Our son, recently home from Afghanistan, surprises his sister during the graduation ceremony at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She was extremely disappointed when we told her he would not be back until the end of the month. Guess we lied a little. Ok, a lot. A special thanks to all at Cal Poly who made this possible. Enjoy.
The moment he mentioned her brother, she immediately starts crying and that shows how much she wanted him there.

@@briankeith7611 You lost me.
The way her family worked secretly with the dean was epic.
@@mcmjr405 Agreed.
Thank you for this explanation.
The sweetest part is she started tearing up as soon as he mentioned her brother
It shows how much she loves and missed her brother.
Yes, bro
Shows how much she cares about her brother and to see just how happy she was to see him u can't help but shed a tear for them
Is it just me or did anybody else notice that she was so stunned and happy that she forgot to get her diploma?? GOOD JOB MARINE AND EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THE SURPRISE!!!! WELCOME HOME MARINE!!!!
Sent via mail...
Brought a tear to this old Marine's eyes. Ooh-Rah.
Thank you for your service!!
@@freedommachine4633
The pleasure was mine, sir. :)
Thank you for your service brother
You have all my respect good sir
@@peterjg001
Much appreciated sir. Sorry that I didn't see this sooner.
As an only child who has always wanted a big brother more than anything, I found this unbelievably touching. I love seeing siblings who get along. There is such a strong bond between siblings that should never be broken. It makes me so sad to see brothers and sisters fight simply because I never had the chance to have that bond that I so strongly desired. Awesome video. Thank you for sharing :')
I'm really happy for her or anyone who has someone that comes home. My old brother never made it home from Vietnam. I wish he would have surprised me in this way. It's been 41 years and I still miss him.
Enjoy the moment with your brother sweetheart!!!!
Every time I'm feeling bummed, I pull up this video...
Hope both this young lady and her brother are doing well...
2:32 the most perfect turn i ever seen :O
Damn
Malik Thompsom every marines turn will always be perfect
I'm a Marine and this made me tear up a little. When I came back from Iraq, we didn't tell my mom. There was a family barbecue and I popped out and she had a similar reaction. It's nice to see people appreciate the military every once in awhile. There are too many military haters online. Thank you for posting this.
I am addicted to watching these videos and almost every time I shed some tears thank you to all everyone service out there
One of my favorites!!! Welcome home to all soldiers and a safe return for all still out there!!! Christmas wishes!!!
I've watched this countless times and her reaction makes me tear up every time
The families are just as brave as their precious sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers who serve. God bless them all!!! And thank you for all your sacrifices!!!
This brought tears to my eyes. :') Thank you so much for your service.
SHE MUST HAVE AN AMAZING FAMILY TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT FOR HER...GREAT VIDEO...I CRY EVERY TIME I WATCH IT!!!

