IMHO, the invasion of Iraq was a wrong, yet they are now allies of the West. The invasion of Afghanistan was because they nurtured the group that attacked the twin towers in the US. The invasion of Libya, Syria and Serbia are just your Putin fantasies.
I am interested in your opinion on the Russian invasion of Afghanistan and support for Syria's murderous fascist leader Bashar al-Assad.

In the former he offers an intense critique of leadership at the upper levels of the Ukrainian defence forces. In the latter he offers what I think is the most scathing critique of the mismanagement of the "F16 project". These are not the sole focus of his work. I find the tone of Francis' report to be hyperbolically alarmist. He has a tendency to use overblown rhetoric at times. It's as if he's trying to generate "clickbait" (yellow journalism, anyone?). He also comes across in this report as being so afraid of the Russians that he's inclined toward appeasement (a la Neville Chamberlain) toward Russia, either out of fear or due to possibly unstated sympathies with the adversary (as in the expression "identification with the aggressor").
The point being that Chamberlain should have taught us that appeasement will get one nowhere when dealing with an aggressive tyrant. Yes, the Russians might get mad if Europe resists them, but he's already just about as mad as he's ever likely to be, and resistance is exactly what is called for in this situation.
