- Rarely seen Russian Voskhod Bocxoa Motorcycle
Voshkod is a Russian company that produced spacecraft and then later in the 60's they ventured into producing motorcycles and here we have found a 1995 example with barely 425km on the clocks. The Russians produced this for the luxury market and even listed it as opposition to Harley Davidson with a dual purpose for farm work. Evidence of this is the massive fins on the cylinder head for cooling at slower speeds, the totally enclosed final chain drive as well as the mud flap at the bottom of the rear mudguard. Ultimately a very very rare find here in South Africa and a unicorn motorcycle with an awesome story that we love sharing on Route 21 Garage

I had one in 1977 in the UK . They were sold as Cossacks . Had it for 2 years as my everyday bike . Learnt a lot of Mechanics on it . The gear box spring was a clock spring !! Great bit of fun an cheap to run and fix
Fajny ,ciekawy motocykl.
Warto taki mieć do rekreacyjnych przejażdżek.
Pozdrawiam.🇵🇱
Hi from Russia! Suddenly find this video 0_o ..) Thank you for your video !) I ll add some more info , may be someone ll be useful. SU had a few motycycle factories , they produced : ( most popular)
1) Minsk 125 inch ( now Bellorussian - just add a paintjob on chinesse moto)
2) Voshod 175 inch you have in this video Produced by a military factory - now do the same as Belorussian - add a paintjob on chinesse moto andn sell them.
3) Izh 350 inch ( sold factory to Turkey )
4) Dnepr 650-750 inch produced on Ukraine ( closed in 2012 )
5) Ural 750 - still prodcuing, but ... mostly from import parts and it cost alot.
and other i didnt mention, if interested - try wiki)
From myself i can say - it was a cheaper analogue to a car - not everyone can have a car in Su - but motocycle - almost everyone, so it can run in snow and cold pretty well. it must be simple and relible ( on practise only minsk was as i remember) - thats why engine was 2 stroke .
I happend to find one in a scrapyard, overhauled it with powder coat ,new fork tubes and new pirelli tyres...it doesn't go fast but hey...it s fun to ride. I also have a minsk but in a more....crude state.
I am currently building a working Bocxoa out of two. There are a couple more of these I might get my hands on. Hopefully get to start it tomorrow (thumbs!!)
I like it. And probably more reliable than a Harley. Which is also a farm tool in my opinion.
🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
@@raw2838 mkay, weird. I had a mz 250 and a jawa 350, and they were rudimentary but reliable. I guess then this bike only looks durable.
Восход это поднятие солнце над землёй или расвет. Восох 3м01 и Сова ,👍
hallo daar. I just found this vid. I bought the first one in Cape Town. (red one). It was still on show at the old Goodwood Showgrounds. Burned a hole in the piston twice. After the second time there was no agent in the country anymore and had it welded up. No internet that time to search for spares in other countries. No knowledge about two strokes to fix it later on and it just rusted away. Bought a green one with 300 km on the clock for R300 about 10 years later. Unregisterd as it was a farm bike. Owner said it has been to about every workshop in Cape Town but no one could get it started. I got it going by setting the ignition timing all the way to the right. some weeks later it stopped and I got it going by setting the timing all the way to the left. Evert time it stopped I had to set the timing to the other side. Eventually the crank seals went and I could not get others any where. So it just rusted away as well. Would love to get one again.
Sjoe, hectic experience with 2 of them and you would want another one…. How come if I may ask, after such headaches?
What an interesting presentation.... love this bike💃🎵🎶
Ah - a very cool bike and back ground! And the cherry on top - it's a SMOKER :)
Nothing beats those old two-strokers 😜
It was so cool seeing it in real life outside IMI. What an awesome machine.
Shot bud, and a real scream to ride 😵😜
So nice to see something so different and unique. Cant wait to see more!
That was real interesting guy I didn't know anything about that type of motorcycle color might need a way of a Honda 90 but better keep ringing on you stuff all the time I love your Channel India great job too
That you sooo much. Really glad you enjoying the channel and the content 🙏
I have a green 1 , found it in Bergville KZN
The model name is not Bocxoa. The logo says Восход . That is the kyrillic name of Voskhod. The model is the 3M.
Nope - the model is not 3M, but a 3M-1. And the difference you'll find in bhp and the reed valve in the later. Greetings from Norway.
Kovrov is the manufacturer I believe
Super video! 👌
What would a bike like this be worth? Where would I pick up something like this?
Thank you 🙏 It is really only worth what the collector is willing to pay. Since making the video I have had another one offered to me. Here in South Africa I would think maximum R30k which is about $1,5k but that would be complete running and in good condition. I do not know how many there are outside of Russia and the neighboring countries nor who exported them, also how they would have survived the past 25 years……
I have one of these machines! I am looking to restore it but I don't know where to begin. It is complete and running and in a somewhat good condition. Do you know of anyone that I can contact in regards to the process?
@@quentinposthumus8477 hi Quentin, are you in South Africa?
Yes...I assumed from your introduction to the video that you guys are too!
I would really like to make contact some time
@@quentinposthumus8477 yes from Jhb . Would love to see your bike and assist where I can
Me llamas la hatencion
In Russia we have a proverb about this motorcycles: Kupil Voshod - ebis ves god. Which means: When you purchased this bike, you will fuck with this bike throughout the year. About this particularly model i can say - it is rare here. Most common models named Voshod 2M and 3M have two exhaust pipes, and doesn't have reed valve. Main differences between 2M and 3M: 2M has 6 Volts electric system, 3M - 12V.
P.S. Sorry for crooked english, i'm doing my best :-)
Hi, thank you so much for your message 🙏 that is super interesting and funny 😁👍🏻 your english is Perfect compared to my Russian 🤣😂
Holy google translate helped me and showed the way :-) You're welcome, glad to help.
would not say
The 3M-1 has one exhaust pipe, a reed valve - and it is faster than the 3M. Greetings from Norway. (I have both 3M and 3M-1.).
@@LarsGTV6 3m01 is faster due to a modified engine with 5 channels, a petal valve is installed, and there is only one muffler, yes, it is faster
