Somehow, I like watching gaming tournaments. They're always so intense and it brings both the good and bad out'a the players. Really fun in my opinion^^

I can't say I'm surprised I found someone like you on an IGN video.
This is why I like competitive fighting games opposed to other genres, generally fighting game players aren't as bitter especially compared to FPS, and at the end of the day it's all about fun.
Both play very well
10 years later and now Buff Zato came back and is the Endboss of Guilty Gear Strive. Love to see it!
Also: This is just sport. No difference to soccer, football, chess, boxing, whatever. These people show the extremes you can get to with dedication.

i watched this live was sooo intense...every thought daigo would leave with the title but i knew a newcomer would come and surprise everyone like gamerbee did
Fuudo is the best Virtua Fighter player in the world nice to see him cross over to something hes not known for and still win Evo playing it.
In my heart, Latif is the champion! I love Fudo, but Latif was a legend in this tournament

@@thelittlefish5016he got beat convincingly in the GF yeah, but taking out prime Daigo, prime Poongko and Tokido makes it a legendary tournament run by any standard.

I agree, Street Fighter and pretty much the whole Fighter Genre is becoming a type of games with the similar complexity and deepness found in classic games like chess.

@600baller That's because SBO is a private tournament. Evo is open to the public, and anyone can come and watch. It gets everybody hype anyways, so I don't see the big problem with it.

its a counter ultra it only works if he is hit by an armor breaking move. If you are referring to the jumping light kick latif came in with; no latif did not get hit by fuudos ultra. if you are referring to whne latif ultra'd; no latif did not get hit because latif's ultra is armor breaking.

You people gotta go watch the earlier matches. Latif played 3 games straight before this one; all nerve racking, all close, all against pros. Fuudo won because he practiced the counters against Viper and read Latif correctly. Latif probably couldn't think of something solid that would break Fuudo's defense.
@justmedawg They do it for a reason. Footsies, building meter, etc. It's not spamming. It's strategic thinking.
You have said that, practice is the key, especially if you practice against very strong players; and for that, being japanese (or live in Japan) matters. In Japan you can go everyday to the arcades and fight Sako, Daigo, Tokido, Kindevu, Mago, Uryo, Fuudo, Bonchan, Kazunoko and the rest of those badass players. Plus, they have an incredible bandwidth with no lag. They can even fight Koreans...

its not a show its a tournament...the biggest fighting game tournament in the world actually. its held in Las Vegas every Summer (mainly during July-August). and the one playing Fei Long didnt play him because hes a fan of Bruce Lee...its because Fei Long was the best character in this version of the game (along side Yun and Yang).

Fuudo didn't come out of nowhere. He was 2nd best Ryu in the japanese acrades in SF4. He won a big European tournament in 2010 beating Daigos Ryu if i'm not mistaken. Latif was more of an unknown for me than Fuudo
IF you're not underage, chance is you played STreet Fighter the way it was meant to be palyed, on the arcades and the arcades use those.

@oshitashiboy hey, C Viper's burn kick is important in her combos, the guy playing Fei Long also used a move numerous times but you probably didn't notice it because it was not as flashy

I just picked up my first fighting game (that I'm going to take serious and compete) and hope to get good someday. I picked up BlazBlue CS Ex for my PSV. It has tons of features which should be enough to challenge me. I hope I get to a competitive level within a month or two. I really want to jump into tournaments.
@BenRox2474life i'm not talking about ex and shit, i'm talking about how different moves have vast amount of properties usable in different ways, as per say a Hadouken can be used as a zoning tool, to get close in while applying pressure, combo starter, combo maintainer (FADC), ultra setup (EX), super setup, poking tool, general mix ups, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.... yes, alot of etcetera's there.
Latif should have won. He seemed like a nice guy and looked pretty down when he lost.
I sort of feel bad for him :(
@Canniman im afraid you have been misinformed,fei long is one of the best characters in ssf4 and in the top 5 best with the twins and makoto,he is being heavily nerfed/downgraded in ae 2012.

I liked how the Japanese gave Fuudo a victory hoist at the end. Makes you wonder if they would have done the same had Kindevu won instead.

I think it was nerves. Latif is known for pioneering a lot of viper tech and one of the few to actually OS everything. You can see in the match vs. Daigo and Poongko, he gets a good groove and plays much better.
