Star Trek Picard Season 3 Episode 9. - Zábava
Upset Shaw was killed. I loved his sarcasm. Modern day Riker lol.
I love Data’s sarcastic response. “I hope we die quickly. 😊”
Agreed 😂
I second that. It fits so well on the situation
That's mostly like Lore talking.
I respect and hate this scene. . . I really, really hated Shaw at first, but he grew on me, so much so that I did not want him to die, I wanted more of him. Todd Stashwick did a great job!
Yeah,Stashwick has a knack for playing characters like that. Watch 12 Monkeys
Before this episode, there were calls by others for a Shaw show, similar to the way people were calling for a Pike show after Discovery Season 2. Then this episode happened and everyone went, "... Damn."
I liked Shaw from the moment he first appeared at dinner
I hated it. I really really wanted a Shaw spinoff.
I think that was the point. They wanted him to grow on us. He was an asshole.... but he died a hero.
0:50 I find it morbidly hilarious that the Excelsior gets destroyed by a ship named after Sulu
Ouch. XD
Just means that the writers for THIS season knew a thing or two about Star Trek.
Excelsior can't catch a break man
Luckily there seems to be 1 of 3 left
1st one was mothballed ad the museum
3rd one is well
Gone now
2nd one is apparently still active, granted it's 31 years old now, but It never really got brought up after
no, that's where Picard's young guy warrior friend from season one was stationed. One of the barbs of season three producers to erase the first 2 seasons of Picard, and overall the past 25 years of sad Star Trek.
And the character of Captain Shaw is so great bc he sits completely outside of the TNG world and actually takes appropriate and responsible actions and views the world with realistic and accountable expectations... He's basically beating the critics from the audience to the punch by calling out the TNG crew for their rule breaking and plot armoring and special treatment that they receive... And he's calling them out in the scenes. Lol. That's such a great technique that they used to disarm that whole argument before it starts.
Picard almost killed him....Wolf 359
I completely missed him saying "you have the CON 7 of 9"
Shaw "I HATE the crew on the NCC1701D Enterprise. You're all a bunch of self righteous assholes!!!"
also Shaw: Ohh mah GAWD! Is that La-Forrge!? I am like, such a huge fan! I have your manual on advanced engines. Im like, such a Stan for you."
In his mind, La-Forge is the sane one as he feels La-Forge has to clean up the mess caused by Picard and the rest of the gang.
The irony that the Excelsior was destroyed by a fleet of ships including the Hikaru Sulu...
And why did they change the registry number? 😐
I love Seven's "The robot is right." Lol
data is like did this borg bitch call me a robot lmao
And the funniest thing is that it was actually improvised, hence Data and Geordi 's reaction to it XD
Data and Geordi "excuse you?"
My first response was "Look whose calling a robot a robot lady."
"I am an android, not a robo-- Oh wait..."
Shaw had been running from the demons that haunted him since Wolf 359. He was traumatized by survivors guilt-wondering why he lived when others of his crew didn’t. It’s off his back now.
Especially as it's an inverse of that situation, as he dies in order to allow his fellow crew members to evacuate a ship being attacked by the Borg on the last available escape craft. It's not _literally_ the same scenario, but certainly close enough for this to be considered full circle.
His character reminded me of Lt. Dan on Forrest Gump. He lived, feeling he should have died, but spent all that time wondering what the purpose of it all was.
2:57
Mr. Data, your inner Lore is showing 😆☠️
exactly.
Notice when Captain Shaw is shot, the assimilated crew stop shooting.
I'm still not completely over them killing off Captain Shaw.
I have no doubt he'll be back. After all, Shax came back...
Spock's death was epic, but he returned. Shaw's death now reigns supreme as the greatest casualty in Star Fleet history.
Data's face in the background when Troi says she's never been so happy to see so many wrinkles. LOLZ
Capt Shaw was a great character. He'll be missed.
The first time he called her Hanson again after she told him she knew it was a changling and not Sdyney because Sydney always called her Commander Seven out of respect to the name she prefered, I knew if he ever called her Seven of Nine he would die immediately after. I felt so vindicated when that was exactly what happened. Dude was an absolute ass, but he was a good captain that cared deeply for his crew.
you felt vindicated when he died . . . remind me never to go out drinking with you
lol Just noticed the similar music piece at 1:49 when picard hailed the enterprise in Best of Both worlds and Riker was like fire....then that cliffhanger music at 1:49
I didn’t pick up on that! Good ear! The composers really did go all out with the musical homages to classic Trek!
