    Hey guys , not an oilers fan in general but a hockey fan . Never missed an episode this year . I loved every minute and was rooting for the oilers just for the epic story it would be . Thanks for all the laughs and hard work

    No shame Oilers, the Panthers played a solid game. But…I thought Oilers should have shot more from the points. They looked a little too calm and perfectionist at times as time wound down, starting with Ekholm’s pass straight to a Panther in the Florida slot, to Bouch chilling behind his net with less than 30 seconds left. I would have liked to see some more desperation in those final minutes. What I think the Oil needs is a more systematic way to get good chances on net. They gotta be more gritty, not just pretty.
    Everyone loves the pretty offence, like perfect sharp angle Drai shots, Nuge’s wristers under the blocker, or 97’s threading through defenders, but they need more gritty offence, like a young Perry, a Kenny Linseman, a Rick Tocchet, or a McLeod taking Hyman lessons to heart, and the net. I’d like more of what Jon Goyens on Daily Faceoff described about the Rangers O, consisting of layers of players rotating netfront to tip the puck.
    Holland did a great job (the big Campbell miss aside). The team improved every year under him, up to a 2-1 SCF Gm 7 loss. Thanks to Knoblauch his final grade is higher than a 'B'. GoooOooiillerrrrrzzz!

    In game 7, Oilers played like in games 1, 2, 3. Didn't shoot enough. Panthers defensive play was strong and Oilers was bit too loose. Was a game either team could've won though.

      Games 1 and 3 the oilers outshot the panthers 32 - 18 and 35 - 23. They came up against a goaltender in those two games that kept them from scoring on most of their insanely high danger chances. Bob playing well in those 2 games and the panthers being willing to throw 3 bodies in front of every shot the oilers took in game 7 is what made the difference in the series. We could've won in game 5 or 6 if not for Bob early in the series and we lost by inches last night. I mean mcdavid and hyman in front of the net on an open net and the Panthers just dove face-first in front of the net to keep it out. They did what they needed to in order to win and they deserve it for that reason, but we were the better team in 5 or 6 of those 7 games.

    Could be as simple as this....The Panthers SYSTEM was ready for Edmonton and it scorched the Oilers, the Oilers Coaches huddled up and formulated a response then adjusted their own SYSTEM and scorched Florida, then in approximately the same time limit and with the same resources the Panthers huddled together and formulated a SUPERIOR SYSTEM plan to use to turn the entire Series and to win Game 7....Panthers got the last and Superior adjustment in with a little help from an Anonymous online Friend . Had edmonton been given more time they would have responded and adjusted again and so on and so forth. Make no mistake it was a SUPERIOR SYSTEM Managed by an Experienced Coach that won the Stanley Cup. Mumford was a Trojan Horse and all the Oilers vim and vigor had been drained away by his BS spin doctoring

    Oilers needed scoring in game 7. And didn't get. That's the story of game. When your big guns get nothing... its not a recipe for success.

    After sleeping off the initial sadness and pain, we can now look toward the future. Broberg and Holloway are both going to be massive pieces of this team moving forward. Ceci needs to go, Perry is washed, Mcleod is a bit too soft. Replace the weak links, elevate the young guys and we will be back next year even stronger.

    Knoblauch has to become unafraid of making changes to a winning lineup. I think Kane in for DRyan would have helped. Nothing against #10, but you kinda knew the Panthers would revert in a big way back to their highly physical style.

      I wanted that but after three wins the fan base wanted No Change , Big Mistake, sit the $5 Mil tough , sniper , his shot could have tied it , Our Big Guys Didn’t Deliver, refs bury there whistles, that hurts the more skilled team ofcourse…….Extremely Disappointed, No Second Gretzky Yet……..Didn’t Happen

  • @davidandersgage-pd3kr

    No points for 97 in games 6 and 7 !! The 25 game playoff marathon is a Grind !! Drai clearly Hurt !! Kulak backed in way too much on the second goal !! Big boys didn’t get it done in the end, No Nuge, Drai Hurt , Bouch hit the iron, refs threw away their whistles , which hurts us ofcourse !! Shitty ice, no wild crowd , pushing the Oil…..Home Ice Advantage , was a big factor again….Gutted, I bet a Grand Connor would Deliver, the top guys would get it done, He Didn’t !! Love the boys but All Of Canada, waited for it , to be a Gretzky , You Need To Deliver !! Hope they get back next year, no guarantee on that…..need some new energy , players brought in, Kane being out didn’t help, tough and a sniper !! Gutted , Very Disappointed!!

    5+ goal differential in the Finals for a losing team isn't that bad. Not sure what the records are for that. Finally, a really close one. Best game 7 of all time, in my opinion.