These Kinds Of Videos Always Touch My Heart. Tears Just Flow down My Face :')
I'm soooo touched that was so beautiful!!
I loved the face of the sister when the Dean had her stand by & started talking...BEAUTIFUL & AMAZING ALL IN ONE...
It just makes you smile with true happiness. Beautiful.
I know exactly how everybody else felt watching this. I spent 30 yrs in the corps and there was never anything better than pulling a surprise return. But watching this, my eyes also swelled up and I had to put it on pause for a moment. Family means everything to a military member. Semper Fi Marine.
This made me cry so hard(: I miss my brother so much and this was awesome!
Outstanding, that means u r a wonderful sister... There are bad ones...
Good 4 u..,😎✌️
I love this. And anyone who lost a loved one I'm sorry. They were a hero.
Excellent surprise Marine! "Thank You" for your service to our country. 😢🎉❤ Keep up the great work. 😊 👍 👌
What a Beautiful Moment! Welcome Home Marine! I can't wait for my Marine to come home safely too!
My manly eyes are bleeding a strange kind of water. I... What is this feeling?
😂😂😂😂 best comment ever!!
badgerbane. Mine too. I spent 10 yrs in Iraq. My family broke down seeing me.
PAIN!!!!!!
To much gun powder. Go wash your face, lad.
Men cry too
congradulations on your graduation Jessica and welcome home sir. Thank you for your service to the country we both love.
I’ve watch this numerous times and still cry…..precious
I'm Canadian, and I just love watching these videos. I was an OTR trucker for 40 years and met so many great people in the USA. So many were either in the forces or had someone in them. Watching these clips kind of hits me in a soft spot. No one one should never have to be sent out to fight someone elses battles. We have our kids here because we have safe countries. Don't send them to foreign wars.
Respect. I am literally in tears.
It's been several years since I first saw this and I still get emotional watching it! God bless them all!!!
Just seen the look on her face made me tear up and I have to say I love happy endings thanks for posting this video have a great day and God bless
I can 't imagine her having to let go of her brother and see go off to war. I have only one brother and he is my world and rock in my life. Congrats Jessica in having your brother back home safe and sound with you! :)
I can't wait to see my grandson again. He has only had 10 days of leave in 8 months. USMC graduation was not open to relatives due to Covid. My prayers to all who have family serving our country.
Best video I have ever seen. God bless these two nice persons
Another win for our side. THANK YOU for YOUR SERVICE.
Take care. Prosper and live long, He has you in his hands.
This may be the most beautiful, heart-touching video I've ever seen. :') God bless him for his service to our Country. and God bless his family for being the strength behind him.
Thank you so much to our nothing but brave, ever so loyal troops that have always put their lives at risk for their country's freedoms 👏👏👏👏 👏💪🇺🇸 And God bless their faithful, supportive familie's too. 💞👍
Definitely crying. So sweet :) Congratulations to your family.
this was literally perfect moment and i just cried because it made me happy too !
Bless her (&him) she will remember this day for the rest of her life.
Greetings from us Brits !
Still one of my favorites ever!
thats brother sister love..look at her reaction as she saw him.Fantastic Surprise
I love SLO & Cal Poly. Smart girl. Hope her brother is home permanently now & that they are all healthy & happy.
wow that was amazing! i couldnt help myself from crying it was so cheerful!
NEVER GETS OLD WATCHING THIS......2019
Omgosh I cried!! How nice of those people to do that for her.
This is so toughing. THank you Eric for your service.
I remember the disrespect - even hatred - for the military in the sixties and seventies. I'm so glad it's not like that now. There will always be those who abuse power and don't deserve anyone's respect. But most give up much to serve our country - even those of us who weren't sent into harm's way. We were willing. Thank you to all who served.
no everyone has respect for the military now it's the police turn
I thank every veteran for my freedom whenever I see them -- and the same for the police and firefighters. Maybe you can help me thank more of them.
Congratulations Jessica ".........And SEMPER FI MARINE !!
thanks for sharing this great video! so glad your son (& brother!) is home!! :)
How beautiful the meeting is where tears shed and feelings raised
instant tears! my brother did this to me when I graduated high school :')
I absolutely love this. My brother just graduated from the Marines this past Friday. I won't be graduating college until Spring 2013 but it crosses my mind if he will ever be able to be there.
Was he there?
Update?
thanks for your service bro, stay safe for your sister
Sorry for your loss, Respect to your brother.
This is so adorable and so sweet but I also cannot get over "Her father called me" and then her face just changes so fast, it's great
I love watching things like this, such genuine happiness and love...! It's so nice!
"Brother-sister love." Welcome back, Marine!
This video is beautiful... first time i saw it i started to cry!
What a great way to surprise you sister. Thank you for your service
i just wished this happened to me, instead i had to miss my graduation to go to his funeral! RIP Brother, i miss and love you everyday!
Do you still miss him
This clip was funded, produced and shot with the generous help of the makers of Kleenex tissue.
