  • Description:
    In this comprehensive video tutorial, we dive deep into the design process for reinforced concrete two-way slabs, providing a step-by-step guide that follows the guidelines set by Eurocode 2 and the Ethiopian Building Code Standard (EBCS) 2.
    Throughout the video, we cover all the essential aspects of two-way slab design, including:
    Evaluating loads and load combinations
    Analyzing moments and shear forces
    Determining the appropriate reinforcement layout
    Verifying deflection and crack control measures to ensure serviceability limits are met
    Checking the design against shear failure and providing necessary shear reinforcement
    Exploring detailed requirements for reinforcement placement and spacing
    By adhering to the principles outlined in Eurocode 2 and EBCS 2, we ensure that our design meets both international and local standards, resulting in a robust, safe, and efficient two-way slab system.

    Do we not consider deflection in the long span?
    If so l/d actual will it be 6000/d?

    What about moment adjustment....?

      @Civiltimes2210  Před 2 lety

      You can do moment adjustment but taking the maximum of the two support moment is more practical.

    why you used Bs8110 code to take the BSX because this design base on Eurocode 2.

    • @Civiltimes2210
      @Civiltimes2210  Před 3 měsíci

      Eurocode 2 offers a broad approach to structural design. Still, locally developed tables like those from British Standards can be beneficial when they align with Eurocode's principles. They simplify complex calculations and address specific local needs. Integrating these standards enhances both compliance and practicality in engineering practices.
