- I track down and find Haidar el Ali, an interesting character who has been the minister of ecology and fisheries in Senegal. He is currently the president of the green party federation of West Africa. He welcomes me into his home for a week and shows me the largest mangrove plantation in history, which he organised himself. His unusual world view is worth listening to.

Whats cool about this is land thats been decertified is cheap, and rain harvesting isnt too hard or expensive.
Im gana buy my own piece of land and try as best as i can to make a little forest.

I’ve seen the results of illegal deforestation of mountains in the Philippines. It’s so sad to destroy such a beautiful place.

I'd love to have a long conversation with that man. He seems to be a great human being and a great soul.
He kept apologizing for his bad English, but I don't think that was the case. I think it was amazing how he could describe his worldview and how to save the planet with his limited vocabulary. Cheers to that guy, we need more people like him :)

Because most people who have accesss to internet are mostly from the city and typically they don't care much about the impact of human activity on nature since they are far from experiencing it except from floods but seeing how mainstream media don't raise much awareness what are the root causes of flooding and the long term indication of this for the next generation; therefore majority of people are not aware. Look up celebrity vlogs and they would have millions of views. This is what the world has become. People either live in denial or ignorance

Thank You so much!! I love this and this mans' vision, many are doing this, but we need more. I live in Michigan in USA it is very green, we do have some trouble spots, but nothing like the horiffic damages like burning, cross-cutting, and all the deserts that are expanding. We can do better, just pick up and put away some trash, plant to replace what you take and I do 3 trees if I cut one. Then more planting, and safeguarding will so help our planet.