nice copy paste bruh
And the property tax from the onion processing plant
That was beautiful to watch... thanks for sharing!!!
i made the big mistake of watching this in class... teacher gave me a weird look as to why my eyes were filled with tears. taught me not to watch videos in class, even with no sound! absolutely beautiful. it's a shame those have to live without their loved ones but even more of a blessing when they return safely and happily into the arms of those that missed them the most.
He walks so dignified, like the Marine he is. amazing.
This is absolutely amazing! I love it! OOHRAH!
I tear up at every one of these, and I mean every single one of them! There's just something about seeing tears of joy instead of sadness. I had a friend who was going through a tough time, so I helped her out with a small monetary donation. When she saw the bank envelope containing some cash, she broke down and started crying. She didn't even know how much money was in the envelope. Her reaction took me totally by surprise. It was the first time I had ever experienced something like that. I know that in these videos there's going to be that moment when someone realizes what is happening and starts crying. I know they're coming, and I still tear up. Somehow it feels good to share that moment with them.
I live for happy moments like this,Thanks for sharing.
damn I couldn't imagine the emotions that girl went through in such a short amount of time lol. Good for them :)
as a marine this brings tears to ur eyes theres nothing like holding family tight after a long time away
Im crying this is so beautiful !!
That' was the best thing you could ever of done for your sister you seem like a great brother and yes man this video mad me cry bad lol I also want to thank you for your service and god bless
My son is in Afghanistan and is due home the middle of Oct and we can't wait, this made me cry like a big baby...And the other thing that is crazy my daughters name is Natasha Ortega and there is a Natasha that is called in this video SEMPER FI!!!!!!
I have watched so many of these it's addictive, but it's also very saddening for me. I'm from the UK and let me tell you we have nothing at all like this. In fact, we are not even allowed to wear our uniforms outside of the base unless we are getting married and have permission. I came back from active service and felt empty. The best welcome home reception and the only I have ever witnessed in the UK was by a group of villagers off their own backs who lined the streets whenever our fallen returned via a small Village quiet and out the way. This was not our Government or councils but just ordinary people.
Thanks you for your service, Eric. So glad a Marine could come back to see his sister graduate.
Can't stop crying. This is beautiful.
This was amazing to watch! I would like to congratulate her on graduating, and thank him for serving our country! God bless your beautiful family :)
It's the tougher men that cry, who aren't afraid to let their emotions show when they don't need to be hidden.
Very nice, i hope every one gets back to their LOVED ones.
That is the best gift ever.....I would give up anything to just have a brother but to have him be In the Marines suprising her at her graduation ceremony! You cant get any better!😊✌
Beautiful. I'm truly impressed with the fact that there are still a number of education institutions who aptly respect and honor our military.
Get your information somewhere else, they all do
apparently the gaskets around my eyes need replacing
I wish with all my heart the Dean's son safely return home to him and his family too. Jessica, you sweet sister, he really had you and your brother at heart. I wish my dean would have been a 10% just like that and all the best surprises in life as that to thank from the heart. You made your brother and your good parents even more proud as they make you too. They love you great
thanks for sharing such a beautiful moment.
zi most beautiful uniform of the World ....( with French navy ).
I didnt think she would see him I thought he would have to stand there for hours but she seen him right of the back 🤣
hooooly crap that made me bawl !!
i cant wait until my boyfriend gets back
Love this video everytime I watch these videos i cry . These are cherishing moments specially if its a sin daugbter or sibling.
My big sister did the same to me on my graduation. The Night before she calls me to come pic her up at the airport, NO ONE knew she was coming home so soon. It was the best surprise ever, i wasn't able to sleep that night.
Hope your brother doesn't have to leave you again, and miss important events like this ever!
"I'll Be Damned!!"....am i the only one who heard that??
She goes from :D to :S and then O_O ... T_T
so good, that must've been the most awesome suprise ever :)
Of course I am crying. Thank you for your service!
Who’s cutting onions?
Beautiful moment. And props for the dean knowing when to step aside and letting the moment happen. It seemed he wanted to set it up, asking her if she had anything to say to her brother and then eventually telling her she can let him know in person but she saw her brother earlier than expected. Awesome video.
One of my favorite things about this video is how someone in the audience gasps and says 'oh, he's here!'
don't mind me...I've just *sniff* something in my eye....
Tears! Thank you for your service!!
THANKYOU TO THE YOUNG MAN, AND THIS IS A WONDERFUL MOMENT
1:01

Jessica:

Dean:

Me? I got allergies...bad allergies. O.o
