- Chuck and Blair have so many epic moments that I think this scene from Gossip Girl 3x12 "The Debarted" often gets overlooked.
First off, the music, M83 "Too Late" is extremely emotionally evocative. It's perfect for a moment like this.
Other things I love about this scene:
1) Blair's emotional support for Chuck. She just sits there beside him and quietly calms him through this panic attack. She lets him open up and doesn't push. She has matured so much at this point.
I don't care what anyone says, her relationship with Chuck brought out the best in her: When she rounds that corner it's almost like the hero is coming to save the day. She's heroic and empathic with Chuck in a way she isn't with anyone else.
2) Chuck asking how Serena is doing and making sure Eric and Lily are there. In early S3 Chuck is trying so hard to be a good brother, son and boyfriend.
3) Chuck finally opening up to Blair about his shame over how he handled Bart's death. I especially love him quietly admitting he was pushing Blair away. They are so close to one another in this scene. There's a powerful intimacy between them.
4) Blair perfectly understanding Chuck and his issues:
"I don't think you ran away because you couldn't handle death. I think you couldn't handle feelings"
5) Blair's tremendous encouragement:
"You're not like that anymore. You're strong.
You carry people. You carry me
You're becoming a man in a way your father never was"
6) THE HEAD KISS AND "THANK YOU" This is probably the most "teenage" boy Chuck ever is in the entire series. So sweet.

They should of got an award for the scene where Blair looses her virginity. That scene was INCREDIBLE

I almost cried. Blair walking to him sitting next to him and saying this beautiful inspiring words. This was the wisest most beautiful thing she have ever said
Beautifully written. The scene gets me teary everytime. So far I havn't seen a couple on tv more fit together than Chuck and Blair ❤️
They’re extremely toxic. Also chuck tried to rape Jenny and Serena so it’s a bit hard to want a character like that to be happy in love with anyone
@@katykins2010 They are perfect for each other. As for Chuck's actions in the pilot - a)he never attempted to force himself on any woman for the rest of the series; b)there's no mention on the show that he actually had raped anyone (which gives some room for doubt whether he actually would have gone through with those incidents even if he hadn't been interrupted); c) he genuinely regretted his actions in the pilot and apologized to Jenny. If you don't want to see Chuck's growth and evolution and all the good things he did over the course of the series it's your problem. It's extremely cruel to write off a person for the things they did at the age of 16.

@@katykins2010 Chuck's character was initially supposed to be the villain of the show and play a very different role. In the first few episodes of S1 Chuck uses transportation...lol and talks about his ALIVE mother - that's not Chuck. However the writers at that time noticed the potential for this character so they made changes and added more layers to it. The REAL chuck was born in 1/7. So there is a disconnect between who Chuck was SUPPOUSED TO BE as a character to the Chuck they recreated after. The incident with Jenny in S1 WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED if they recognized the potential earlier. So that's one thing to keep in mind when watching S1 as things like that sometimes happen in TV shows. (Blair's mother was also replaced by another actress in S1).
@@katykins2010 Since it was already aired the writers decided not to ignore it and even tried to fix it a few times (for example in 2/16 when he saves Lilly from Jack) and they made him and Serena siblings which is one of the cutest (and underrated) relationships in the show.
Both performances in this scene are sterling! If broadcast on any other channel, they would have been Emmy winners!
i want to find a man like Chuck. childish at times, but when needed, mature.
Dan and Blair were way more realistic and grounded of a couple. "Chair" was a silly lust-filled fantasy. Written to make young girls swoon.
You need help if you want a boy like him (not a man) he’s one of the most manipulative people on the show and caused a lot of pain and conflict. My wife has been abused by guys just like him in the past
