Sometimes the other team doesn’t let you do the things that you want to do.
The Canucks played well except for the 3rd period. Apart from that they were leading the game and only because of Myers losing his balance, McDavid scored the tying goal. The 3rd was just bad because the Canucks kept throwing the puck up the boards clearing it instead of skating it up ice. Just giving it back to the Oilers, It's what inexperience does.

actually, should of been a penalty on the play that McDavid scored on. Really - watch it again. If there was one called, then plays is whistled down as Myers touched the puck. Seriously, read the rule book. Watch the play - the pass was to Hyman, but Soucy stepped up and hit Hyman before the puck got there - that is spelled I N T E R F E R E N C E - look it up! But fortunately for the Oil, the refs had put their whistles away, and the interference actually caught his own player as well, leaving a speeding McDavid rushing on to Myers, who did what any other dman in the NHL would do in that situation, P A N I C (I see it all the time since I watch all the Oiler games). So you need to back up your statement and rephrase - if Soucey hadn't of interfered with Hyman is how your sentence should of started. And that's why you play those guys the way you do - I really hope Tocchet does send the dogs on them. What you think every other game Drai and McD play the other team just lets them skate? L M A O
@@conservativeamber1216 Yes that was just bad luck but they again they got that opportunity because of the Canucks handing them the puck. The Canucks are a great a team and I think better than the Oilers if they continue to work hard. Thank god we have a couple of Veterans like Miller to teach the younger players on how to go far in the playoffs.
The animosity between both fan bases is an amazing sight - dare I say almost as violent as the battle of Alberta - game 3 is going to be loudddddd in oil country!

I think Toch made a bit of an admission there when he mentioned the Canucks and “playing scared”, that’s exactly what it looked it like to me. Obviously McDavid and Draisatal are great players but I don’t think revealing how much you’re afraid of getting burned by them is the right move and it looked obvious to me the majority of the Canucks were immensely intimidated by them. Even if that IS the case, I think they have to try to figure out a way to play like they aren’t so intimidated by them(fake it ‘till you make it?). Whether it’s throwing caution to the wind and seeing what happens or something else. It’s potentially a huge problem if they don’t snap out of it immediately, because if they give them that much respect / room or whatever it is again, the result will probably be the same. In the 3rd It was 5 on 5 and the Canucks kept setting up like they were killing a penalty, immediately they would box up and let the Oil throw the puck around like they were on a PP, they should not do that imho.
We soundly beat Edmonton at the beginning of the season and left them RATTLED, WHY would we be afraid of him/them NOW...

When you really hit the Oilers Stars they always go away....thats why they brought in the injured Kane who we now know came with Sports Hernias and Perry who they lured out of his Wheelchair and Carrick whos not even playing.... you DO NOT HAVE TO HIT ALL OF THEM EVERY PLAYACTION and be All-IN physically but you MUST ALWAYS BE ALL-IN HITTING THE TOP 4 CORE OILERS. Gap up on the Core-4 and SMASH them....if you wear them down its like melting off race car slicks, the horsepower is useless without traction. DO NOT go full Gump and hit everyone in sight, just target those 4 with massive bombs all game long.Dont engage their mediators like Kane or Perry ignore their agitators... and hit Nurse hes easy to get worked up and off his game, same with Eckholm and Draisaitl and Hyman and a lot of Oilers do not like getting hit clean and hard more than once or twice a game. Dont hit the Plugs make the Plugs skate...but crush the Core-4 and it will cause them to retaliate because if they dont then getting past the 2nd round in pieces with small chance of going all the way becomes a possibility.Skinner doesnt like getting his hair messed up either. Yes, do not play hot potato with pucks and keep voluntarily surrendering so many of them but do not get caught overhandeling in your own end either or skirmishes there could end up in your net....make their zone the skirmish zone... then,grind it to the net IN PAIRS(once you cross their blueline work in pairs of 2 quick and complete) at 75% speeds using KISS give and goes, no overpassing and finishing with quickstrike shots re-directs and one-timers or tap-ins. Complete the give-and-goes and you will be rewarded Exploit and expose Seaweed in the slot.

Huge difference I see between the teams is that the Canucks play that hard grinding style of hockey with great offence and the Oilers have had to try and match that so they can get some room so they can use their weapons like McDavid and Draisaitl. Although it's not normal for them to use that type of style where as the Canucks have been doing it all year. Grinding is their style and that is where it should push them through to win this series. The Oilers are good too, although relying on skill only can be dampened in the playoffs.

Oilers are the better team. Easily the better top pairing dmen and better forwards. Goaltending probably leans Canucks and defensive depth Vancouver. Oilers top 6 is far superior. Canucks bottom 6 is slightly better. Overall Oilers come out ahead.
I agree with a lot of your points, but I think I disagree that they're the better team. The Oilers have the 2 best players, but I think the Canucks are the better team overall. Petterson, Miller, Boeser and Hughes are no joke and adding Zadorov and Lindholm has already paid off. And probably their best player, Demko, has been out for most of the playoffs. I'm not here to trash the Oilers or fangirl for the Canucks, just dropping an opinion. Should be an intense, long series!
The fact that McDavid high sticked Hughes in the face, and didn't get 4m shows Kelley Sutherland hates the Canucks. Don't get me started on the rest of it.
If Hughes did that to McDavid, he'd get a penalty right away.
