Most people around the world think that Russia and the USA are very far from each other,
why? because we are used to a map where Russa is far on the right and USA is far on the left. But the truth is that these are neighboring countries! Yes!
From Alaska to Russia, the closest point is about 88 kilometers in distance! and actually, the real closest point is between the Big Diomede Island (Russia) and Little Diomede Island (US), they are only 3.8 km (2.4 mi) apart
Follow Alan's Theory for more videos that will open your mind in different ways 😃

Actually, while the distance between MAINLAND Russia and MAINLAND US is about 88km, he’s not being accurate here and the video misrepresents the facts. Russia and the US are technically only 2.4 miles (4km)from each other. In the middle of the Bering Strait are two small islands; Big Diomedes and Little Diomedes. Big Diomedes is part of Russia (but has no inhabitants). Little Diomedes is part of the US (and has approx 100+ inhabitants). Ironically, about halfway through the video he shows a view with the US in the foreground, and Russia in the background, implying that it is the view from 88km away. That picture is actually the view from Little Diomedes (US) looking at Big Diomedes (Russia) 2.4 miles distant. It’s not the view from mainland Alaska. Check it yourself!

Actually russia and the USA are about 4km away. Between Russia and Alaska are 2 islands called Big Diomede which is russian and Diomede wich is american. When its winter you can walk to the other island when the ocean is frozen
