- My sister Rens and I may not call each other every day, but we have a very special bond. We share many warm memories of growing up in Friesland, ice skating, sailing and playing outdoors. Of course our relationship has evolved over the years, but one thing hasn’t changed: we still love dancing. But I hope our choreos are a little better now, compared to when we were performing to our favorite Backstreet Boys tracks back in the day!

@@xDemiCrazyLoversx My father has several films from when I was a child too :) It's been years since I watched them though, but it is "exciting" to watch films from when you are just a small toddler...in the first films I was only like 1 to 3 years old. And obviously I don't have any memories from being that age so it's fun to watch haha...my memories starts from me being like around 5 years old, I'm soon 24 now.
Sure the films aren't exactly HD quality hahah....but it makes you nostalgic to watch...:) I think I'll ask my father to see them again, maybe show my boyfriend too haha.
That moment when you still need to read the subtitles, eventhough you are Dutch. Because you don't speak any Frysk 🇳🇱😂

@@baghashvili understandable thought, but no. Besides the many dialects in mostly the south of the Netherlands we also have a second language Frysk. Which is spoken in Friesland a province in the north of the country :)

It's pretty typical to be honest.. I'm from Baltic and this is how it's here and in Finland too..and now you see - also Netherlands, also Belgium surely.
I am German and the same age as Doutzen. That upload was a trip. I almost had an identical upbringing in nature with the same clothing style. So much more careless and innocent that how children and teens dress nowadays. I miss those times before cell phones sometimes. Much more pure fun and real human interaction.

What I notice from the video is you both had such a pure childhood in the outdoors, if only more kids had that.. and also that Doutzen has looked like an angel all her life 😍
It will never be the same ....there was no technology back then available, promoted and even pushed on people. We lived. Now we are surrounded by it and it takes it's toll. No generation will have the same childhood these days like we had( born on 1989)

I thought it was really great that Doutzen asked her sister how she felt after she herself started modelling and left the household. It's not only difficult for the one moving but also for the one staying, it's a real shift. ♥️
Reminds me of my sister and I. You can see that you’ve been sporty from a young age and both you and your sister have always been raised being conscious of the foods you eat. It really annoys me when people criticise models like you for being too skinny. You live a very healthy life which not many people have the will power or the time to match. It’s not fair of them to label you as “too skinny” just because you take very good care of your health! If it was so easy everyone would look like a supermodel. Thank you for sharing!
It's so intersting seeing the real Doutzen after only ever seeing you as a model. I already knew you are pretty but what a beautiful strong woman you are on the inside!
Like I have said it before Doutzen never ceases to amaze me. She and her sister share a very close bond. It tells you they had a very good family structure. I'm particularly drawn towards how Doutzen holds on to her Dutch culture. Now, how many of her peers are a natural like her. She knows what fame and money feel like but she doesn't let it interfere with her 'Dutchness'. She's amazingly humble and simple from all that I've seen thus far. Godspeed.

I am so proud of these two! Such a beautiful souls that choose to be their selfs and show the world how normal and logical it is to speak your mother language. Also very important for our Frisian language! All we need is subtitles, no need to adjust all the time. Doutzen, Sunnery and kids are so multilangual, it is so inspiring! Love it! I am pregnant of my first child and of course I am going to speak Frisian to our baby. I live in a city where most people speak Dutch, but I am surrounded by people who speak Frisian, so I hope I will succeed in raising our child in the language of my heart. Because that is what it is to me! I hope that also people that speak a Dutch dialect keep doing that, be proud of it. It is a part of you! It would be so boring if everyone would have the same language. Plus being multilangual has so many scientific proven benefits that it would be weird not to do anything with that! So, Praat mar Frysk/Twents/Limburgs/Amsterdams/Arabysk/Swahili. You are worth it! ❤️
