Banger racing is a form of full contact motorsport where there is often awards for both the race winner and best crasher, as well as sometimes other awards including the best wrecked (driver with the most destroyed car) and special awards for unique or well presented cars. While similar in concept to demolition derby's in the USA, banger racing takes place on an oval course where the speeds are typically much higher and therefore the hits are much harder. While there are awards and sometimes small cash prizes on offer, most drivers choose to race for the thrill or to entertain the crowd. Banger Racing is popular in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Holland and Belgium.

Man l wonder how many people have gotten injured or even a body count this looks like rush hour on interstate 90/94 in Chicago IL
Minor injuries like bruises and the odd broken bone etc do happen. Serious injuries are pretty rare and no ones died in a crash doing this since 2005

Can you do a vid on the rules and what they do to the cars prep wise.
In australia our demo derbys are shit compared to this at a good meet were i live we get 6 cars tops and half a fucked before the first hit.
Don’t see how they keep from killing each other...
It’s all in the way the cars are built, the drivers compartment is essentially a reinforced metal box while the rest of the car absorbs the impact
Is there a Best appearing car award for some of these races ?

I made it a goal of mine to make it overseas to see some banger racing. Any suggestions for good one to go to?
The biggest meetings tend to vary from year to year, but my personal favourite tracks are King’s Lynn and Mildenhall. Ideally you want to pick a meeting where there are 100/200+ bangers booked in to race!
Do banger guys get in fights with each other?
On a rare occasion but usually most scores are settled on track

Why do you see like two cars painted the same killing each other win it's obvious that they are buddy's or teammates? I can see ones you killed every other car and it comes to the win buddy or not last man standing but you see them going at it right out the gate
Where are you seeing that mate? Normally team mates only hit each other if they’re the only ones left
I have seen it a lot, in so many of the videos that I have watched unless the other cars are painted to close to tell apart that I don't know
