he got up and told us about his days of playing in the silent movie houses. You would have loved it Scott! A memory I will always cherish, and thanks for bringing it back to me. I look forward to more of this!
How Beautiful! As a child they never ( the Nuns) never let us up stairs to the church, we weren't adults, so downstairs cellar mass for the children, when I finally was older enough, to use upstairs,I thought this was what heaven, so beautifull and the sounds! I enjoy all the Pomp and Circumstance, now. Punished for being a child, so sad.
Thank you Scott! My mama died 6 years ago. She was a great organist! I grew up spending lots of time in the church while she practiced. I live in Huntsville Alabama. Mama loved to come visit here. One of my best memories with mama here was going to a Christmas organ recital. It was in a church built in the 1700’s….so you can imagine how beautiful it is. They had candles lit. It was spectacular! As we left the recital, the maple trees along the sidewalk were in full, beautiful golden display. The street lamps made them look as if they were plugged in! It was truly a sight to behold and the perfect ending for a perfect night! Thank you Scott for sharing this❤️

That is so cool! I'm amazed that it has survived at all because a lot of places like this they just gutted and gutted and gutted them, what a fabulous survivor and the organ is. Just so majestic It really stirs feelings in the soul. Just had a cool thought. Wouldn't it be amazing to do like a national skating convention there and have somebody play the pipe organ. Could you imagine thousands of people skating to this. Oh my God Thank you for sharing
If you arrive on Wed. mornings just before 10, there is a 2 hour tour where you get to climb inside of the pipe organ and walk all around even up 4 flights of floors!
I’ve enjoyed listening to this organ over the years of its restoration at the daily tours/concert. Always a thrill that gets better every time as additional ranks are restored.

Even though it’s only working at 50% capacity, it still sounds wonderful. I used to attend every year the Atlantique show they had at the convention center in the early 90’s and never knew that they had this organ. Thank you for enlightening us of this history.
Very impressive and massive-sounding for an organ that's only working at 50% capacity. What a travesty that the engineers / workers who designed and installed the air-conditioning units didn't have the foresight to realize the duct work would drip condensation on the pipes and cause them to corrode. Just a little bit of foresight could've stopped a huge restoration bill from happening. Will there be a thorough explanation of what all the keyboards do in the next video? I'm guessing the pedals at the bottom are for the really low bass notes, but all those keys on the front and sides really have me intrigued!

Everyone should hear a live pipe organ performance at sometime in their life! When we lived in Danville Illinois we used to love to go three places, Turkey Run state park, The Beef House and a pizza parlor in Indianapolis that had a complete pipe organ in it. I don’t believe it is open anymore and I don’t know what happened to the pipe organ. So sad to see these organs go down hill or disappear altogether. 👍💕

So it was very kinda cool to find your video this morning to kick off the day with such history and beautiful sound! Looks like another NJ trip to be planned in my future! 😂Thanks!! Yes. The two organs are only about 60 miles apart from each other and I'm fortunate to be able to hear them often.
