DIY Rose Petal Soaps: Create Your Own Single-Use Soaps!

- Learn how to make rose petal single-use soaps. They're gorgeous, realistic, & they smell amazing!
I recommend .27 or .3mm wafer paper for petals so they dissolve easier. Cut flower petals 3" long. Use Styrofoam balls to mold the petals (bigger balls = less curved petals). Dip balls in a moisturizer to prevent sticking.
RECIPE: You only need a liquid to wet the petals in order to mold them (even water will work), everything else is optional! But use my recipe for additional foam and lather.
MY RECIPE: 50 milliliters liquid bubble bath, 1/8 cup sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSa), 15 milliliters fragrance oil, and liquid colorant. If you add more SLSa than this, the liquid becomes too thick to paint with. Microwave mixture to dissolve SLSa, then add fragrance oil & colorant.
For colorful edges, mix alcohol, mica, & liquid colorant. Apply the mixture to the edges, then paint the petal. Next, mold the petal; make it lay completely flat. Dry petals completely (3 hours). Gently unmold petals.
SOAP: Melt 100 grams soap base, then add 5 grams fragrance oil. Pierce the petal with an 18 or 20 Gauge Wire. Dip the petal in soap. Dry 3 minutes. Once soap is dry but still warm, take the wire out and push soap in the hole.
Package petals how you like, but the big flowers make a stunning display! Make flowers about 7" in diameter. You can use thinner paper, but I recommend a thicker paper, like .6 mm (for structure). Prepare flowers like petals, except paint front AND back. Mold the flower; gently rub each petal until it's completely flat against the ball. Let the flowers dry, then gently unmold them.
ASSEMBLY: Add big petals first, then smaller ones as you get closer to the center. Keep adding petals until you're satisfied.

Hi Dora. Can you explain if you’re supposed to color the petals with the colored alcohol mixture 1st & then rewet the entire petal with your “soap liquid” (the recipe you provided to mold the petals) prior to letting them dry on the styrofoam ball? Or are you supposed the paint the petals using the soap mixture or the colored alcohol? I’m very confused.
