In the factory, this is called the gear cutting of the gear, that is, the process of gear formation. In a technical school or university, we considered how teeth are cut, as well as the types of gear wheels, but when I saw all this with an example, everything became more clear. And at that moment the question - how to make a gear wheel, I no longer had. What can I say, all gear wheels are made according to approximately the same laws, but there are some differences. Sometimes the method of cutting teeth is chosen based on the design of the unit where they enter, and sometimes on the availability of equipment for their manufacture. The types of gear teeth are determined by the design engineer, but the production of gears itself is determined by the process engineer, he also decides which gear drives, to set up on which gear cutting machine. In modern mechanical engineering, gear cutting works are carried out on modern equipment and the question of how to make a gear does not arise for you.
