In vault 68, the men did turn tribal but they had more like a clan kinda like the khans. They had a power structure with the biggest and strongest at the top. The leader would be the only one to wrestle with the woman. After some time the population went down and down until it was 0

A boy and his dog is free on CZcams. Entire movie. It's basically fallout the movie before it's time. Incredibly well done and extremely close to the fallout universe in a ton of ways. Probably inspired the franchise next to mad Max and wasteland.
the devs for fallout were inspired by that movie ... they actualy lifted some things directly from that movie such as the dog's name (Dog Meat) . and cannibalism. as well as their underground vaults themselves. this is not a"probably inspried " case , it defintiely inspired them, so to say it's like fallout in movie form is kind of insulting to the movie , as fallout was more or less the movie in a game.

The movie was title "a Boy and his dog " not man. i've seen the movie a long time ago when i was in high school before i ever played fallout. actualy The movie heavily inspired the falloput game. it had a lot of key elements you see in fallout. you got a desert world after a nuclear apocolypse , you got a dude going around with a dog as a companion. the dog's name is Dogmeat in the movie (something fallout directly lifted from the movie) , it's got canibalism. and a vault of underground dwellers. not sure if cooper howard was in it or not.
@@DenverStarkey Cooper Howard is a character from the Fallout show. In the show there is a movie poster with him about the movie "A man and his dog" which is a reference to the real movie you watched. Hope that clears it up.

Actually no, it wasn't a bunch of women in that film. It was an underground colony that needed his fresh seed because the men there were no longer capable of getting the job done with theirs.' Facing eventual extinction in the near future, they took him and milked him to get their young women pregnant.

A Boy and His Dog is a great movie. A clear cut inspection for Fallout. With the vaults, look of the people, backstory is similar plus ghouls
Let's not leave out the fact that the male in Vault 69 turned out to he infertile. It was already doomed from the start since even if he was fertile, the vault's genetic diversity would quickly crumble.

I love how this clearly explains the true nature of humans. A lot of men will get together and try to do the right thing until differences or emotions can get in the way. Women start off emotional and therefore pretty much have a baseline of less morals and we'll go straight to the most ruthless thing to get what they want

a boy and his dog was one of the largest influences on the dev team that made the Fallout games. i sw the movie years ago when i was in high school (around 94-95). great movie. and the vault wasn't all women in that movie , it's just the men had all developed into shooting blanks.
also they directly lifted the dog's name from this movie for the dog in fallout games (dog meat)

People are saying inbreeding is a huge issue but it’s not really. Only full siblings inbreeding are a major issue. There would be a small chance of some genetic defects with the first generation of half siblings breeding but after that there would be basically no risk in the second generation onward being only 1/4 related
Edit: this is assuming the 1 bottle neck (1 man or 1 woman in the vault) doesn’t have any major health issues or genetic defects already. If the single ancestor does have issues, those issues will get worse

there are technically ways to get around the genetic issues of vault 68 and 69 so you don’t get a bunch of half siblings making inbred children but it would probably involve a lot of REALLY unsavory practices

Vault 69 is only mentioned in the fallout Bible, it's also mentioned in one man and a crate of puppets, which is still considered a canon source.
I wrote a version of 69 based on "A Boy and his Dog", seems like this guy might've read it. I've seen people on Reddit who believed it was actual canon.
