To be fair, *spoiler* she was bullied really badly from early childhood to when she is forced to go to the school. If you're bullied for long enough you tend to just quietly take it most of the time unfortunately. She also does try to leave a few times but basically everyone is in on it. She's likely thinking "wtf?!" The whole time though.

The main problem with the animated series is that all the routes were smashed together, whereas the games have you choose a route (your man). Yui's personality is greatly determined by the vampire she chooses, which is why in the animated series she didn't have much of a personality.
