  • A short video on how to get the best out of your pixel art within After Effects. Slightly more detailed explanation available on my blog, should you need it:

I'm really glad it helped! Thankfully it's really easy to fix, but you wouldn't think to look under 'Quality' to make pixel art look good...

When I render, it's a blurry mess again. In AE it looks fine. I scaled up in AE like you did in your Video. Can anyone give me advide please?

I just found out by myself. I had to set the the Render Settings to "Current Settings" in the Render Queue

Great vid! Not enough vids out there on how to use after effects with pixel art! Never thought to work in draft qaulity. Does that mean renders of pans will come out without blur too. If so...wow!

Yup! Pans will respect the pixel grid, rather than creating a smudged mess. Glad it was useful! A simple trick just hidden in Layer Quality, which you wouldn't expect...

Hello, would you help me ? I wanted to export my animation with the adobe enconder, but it looks horrible, and i don't know why, i try using mp4 format and the best quality options, but changes nothing. All my stuff just looks blurred how if my modifcations in the project to looks smooth but didn't change nothing.

Hiya! Are you perhaps scaling the video up in Adobe Encoder, and not in After Effects? For example, you make a composition of 320x240, but then using Encoder exporting it at 1920x1080? If so that will make it blurry. You'll need to scale up the composition in After Effects and apply the same Draft Layer settings. Hope that helps!

@@Tom2DForever Thank you!! It looks perfect now. How you said I just needed to scale my composition in After Effects, 1920x1080 and now it runs smooth 😊
