Thank you for the encouragement. I love your art and praying you’ll be blessed as you bless us with beautiful paintings!
Love how you share your give and process so others can see and learn and just enjoy
Thanks so much!
I watched this several times. I love all the wet into wet! I love how you move your paper to move the pigment around. I see very few watercolorist use this free technique. I have never seen anybody use a pallet knife so much with watercolor. Very relaxing and enjoyable to watch and listen to
Awe thanks so much Lester, you’re the best! I know, I’m pretty active with that paper, it’s always twisting and turning, I’m sure I drive some people nutty doing it, but that’s how I roll! As for the use of a palette knife in watercolor, I’ve never seen a watercolorist use one before myself, but I did watch acrylic and oil painters use them and I thought why can’t I? Therefore I did, and I found out it was fun. I hope you enjoy using one with your art too.
Have a blessed day! Here’s to creating beautiful art! 💕 🎨 👩🎨
Love it! So vibrant and flowing.
Wonderful! I love your style and feel inspired!
Great abstract flowers painting, I like how colors are spreading into each other. thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much!
Just loving this painting!
Just love the way the pigments blend on the paper…..and all the undefined shapes, soft edges. I have to get out of my head and just go for it! Your art speaks to my heart. Thank you!
Beautiful as usual!
Love it, as usual!
Gorgeous loose painting and your tutorial is brilliant!

Yeah…I might have to switch gears! Thanks so much!
Beautiful, loose, exciting
Love your work
Just bought some sheets of arches paper today at Hobby Lobby.... Still $7.99 lol.
Can’t wait to try the loose paintings. I’m more a “detail painter” but you have inspired me to get loose!!
Love love love your paintings and you explain things so well.
Thank you! I’m glad the price of watercolor didn’t go up! So many other things have…grrr 😂 enjoy loosening up!
So so pretty!
Thank you!
Thanks for a great video and a master image.
Es maravilloso.😮🌼🌺🌻
It’s a beautiful painting!!!
Thank you
I love the painting. Fascinating how it goes from one stage to the next.
That’s what happens when you just follow the watercolor!
Another lovely wonder. I am one of those admirers who started painting landscapes predominantly with a palette knife after watching you this summer. It has done wonders for my paintings' spontaneity. Thank you!
I love this style and especially this painting - it would be gorgeous as a duvet cover!💕
This loose style is much harder than I expected and I appreciate your videos so much!
Thank you!
It was an absolute delight to watch and hear you. To beauty and freedom!
Awe, thanks so much. When I hear myself talk I cringe 😂
I love this style of painting now that I’ve seen you do it! Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Enjoy!
This is beautiful. I love your style!
Thank you so much 💕

Awesome! Glad you’re enjoying the content!
Beautiful work.
Thanks so much Carol!
So beautiful. You make it look so easy. Hopefully someday I'll master up enough courage to do something in your style.
Thanks so much!
Not on facebook, so won't follow you there, but you have inspired me to try loosening up. first time I've been shown how to do so.
Thank you.
That’s awesome, I’m glad you find my channel then! More coming soon!
I love your style, very much….❤️🎨
Thank you!
Love this! Am going to use bigger sheets. I just joined your Facebook page. Yippee.
Enjoy! See you in the room.
Beautiful thank you 🤗
You’re welcome 😊
I literally just made a comment on a different video of yours that I’m afraid of painting on large paper.
I’m ordering some!
Thank you for this! I love this tutorial
Thank you! Enjoy
Absolutely loved this video, my first of yours, and an feeling inspired to paint loose which has been challenging for me. I signed up to join you on Facebook. Thank you!
Thanks Zola! See you over there on FB!
So happy I found this….my work needs to loosen …thank you
Awesome, I’m glad you did too! Enjoy.
Love!
Thank you!
I am learning so much from you. I can’t wait until I am moved into my new house to get a big sheet of paper and give it a go! Thank you.
Awesome, I’m glad you’re learning. I understand not having the space etc… I’m living with patio chairs in my living room, a blowup mattress, a wiggle table to paint on etc….everything I own is in the Midwest 1600 miles away! Now with the snow, I won’t see it until spring…ugh I’m just happy to be making art.
