Nope, as it turns out, the problem was with the "common shared pool feed" used by US networks. A separate feed was used by International [non-USA] networks, which did not have the sound dropouts and distortion. The versions that aired in Australia, Germany, etc, were different and strikingly better. They are starting to show up all over YT now.
In the other audio, it sounds a lot more echoey and it sounds louder but overall it pretty much sounds the same.. She definitely has a nice voice but it's not as loud because she's not projecting as much, but it makes sense because that's not her goal

Francis Scott Key composed this song 202 years ago near Fort McHenry on Baltimore harbor "after a fierce night of British bombardment".