"In their last moments, people show you who they really are"
-The Joker
Todd Stashwick as Shaw was just marvelous in this. I found that he was my favorite character. A shame, that his end came so quick.
When they are watching the screen for the USS Excelsior, its fairly similar to the TNG episode "The Wounded". The screen layout just looks updated, but otherwise very similar to when they are watching the USS Phoenix destroy a Cardassian ship : czcams.com/video/guo1ivcosVo/video.html
You have the conn, Seven of Nine
Magical
Data being sarcastic reminds me of Kryten from Red Dwarf🤣
I like how the phasor fire has a certain solidity to it, like actually firing a gun. you can feel the recoil through the screen, and when the phasor shot hits somebody, there is something solid to the strike
The Sulu is near the Excelsior.
We lost a good captain but man he passed away starring into 7 s eyes knowing she would be the best she can as caption as we find out later he recommends captain for her upon return from the mission , an he admired her bravery an loyalty ❤ I wished an hope he some how got some nana probes accidentally that know one knew about an healed him we can dream people we can dream
Dam thing still hits me when he passes
He questioned captain Picard to many times so we all knew he was going to die.
so many wrinkles, thats an awesome line
They should eventually bring back Shaw as a clone or something. 😢
No I don't think they would do that it's reality on the show you can just bring them back
If they did, the only viable way to do so would be as a hologram. He'd make a decent ship's counselor!
The Uss Excelsior was destroyed, so Elnor is dead too?😮
Terry Matalas (or one of the other writers) said that Elnor wasn’t aboard the Excelsior during Frontier Day.
2:02 we have a fleet formation.. A few look like the Terran Empire sword through the Earth symbol.. What else is there?
RIP Elnor.
Terry Matalas said that Elnor is alive and wasn’t aboard Excelsior when it was destroyed.
I've never been so happy to see so many wrinkles. -- Troi 😂
I hope they do a "Jedi Mind Trick" for ST:Legacy and Shaw didn't die but recovered from his injuries. Wouldn't be the first resurrection in the ST universe.
Same goes for Shelby.
@@AndrewChapman I never understood why they never did more with Shelby. She was vital in what arguably the best Trek ever (TV or movie). And then she vanishes. Never a guest star. Doesn't pops up on DS9 captaining a starship or leading a taskforce. They could've had Shelby captaining Voyager instead creating the character Janeway. Just radio silence for 30 years, and its not like she was unpopular withing the nerdverse, infact she was a big part of the Mackenzie Calhoun stories, another character that I really want to see come into canon.
yeah shelby showing up once in awhile giving Seven her orders over subspace and occasionally in person would be nice @@chrisstetsko5020
3:50 ............. 😢
Shaw’s death is something I didn’t like. They could have done it far better.
Why did the changeling stop shooting?
Residents is necessary.
hey screwed up when killing shaw! he was EXACLY the kid of personality this franchise needed! i adored him right from the firs scene! he may have been a prick! but he was RIGHT!!! and we all KNOW IT! hats why he pissed so many off. but what IS right? IS right! (because hes my son! ah.... god damn it....) yall know what im talking about! BRILLIANTLY written charactor
Who better to kill than a character who will be missed?
At 00:49, what happened the USS Excelsior NCC-42037?
Basically, it go boom.
@@robertt.juengel4298 I'd say for Memory Alpha, Destroyed in 2401.
:(
@@robertt.juengel4298 Don't worry, though, Terry Matalas confirms Elnor was NOT on board.
@@heavyarms01h Didn’t he also state that Ro Laren didn’t die in the sabotaged shuttle?
@@heavyarms01h Too bad.
She could have brought him back to life with nanoprobes. She did it before.
So a few 100 ships were taken over by the Borg ??
it is soooo dark that it is almost completely unwatchable. I guess they were doing their best to hide the wrinkles and the paunches.
Troi is commenting about other people's wrinkles?! That's some real pot calling the kettle black action right there.
Great line though.
well all of them properly qualify for AARP.
Not gonna lie, Troi is still hot af.
Season 3 of Picard was better than all 7 seasons of TNG
Goddamn Borg. I'm so sick of them. They've become the most overrated Star Trek villain ever
Unfortunately blame it on the fact that the Borg are Picard's archenemy and that this was planned as TNG's The undiscovered country,
I have not seen one comment on any video or anything I have ever seen on this series, and I watched the series...... Explaining why the star fleet ships appear in that kind of pattern. There has to be a reason for it