@@debralynrosenbachart I moved in June from Wisconsin to Tennessee and everything is in storage yet, but soon I will be able to fully set up. I actually went out and bought a few watercolor supplies because I went stir crazy. Where did you move from and to?
Very nice!! Thank you
Thank you!
Thanks so much! I have been staring at a large piece of Arches for almost a week. Tomorrow I will dive straight in. See you on Facebook.
Jane,I’m checking in with you…did you pull that paper out and and give it a shot?
Love this so much .. am going to try a larger piece of paper and be loose... thank you
Woohoo! Awesome, you’re going to love the freedom! Enjoy!!
Loved this one Debra…your work is very inspiring…I’m sure you help so many people to paint loosely ….it’s certainly helping me on my art journey…thank you for sharing your talent….Denny..from Australia…
Thanks so much!!!
That's fabulous and very inspiring! I'm struggling to let go and don't dare ruin my large piece of Arches so I'm experimenting on smaller, cheaper cotton watercolour paper. It's very difficult for many of us to be loose and free. It's also difficult to leave white space the way you've done. Love it!!
Thank you
Love it! Inspiring! Was surprised to hear you don’t sell your artwork yet. 😯
Thank you! Just have to bit the bullet and get that website built. When I go live selling my art I’ll have plenty.
Really liked it - you always inspire me. I actually purchased some large sheets of Two Rivers paper; you make it look so fun.
Awesome…enjoy the large sheets of paper…it’s so much fun on a large scale! Remember you also have the backside to use too! …I’ve never heard of two rivers paper.
It’s handmade in England, I purchased through Jackson’s.
I love to watch you paint! And I listen! How about trying some Spanish moss on trees?
You're too cute! Love your tutorials. I have over 1000 paintings and don't know what to do. When I look back, I always think I could have done so much better. Although I keep growing, oftentimes I doubt myself and afraid to reveal my creations. Maybe it's fear or criticism Idk? However I love you! ❤💜💙💚👍👍👍
Awe, thanks Patrica! The last time I looked back at my art I sat there and I ripped most of it to shreds…I was in a mood 😂 some of it was so bad it was painful to look at, I could never inflict that on anyone else’s eyes 😂 Honestly, we’re always are worst critics…but that’s good, it helps to motivate us to make better art! Thanks for tuning in.
I would LOVE to have links to all your brushes
!!!! Thanks for doing these wondereful videos!
Check the newer videos in the description box, links found there.
I love this and wish to see demo of acrylic on canvas with same looseness THANKS
Very good compliments! It's been a few days that I have been pleased to see your very interesting tutorials but I would like to know if this intuitive/ abstract technique can be used also for regulas shapes ! Good life!
Wow, so beautiful and what words of wisdom. You have inspired me to get out a big sheet of paper and go for it. (BTW, what kind of paper did you use in this demo?)
Thanks so much!
I've tried this twice and having a lot of trouble achieving looseness. Hobby Lobby doesn't sell sheets anymore, at least not at my store. I like your chattiness but I wish you would tell us in more detail what you are doing. Love this painting!
Sorry to hear that. Loose painting can be difficult for many, it takes time to learn. I haven’t purchased sheets form HL in awhile, I find most of my items online now, as most people do. If you’re in the US i find Cheap Joes has some great prices.
I really need to be told to loosen up 😆 as i sit here with my tiny piece of Caron paper making the most careful little lines ever
Oh my! I’ll pray for you 😂
Did you start with wet paper? Or just very wet paint? I love the way you paint.
Tulips 💐
❤️
You're lucky about prices where you live! Here in the UK it's astronomical!
Oh my. I hate hearing that. The world has to vote smart and change things, right now it couldn’t be worse! We have to vote out the corruption…it’s stinking to high heaven. We have empty shelves and very high prices on things too, fortunately I’m in Florida were our Governor DeSantis is pushing back. So grateful someone fighting for us, it could be worse. Stay safe, be well and God bless.
