There is a good insight put forward by Rabbi Jonathan Sacks (he wasnt the first to think of this idea, but he was influenced by it and it comes through in his work) that each Jew each like a letter in a Sefer Torah scroll. Letters from to make words, words make sentences, sentences make paragraphs etc. The Jewish people then operate as a vehicle of revelation to the world, a light among the nations you might say.

God showed his power through creation, his Devine for knowledge by prophesying events before they happen but how does a Holy God show his eternal love to his children?
