Man, there is way too much to unpack, but growing up through the 80's and 90s, "gangsta" rap ruled the airways. Ice cube, Dr Dre, eazy e (they all had successful solo careers but started together as a group called NWA), notorious b.i.g., 2 pac, snoop dog, wu tang, naughty by nature, and many more good artist. Despite its popularity, gangsta rap isn't all relatable to the masses. Then this song "my name is" drops, and this shit reaches everyone. Kids and adults alike of all races! We all couldn't relate to the streets, but talking about bullies and pain, drugs, and violence, all in a sarcastic point of view, is something everyone can relate to! And that was it. History would be written through the years and to the present as we know it now. Em is the goat.

@@VERTICILE thanks for even reading it! I'm a woman, but you can still call me bro that's fine lmao. Hope you continue, especially with the Trifecta of Reaction videos of Em, NF and REN, some of the biggest crowd drawers on CZcams, you'll keep going up. Your Like to Viewer ratio is higher than a lot of Em reactors who've been around for the last 3 albums. It's not just their names getting you views but, your comedic timing, energy and the ability to hear beats and schemes and rhymes that you break down that a lot of others can't do unless they're rappers themselves or DJ's etc (I know you said we would get mad at you stopping the music to breakdown things other than the bars, but the opposite of that is true. Those skills are what's giving you the success and keeping people coming back! keep doing you, man 😊👌🏽

Listen man, Em has such a large fan base that reactions to his albums are the fastest way to grow your channel, cause fans and stans like me enjoy watching new people get introduced and react to his rap masterclass. You're in for a ride, fasten your seatbelt cause MMLP is next and that one is gonna blow your fuckin' mind. I hope you're gonna continue to follow his whole journey so you can experience the growth/evolution of his skills. You seem genuine and i wish you all the best in your CZcams journey. (Just don't make me/us wait too long for the next album reaction) 😉

Been awhile since I found a dope af reaction channel with the right balance between hilarious vibes + proper appreciation of penmanship!
Hoping you chronologically cover all of Em's studio albums! His discography journey is particularly unique because he puts his heart and mind into every project so you know EXACTLY where his mind and character arc is at at the time
Only other artist I know who shares this same trait is Kendrick who I'd love if you chronologically check his studio albums out too (only if you haven't yet tho, which I doubt haha)

This was fresh off the streets, straight out of the ghetto HUNGRY Eminem/Slim Shady.
My generation, Millennials (Gen Y), had the privilege to grow up alongside Eminem's music first-hand. I was 12 years old when THIS album released 💪 lol
Yeah, D'Angelo Bailey was a real bully when Em was in elementary. He cornered Eminem in the school bathroom one day, with a snowball that had a heavy metal object inside of it and hit Eminem in the head with it, and it knocked him unconscious.
He was found in the bathroom hours later in the middle of a convulsion, in a pool of blood. He was in a coma for 10 days. His mom tried to sue the school for negligence and not alerting her, as he never came home after school and she's the one who found him in the bathroom. But she lost the case. Afterwards, Eminem actually had to relearn all of his motor functions again, and he suffered from severe migraines.
But he eventually fully recovered, obviously. Who knows though, maybe that hit in the head is what SPARKED his mental ability to see words differently and to rhyme them the way he is able to, with words having double, triple and sometimes even quadruple meanings.
There were also 3 other bullies he mentions, Malcom, Isaac and Boogie. 3 kids who bullied him when he was 5 and beat him and took his tricycle. His uncle Todd was stabbed in the gut when he went to get it back from them. He didn't die, he recovered.
Eminem had it rough growing up.

This album came out when I was 10 and I had just started listening to rap music. Back in the day you used to go to cd stores and be able to listen to all the top albums before buying and we’d go everyday and listen to a song then hand over the headphones to the next friend to listen to the same song. We were all totally blown away and we’d spend hours in there. Still to this day he’s the best ever in my opinion.

Love how you reacted to this whole album! Please do more full eminem albums. Maybe go in order! Next do the Marshall Mathers LP. Eventually work your way up to see the full range and contrast of his work and how it changes over the years. Also you gotta dabble in D12 a bit! Songs like Purple pills, my band, girls, instigator, pistol pistol, ect. I love peoples first reaction to old eminem songs. It reminds me of when i first started listening to him when i was really young and getting excited when a new album would drop. Me and my mom would pick it up and listen to it in the car over and over. He will forever be my favorite artist.❤