I was laughing so much listening to you because I am guilty! I think I will put away my bleed proof white for now 😝
Oh man, your scaring me! Ive created bleed proof monsters 😂
@@debralynrosenbachart 😂😂😂
Is there a brand of single ply tp you can recommend? I loved this video!
Scott brand….Thanks!
Very beautiful! How do you know when to stop🙂 it was beautiful to me 10 minuets ago but even more so now. Just curious 😊
Thanks so much! I just listen to my instincts.
I've been binge watching your videos. They are all beautiful and it's how I aspire to paint. I'm not sure if you wet the whole paper or if you just wet the areas that you are dropping the paint on. Can you let me know or preface that point on your next video?
Thank you! I start with dry paper, but as I progress the paper gets wetter and wetter. I hope that helps.
Yes Thank you!
Would acrylic ink in white work for the white splatter? I know once it dries you can't move it, but have you tried it and just used it/moved it while wet?
I have not tried it I’m not quite sure what effect you would get.
I'm new here and curious. I notice that even though you have clean water sitting there, you continue to use the dirty water. (Even after it gets murky from the white stuff.) Is this purposeful? I'm a little obsessive and am always getting fresh water... should I be trying to get over that? Glad I found you! I love your work.
No, that’s just me engrossed in what I’m doing and not following my own rules. One water dirty, one clean and one for correction paint.
What do you suggest for paint if a beginner in good quality colors,,brands, inktense blocks etc
Hi Judy, If you just starting out and can afford decent art supplies it will help you, bad quality paper and paints only hinder you. I have an amazon store thats full of things i suggest and use…here’s the link. Please don’t buy pan paints when learning, these are great for traveling…you need tube paint and learn to mix in different consistencies if you want to paint loose. I use mostly Fabricano Artistico 140% Cold Press paper. If you buy pulp paper it will fight you and you’ll have puddles all over you paper.

No coupons at Hobby Lobby anymore and they never have their sheets of good watercolor paper on sale.
I want to paint loose but I almost never paint bigger than 8x10. I guess that may be part of my problem.
Would you do white flowers using negative painting for us?
I’ll put it on my list!
Wonderful. Thank you. You worry me when you start to go dark. I think ‘oh no she’s going to spoil it’ but of course it makes a dramatic difference to the end result. I love your painting😍
LOL…sometimes they do go wrong…trust me I’ve killed quite a few over the years. But I’m always willing to take risks, thanks so much for tuning in!!! The next tutorial you’ll see a few of my bad paintings because I’ll be showing you have you can fix them and turn them into note cards. Because we all have a pile of paintings that need to be burned.
Block Art Supplies sells Arches paper for $4.84 per sheet if you buy 10. Its $5.81 per sheet otherwise. I love your artwork so much! Hope I have it in me to create something as beautiful.
Actually it is Blick Art Supply
That’s a really great price! Thanks!
Do you ever use hake brushes?
Yes, sure do, but I tend to scratch my paper with the wood edge a lot, not sure how I do it but I do 😆.
Tulips
Did you have to stretch this first ?
No, just grabbed the sheet and started painting, no issues.
Do you have your board at an angle Debra Lyn?
No board used. Flat on table and I move paper by hand.
Have you ever painted an intuitive beach scene? (No umbrellas) haha
Oh I love you! Now that’s the kind of humor I adore! I’ve painted some, and if I do one now I would feel compelled to throw umbrellas 🏖 in the piece. And I’m sure anyone looking at it would scratch there head saying “ah, why are flowers growing on the beach?” 😂
Do you mean cannas or calla lillies?
Canna lilies.
Where do I fine Facebook page info
facebook.com/groups/461715274421734/?ref=share_group_link
Do you stand when you paint
Great question…at times yes!
They look like Cana lilies or day lillies
Thanks! I saw that too after it was all done…six months ago I had a bunch of cannas growing in containers on my front porch here in FL…they unknowingly creeped into my artwork.
I listened to the full video, but yo named the paints too fast. I'm going to get a big sheet of paper and get loose right now.
I really need to be told to loosen up 😆 as i sit here with my tiny piece of Caron paper making the most careful little lines ever
You must be blessed with steady hands!
