  • I'm starting to investigate a few journals with low gsm, and the Stálogy is the first to go with 52gsm paper. This lightweight paper is satisfying to use, even though there is a lot of ghosting, because once you've written or painted on it, it feels used and has a lovely crinkle! Well, I think it's lovely anyway. The paper wasn't quite as good as I was expecting, having thought that it would be similar to Tomoe River Paper (it's not), but I still liked it.
See full detailed specifications at my website where you can compare the journal to others I have reviewed in a simple to view table at theusefuljournal.com/product/...
The backing music is Long Meditation Piano Solo purchased on a commercial licence through Pond 5.

I don't believe that I've ever seen such an extensive and complete review!!! Many thanks, and happy journaling ✍️💙

Thank you! The whole reason I started doing journal reviews was because I had so many questions that weren't answered by other reviews, so I'm very glad you've found it useful 💜

Stalogy is an amalgamation of Standard and Technology.

Well that didn't occur to me! Thank you. I wonder why they wanted to use Standard and Technology as the base of their brand...

Thank you for this review. I had a stalogy years ago and liked having 365 pages. So many hard choices. 💗

Thanks! The choices are limited once you get to that number of pages. Stalogy would be a good choice because the thin paper keeps the journal a reasonable size for carrying around 🩵

Heather Hammerquist had trouble loading a comment so I wanted to add it, as it still showed on my notifications...
She noted: There is ghosting on the paper, but I’ve never had any feathering or actual bleed-through. I actually test out my fountain pen ink on the onion skin paper and it is delightful to interact with.

I commented in my review that I think I had some trouble with feathering on a part of my fountain pen test because of oils from my hands. I'm told some papers are more sensitive to that than others 🩷

Thank you for the warning. Stalogy are clearly not useful at all.

I think they suit a niche of journal users - mostly those that like a lot of pages in a compact-sized journal, especially if they want one with 365 pages to cover the whole year. I'm going to find a fairly simple use for mine, using the pens I noted at the end of my review. I've noticed users sticking a lot of papers and stickers in theirs as well.

I like your videos but 52 gsm just isn't for me.

I can understand that. I'm going to have to think of what to use mine for! My favourite GSM is 120-140 💜
