This is a nice exchange between two professional ladies. In a fragrance group, I saw Francesca refer to her creations as "little monsters". That was probably the thing that made me hold back on buying blind in the first place. I knew they were probably more complex than my simple pallet. I think I'll get the discovery set anyway. I just know there's beauty in the challenge. I need to grow my nose, anyway. Lol!
This fragrance is not for me either, I asked for a decant and nobody in my house liked it, I was glad that it was only a decant.
Francesca never change your recipes and please don't reformulate ! I am not going to write names here but niche perfumes are becoming designer these days . ALSO these scents evolve all day so 1 minute presentation is at least comedic . Thanks Francesca for making parfumes this way ! Greetings from Greece

I own all 12 FB perfumes. 'Extraits de parfum' should be tested/experienced on skin. SS can easily be worn in summer. FB is not niche but artistic, indie.
I thought I wouldn't like FB, so ordered the full discovery set. OMG these are incredible....The Dark Side is so meditative, I find Lovers Tale very comforting, actually. Under my Skin just leaves me speechless....so I def will be getting these.
I don't regard myself as "hardcore niche" but then again, I REALLY enjoy Zoologist MOTH.
As fragheads here, I think we can all agree how refreshing it is to listen to a reviewers honest opinion - thank you Josephine. Too many channels only praising fragrances and never voicing some of their "turn off" scents for fear of losing subscribers or offending the house. I am not a fan of FB or Zoologist because of the potent animalic notes but I am grateful we have choice and I am grateful to all perfumers for their craft! Whether you're into gourmond, oriental, chypre.....niche, indie, designer.....douse yourself in whatever makes you YOU.❤

I have tried Sticky Fingers and I am obsessed! I have realized I love patchouli fragrances and Sticky Fingers does not disappoint. It is boozy and sweet and spicy. Exactly my style. So gorgeous and long lasting. I am going to purchase the Francesca Bianchi Discovery Set to try more. Thank you for your wonderful, fun, informative channel. I have made several perfume purchases based on your videos.
Personally I love the FB dna - I own 5 bottles and need to try Tyger next. I love that they are strong and you are aware of them. I’ve still to find a zoologist I like so I wouldn’t let that comparison put you off. To me a lot of these are bedtime scents and I don’t mean to sleep.
Lover’s tale develops beautifully on skin don’t test them on paper

I tried all the samples included in the Discovery Set. My top four is: Sex and The Sea, Lost in Heaven, Sex and The Sea Neroli and The Lover's Tale. Great video, thanks. You're adorable.
The only one I enjoy from this line is Angel’s dust, because I love a very powdery scent. Strongly animalic scents are definitely not my favorite.

Many thanks for reviewing this house even if it's not your style. When you sniffed The Lovers Tale your face was so funny 😂. I have 6 in my collection but I've always liked strong scents. I'm from the 1980/90's generation who still wears Paris and Opium by YSL, Poison by Dior, Magie Noire and Tresor by Lancome etc, so I naturally gravitate towards Francesca Bianchi's style.

As a lover of niche fragrances I only find FB's fragrances challenging because I don't like animalic or leathery notes (and I purchased the discovery set knowing that😅). So if you are a fan of these notes, go try the discovery set and forget "being or not being that much into niche/indie frags". With FB one spray is enough for most of her creations, I'm thinking about Oud for Greatness as a comparison. Also, they aren't linear and develop a lot on the skin but as I said, all FB contains animalic or leather notes so; that's it. I remember trying Carnal Flower from Frederic Malle and the salesperson telling me how difficult that fragrance was... not for me, not at all, I enjoy tuberose so how is this perfume going to be complicated when being a tuberose bomb? When I got Portrait of a Lady and saw her face trying to 'warn me' I just ignored her. A lot of cult favourites of niche brands; say Xerjoff, By Killian, Fragrance Du Bois, Byredo, Memo Paris, BDK... are super simple to wear and enjoyable while being niche. So just a quick reminder that someone doesn't need to love niche to enjoy FB; nevertheless I have to admit that as they change a lot on the skin and are potent, you will experience a true olfactory trip for sure!

