Lindsey is the first woman in SOAR history to fly the AH-6M Little Bird and is currently serving as a Platoon Leader for the organization.
Lindsey graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2014 and branched Aviation. During her time at West Point she majored in American Politics. She was the captain of the Army Women’s Track and Field team where she competed in the pentathlon, heptathlon, and 400m hurdles in the Patriot League. Before her senior year she was named Brigade Commander and First Captain for the 2013-2014 Academic Year; only the fourth female to hold this position in the history of the academy. Business Insider named her one of the 12 most Incredibly Impressive Students to Graduate College in 2014 and she was featured in a New York Times article, Women of West Point. During her time at West Point she completed Airborne School, Air Assault School and worked at the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington D.C.
Upon graduation from West Point, Lindsey attended flight school at Fort Rucker, AL where she chose to fly the AH-64D Apache Helicopter. She then served three years in 3-6 CAV at Fort Bliss, TX as a Platoon Leader and Assistant S3. During her time in 3-6 CAV, Lindsey assessed for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) where she assessed favorably to fly the AH-6M Little Bird.

Being an AH-6 pilot in the 160th is arguably the most difficult and demanding helicopter pilot slot in the military. Little Bird Pilots, especially the attack pilots, are notorious for holding themselves and their fellow pilots to incredibly high standards. They're known for not sugarcoating their criticism for one another when mistakes are made, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem. The stress to perform perfectly, especially coming in as a woman into the boys club that is Special Operations, must be incredibly high. This woman is a fucking badass.

I’d advise anyone thst wants to see some great 160th footage, look up the Special operations demonstration in Tampa Florida, it’s professionally filmed by the military and on a number of CZcams channels, the demonstration involves all 160th Helicopters , Littlebirds delivering sniper assets to strategic roof tops and then overwatch and sniper cover for the special boats operations and the dropped boats from the UH60’s and Chinook, and it’s so realistic with all machine guns and mini guns on the Blackhawks loaded with blanks so it’s constant minigun brttt and fire from the operators.. I’ve never seen little birds lift off a high rise and dump straight down in a long dive to low level flight like thst and the braking maneuver of the Blackhawks prior to dropping SEALs in the water is crazy they seem to nearly dip their tails in the water and stick the nose vertical to stop all while mini guns going nuts and the special operation gun boats 6 weapon systems each blasting away . I thinks there’s 3 years on CZcams of the event, 2019 being the last I believe but something I’ve watched 100 times!

@@brandondougherty1158 I think, as a former AH-64 pilot, the logistics and capability of the AH-6 better suit the SOCOM community. The precision of a scalpel vs. a splitting maul. Not to mention, the AH-6 is a multi-purpose platform, in that it can also insert a squad-sized element.

They do not. The AH-6 fills a more precise role. The modified Blackhawk better fills the Apache role in the Regiment.

That is awesome that females can serve in the 160th SOAR! I am happy that the US Army lowered PT standards enough, so that women can be part of Special Operations. We need a more inclusive military. We need a trans individual in SPEC.OPS now and the military better pay for them to transition if necessary! Lindsey Danilack is a hero just for existing!

In today's political correctness and 'diversity' training and even the military checking all the boxes of 'diversity', how do people feel about maybe being selected and promoted as a diversity selection over others that are smarter and more qualified? She even says she was selected over smarter people.19:30 Does it even matter in today's environment -just as long as you're selected; hired; promoted over smarter more qualified?

@@armanrazaknazir5352 Prior experience as enlisted is a huge resume boost for officers, as it should be. Almost, but not as big of a boost as attending a US Military academy, so those 'peers' are presumably more experienced and better at leadership.
Again, she was selected to check a 'diversity' box and not because she is smarter or better than others in her MOS/Branch.
Down to the eventual question: How can a person proudly serve in a role knowing they were selected to do so simply because of race or gender?
