Kollegah is the best German Rapper especially when it comes to lyrics and word games … even the most Germans can’t get most of the word games he’s making fr….. one of the best word games was *weil sie so einen Müller (the famous German soccer player Thomas Müller) zeugen, wie die Eltern von Thomas* = Müller zeugen means give birth to Müller but when u put the words toghter like Müll erzeugen it means produce trash …. So on one Hand it means “… because they give birth to Müller like the family of Thomas and on the other hand because the produce trash like the family of Thomas …. Was really hard to explain but it sound even doper when u are into German !

The Problem with translating Kollegah Lyrics to english is that all that insane wordplay he does with the german language gets lost. For example:
"But it has a stale aftertaste like clams how they push their egos"
It sounds whack in english but how he said it in German was: "Haben einen Schalen Beigeschmack wie Muscheln wie sie ihre Egos pushen" What directly translates to english in some way of: "tasting like a shell just like clams how they push their egos". In German "tasting like shell" is basically a saying for "for a thing which is basically good but has like a bitter sideeffect".
And that's just one of many examples of wordplay he does in german.

Well, that's a good example why I never really thought about checking more rap out. I just can't stand the dialect and the gangsta rap. Especially in Germany. I'm not saying that we have really bad areas to grow up in Germany, but we also have a decent social support system and free education. So it should be easier to improve your life than it is in many other countries.

Why the hack has Kollegah still that many fans. I am from Germany, and there are some debates in the public media about him, that provide a common sense for most of us here. Some of Kollegahs tracks are antisemitic and even if it's rap( and in addition to that a kind of street rap or gangster rap) it is sad that he is only rapping about drugs and guns and money and women (in the worst way you could do). There are plenty of ways to do this ironically and despite all the irony even authentic storytelling, but he is such a misogynist and sells his products too young stupid people who will hate me for this comment now. But people who follow you for the Harry Mack reactions for example can not appreciate the greatnes of HMack who is kind and treats everyone with dignity and on the other hand follow such a bad person like Kollegah, even if he is a phenomenal rapper.
I am sorry for this hate speech. I really liked Kollegah for a long time and I still think he is a genius in terms of writng lyrics. But there are so many good mcs in Germany. Please react to something else than Kollegah the next time, even if it's a patreon suggestion.