Many of her fragrances I have tried can be pulled during VERY HOT SUMMER IN GULF COUNTRIES and it projects, lasts long as winter time.....
I have fallen in love with the two samples have been able to find in my home country (NZ) and am thrilled they both suit my skin chemistry and my seemingly adventurous palate. I’m going to invest in full bottles of Under My Skin (such a feline smelling fragrance all fur and clean animalic musk) and Lost in Heaven (gloriously golden with vintage Mitsuoko vibes). You are right - so potent. Using a dabber I dropped one drop on my leggings. Insane projection. Funnily enough I’m also exploring Zoology fragrances and will be buying myself a bottle of Bee ❤️. Love your work

I Love FB. Best quality price out there. Amazing fragrances, creative, potent unique. I am an Angel girl though... probably as polarizing as angel by Mugler. To me they are a piece of art. I know when I am smelling FB, it is like nothing else. A little goes a long way.
Good review I guess you are a Dior sauvage fan. It’s ok, we like what we like. The first time I wore Sex and the Beach I thought it was unbelievable. I went to my chiropractor and all four female receptionist asked what what was wearing and made me write it down. The girl that took me to the office asked me for my number, I’m engaged so of course that didn’t happen. Next stop Costco. The girl behind me complimented me and the check out lady. The only fragrance I have had more compliments is Hawas believe it or not. Bianchi knows how to put a sexy fragrance together, that’s for sure.

Thanks for this vidéo dear Jospehine.... I tried Sex & the sea a few monthes ago and OMG I hate it.... it reminds me a man sweat after wearing a polyester sweater 🤪 and as usual : when you don’t like a perfume, it sticks to your skin and it’s very difficult to remove 😂😅
By the way I’m stil curious to discover other references of this brand...

I was hoping you'd give us your thoughts on all the fragrances since you have tried them all and there aren't that many. Still thanks a lot for this review! I've only ever smelled Sex and the sea Neroli, and I really don't like it because I do pick up on the coconut, but my mother absolutely adores it (which is really weird because she only wears light, fresh, citrusy cologne type scents).
Wow I did not expect you will say these are not your the type. Everyone is just in love with these. They say these are very very sensual. I still haven't tried them but I definitely plan to.

I am very amused to see you for the first time palpably in pain when reviewing perfumes (perhaps only a selection of Amouage edps had a similar effect on you). I know the perfumes of my compatriot Francesca. Some of them are really beautiful and well built. The only limitation is that maybe they squeal a little too much. For perfumes characterized by an overwhelming animalic note, I originally solved the problem by discarding them because they create an olfactory atmosphere that I don't like. If you are reading me, keep it up Francesca !!! Always be yourself. And you too, Josephine, who, due to your extremely refined and delicate taste, are unable to conceal an evident intolerance towards these works. You are both excellent professionals.

When I began to imagine based on your description, I was immediately transported to medieval times where this type of fragrance could hide a little the fact of not bathing. In my opinion they are hyper powerful extracts without disqualifying how wonderful it is to create them. your faces made me laugh

I tried all the fragrances from her discovery set and unfortunately they just don’t work for me. Not really my style and I do think they’re quite challenging scents too. In a similar challenging way as Zoologist, of course very different scent profiles. I do love hummingbird from zoologist and a few others, I can appreciate the creativity of the fragrances. Wearing them on the other hand I’m not too sure (except hummingbird which I wear in the summer from time to time!) 😊
I want to try sex and the sea neroli but I don't know if it is animalic and I'm not into animalic scents so I think this house is not for me . Thanks for this review , trust your opinion 100% you know what you talking about !😊
Since it's winter better try 'Angel's Dust', 'Sticky Fingers' or 'The Dark Side' that is a mind-blowing cozy perfume - these are easy to wear and SF very addictive.
Animalic does not mean stinky, aforementioned perfumes are imo not animalic, they are sophisticated and easy to wear.

The comparison is made in terms of strength and creativity of the fragrances. Zoologist fragrances are so interesting olfactively speaking and satisfy the crave for something different but I find them quite difficult to wear. The same goes for FB 😊

“Stink” is subjective; please allow me to assume that you mean these aren’t *your* style/ type of fragrances? My skin eats fragrance (even after heavy moisturiser & petroleum jelly!) & what some call “animalic” or “a beast” become skin scents *at best* on me. So I go for the fragrances that Josephine so respectfully described as my weird body chemistry will choose the more appealing notes so I smell “normal” but I get the longevity & silage I like. It’s very odd & I’ve only noticed recently when trying a new animalic scent! I’d love to wear many of the lovely scents recommended but know it’s a waste😕. I’ve been wearing my old 70-90s beasts (I bet you’d dislike every OP of designer frags still being made😉) over a decade as I wasted so much $$$ buying what’s most accessible designer-wise (my life was so insane I couldn’t do any research outside of whatever I was simultaneously doing😵💫) prior to that & was always complimented, but the newer, “trendier” frags got zip! Have a lovely week! Needless to say I just need to pull that darn trigger, suck up the shipping to the US & go for it!🤣 Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️
If you dislike animalic or leathery notes of course they "stink" for you. But if you were passionate about these notes I'm sure you wouldn't express yourself like this. As for me, I don't like animalic or leather and when I bought the discovery set I could appreciate them as the beasts they are but wouldn't wear because... well, I dislike those notes and still wanted to try her creations 🤝.
These are animal smelling line to me sad to say.