Lost a Grand on this Game , Believed In McDavid To Deliver , He Didn’t , Wanted a Gretzky-like Display in Game 7 , it didn’t happen, Mega-Chance Missed !!! Ultra-disappointing……..this was far from the Best Oilers Tonight………

    Florida won the cup for the first time in franchise history after loosing in the finals last year. Connor McDavid won the Conn Smythe as the MVP of the playoffs (he didn't come out for the trophy, he wanted the cup).
    So I couldn't watch or listen to the game. I have treatments on Monday's that make that pretty much impossible. I tried catching what I could but just couldn't watch or listen to a lot.
    The stats tell and interesting back and forth in some ways but the key stats for me are Giveaways, Takeaways, and Blocked Shots. Oilers had less giveaways (by 4) (good). They also had 5 less takeaways (not good) and 4 less blocks (13 for the Oilers, 17 for the Panthers, also not good). The Panthers out hit Edmonton 30 to 19 (so by 11). Edmonton was slightly better in the faceoff circle and took 1 extra penalty though both PK's were at 100% and no one scored on the PP. By all accounts this was a good and very close game that the Panthers just did a little more to win.
    Mentioned it to a friend's son once but it's possible to do your best and do everything right yet still lose because others can be better. In this game Leon didn't even get a Shot on Goal and Connor had 2. The big 4 were offensively invisible. That is a good for the Panthers and a Bad for the Oilers.
    I hope the Oilers get there, I hope they hoist the cup again (and I hope it's next year). Hope is understanding but a lot of things have to happen for there to be realistic hope. To all of those that have followed hockey and who's youtube sites I've ever posted on I want to thank-you for your support of hockey and, most of all, the Oilers.
    To all the fans of every team it is possible your team will get there, you do have a chance and you can also feel the wildest of high's and the lowest of low's and everything in-between. Never give up. Never surrender to the apathy that can happen. Make sure your team knows that you support them.
    I am so grateful to my community, my home city of Edmonton. The fans here are wonderful (and very very loud) in their support. I'm grateful to the Oilers fans across the planet, old and new. Those that may have just seen hockey for the first time or those that have been watching or playing for decades. Thank-you for allowing me to contribute in my way and for those that have supported my efforts. Take care all.

    Are you kidding?.... it kills me that they didn't win the cup... especially after being 2-9-1...especially having a guy like McDavid...especially being down 0-3...especially after Drai saying "cup or bust"...
    Some fans and media in this city should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.....
    I moved from Lethbridge to Edmonton 30 years ago (business) and I have NEVER, EVER seen a fan base or so called "media" turn on a team.
    For example...Bob Stauffer on Reinharts goal, 2 games ago, Skinner was an "unbelievable guardienne", couldn't say enough good things , the reincarnate of a piece of plywood. On Reinhart's goal tonight?..."NO QUESTION STUART SHOULD HAVE HAD THAT GOAL....CANNOT LET IN A SHORTHANDED GOAL FROM THAT FAR OUT"...."BAD, BAD GOAL"
    These 2 ( Shauggy and Struds)... for 5 minutes, cutting down players on a play that happened at warp speed. "Ceci should have done this, Kulak should have done that"
    It's been like that for the 30 years I've been here...Terry Jones ( Sun journalist) was the worst, once he got his hooks into a players....you knew damn well, that player was gone.
    Don't even get me started on some of the fans....I listen to post game on 630 CHED, after a loss, HOLY SH*T !!!!.....1,000 GMs phone in. After a win, Rob and Reid just talk to each other, so I phone in just to show them the phone line hasn't been cut.
    So getting back to my original point.... I'm devastated that they didn't win the cup, but it wasn't because of Ceci, or Kulak or Skinner or Knoblauch for not putting in Kane or Connor or Leon.....Florida has an extremely good team. Well coached and extremely motivated.
    GO OILERS GOOOOO
    BTW.... because of the media and fans, Ceci won't be here next year.
    Thanks for letting me vent. 😊😊

    Really too bad that Panther fans were on here trolling when it was live, and doing the same all over the internet, seeing how quiet they were all series. I had felt like they were a pretty decent and borderline likable fanbase. Completely changed my mind with this classless showing once they won it. If my team just won the cup, I'd be out celebrating, not trolling on the internet. Get a life.

    I'll say this much, the Oilers need to do better early on in the regular season next year. Aside from LA they were the road team throughout the entire playoffs Not a good sign. And I'm sorry while I like/respect McDavid he didn't rise the to the occasion tonight. You want to be considered an all time great? Then he NEEDED to find a way breakthrough tonight. Something, anything, .Edmonton can't win a cup when both McDavid and Drai aren't playing well. 1 out of 2 needed to get going, plus RNH and Hyman. THe bottom 6 did their job tonight and through the last half of the series. The top lines failed the Oilers.

      Where did Drai's backhand go??? Must be the finger and/or rib, or more. Bob had his sharp angle shot figured out. 29 needs to do more than just that shot. Nuge has to diversify his offence too, which I thought was happening during the Vancouver series.

    • @Yams1814
      @Yams1814 Před 9 dny

      They would have had to have the best record in the nhl to have home ice. Even if they started better they probably wouldn’t have had home ice not to be negative just kind of true.

    • @hardcaliber19
      @hardcaliber19 Před 9 dny

      Maybe this is the last lesson they had to learn. That contrary to what McD and Drai so clearly told themselves this year, the regular season does matter. If that game was played in Edmonton, I have no doubt they win it. Time to do it for a full season if they want to win.

    • @joetoh6675
      @joetoh6675 Před 9 dny

      @@hardcaliber19 Like McCurdy said, it was like '06 vs the Canes, when they lost Gm7, but really they lost the series by playing well in Gm1 but not locking down that win. That's another lesson to learn, what Ekholm talked about -- ya gotta start the series on time, no dipping the toe in the water.
