  • Inktense on fabric. I rewarded myself with a set of these pencils! My goal is to create some images to use in fabric arts and paper arts.... ie. junk journals!
    Thank you for watching!

Here’s the best artist I’ve seen using these inktense pencils and you will binge watch her videos. Her name is Helen Godden she paints on her fabric using inktense or lumiere paints and her work just comes to life. She then quilts her fabric paint and it just becomes amazing.

Well, what a wonderful comment… I don’t know how I missed your comment… I can see that it was quite some time ago, I’m so sorry I can’t keep up with all of the technical side of this endeavor… Thank you so much for the encouragement!

Wow! Didn't realize how amazing the inktense are on fabric! I really appreciate all the samples in which you revealed your progress. It was super interesting to hear and see how you discovered what worked well and what didn't. Your trials and tribulations (and joys!) have certainly provided me with an excellent introduction into the use of these materials. Thanks for sharing!

I have Inktense and Winsor Newton watercolor markers, you can do so so much.

You can go back with the white pencil

I tried that, and it really didn’t add enough white… and, what it did put on there was not reflective/of no effect

Buy some cheap muslin. Don't wash it. The sizing in it means you don't need any of those products to keep colors from bleeding. Nothing but water and your paint. I'm going to use a water brush pen. Fill it up and start painting. Go look here on CZcams and find the woman who does it with nothing but water and paint and the fabric with sizing left in it. It can't bleed. It's perfect. Thanks for your video. I'm using mine in a junk journal

Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment… I don’t know how I missed your comment but here’s my reply even though it’s late… I’ve tried all the ways even the ones you suggested and water gravitates no matter what you do. I had bleeding occur even 15 minutes after I thought it was stationary. I’m still using aloe vera versus fabric medium versus water. It’s the most controllable and I love the thinning the color down on my plate in the aloe vera to give a glaze effect. Nothing else can do that.

Sorry not insulting you but water is the better option! I have the aloe and don’t want it on my fabric long term as it’s like greasy. Water doesn’t add any greasiness or slimy ness to my fabric becoming part of the color as with water it’s all my color! Nothing added. Saying that it’s the artist choice and I’m not knocking you but you might want to try water again once you get better at using the pencils.

Hummmm…?? Well , … I’ll think it through again… but, I have used all 3 options and still like aloe for my style of art. Perhaps there is a big difference in aloe gels… I have had no adverse effects using aloe. I don’t care if my pieces only last 50 to 100 years, … they are happy art, just for fun. I don’t take myself too seriously! Lol

@@suzanneinohiosuzannecogar2110 Please know I enjoy your channel and do not mean to it insult you. If you like the effects then that’s what you should do. For me aloe is kind of diluting the color is the best way I can describe it for me. Anyway your doing well regardless.
