One of the best podcasts ever! 2 hours flew by and I didn't even realize. I also love how he is so objective about all political parties and is not dogmatic in his views. This is what a Podcast should be like!

Wow.. this was really good.. The entire history of Lyari's gang war is so painful but its important for us to know the details. Thanks Waqas and Shehzad
just 2 hours with this guy is not enough we need more of Waqas Alam
Looking forward to it and btw just started the dr zoha waseem podcast.
Excellent podcast Shahzad and Waqas bhai. A refresher like this is appreciated, being from close neighborhood of Lyari myself, it was good to see all this discussed and presented to Karachi, especially our Gen Z....appreciated!
Thank you Shehzad for bringing these people and their stories to everyone. Through your platform, people will learn that history exists pul k is, us, har par
Its refreshing to see someone so young, yet so well informed. And to top it off objective, and yet a tv journalist. Shattering so many stereotypes together. Being an urdu speaking whose family comes from Bihar colony in Lyari, his stories have connected alot that i heard from my elders.
Are u Bihari?
Interesting to hear you and Waqas give appropriate credit for the contribution of Hindus and Parsi's in Karachi's development and infrastructure. Love from Singapore. Lovely podcast 👍

Hey Shehzad you are doing really great work !!! I am from india and love to listen your podcast… this episode with Waqas is really engaging and feels like it must go on and should not come to end… you are absolutely right it’s a Netflix series material🔥
Shehzad we need a podcast on Balochistans history and struggle with Pakistan and maybe a deeper look into how Baloch nationalism flourished in liyari
Sir please invite someone from Gilgit Baltistan ❤
I don’t know whether to cry or want more of these stories. I can’t believe I lived in the same city at this time and was insulated from all of this
Very true, as a Punjabi that grew up in Karachi I also get annoyed when my friends from Punjab ask me why people vote for someone like Altaf Hussain.
Sometimes I don't agree to your views but I love your podcasts and specifically this one. More power to you!
Thank you so much Shehzad.
First ever podcast I spent my two precious hours 😁 and listened to the whole conversation till end , amazing discussion and sharing of knowledge by Waqas, hats off to you birat , really enjoyed it especially the history of Pakistan legislations at the beginning and Lyari gangwar , though I'm also a Baloch from Lyari and admit the facts shared are true per my knowledge. Kudos 👌👍
Amazing...!! The entire podcast was superb
Thanks God finally I've found this podcast I have watched a clip on TikTok and wanted to watch full podcast but didn't know their names or channel name but here I am. 👏👏👏👏

Gregor Mendel? I think he meant Jogendranath Mandal, the first law minister of Pakistan.

Surprised by the amount of knowledge in this podcast. I would 100% listen to to this guy who's more involved on the ground rather than people like Paracha.
Informative podcast, thank you.
The only person you can listen to for 2 hours straight without yawning once, Waqas.

Very interesting! Im surprised i just stumbled upon, because much lie Waqas, TPE is the only podcast i follow. Shehzad you still have not done the road show as discussed in the end. That needs to happen!
🙌
Please do more Karachi gang stories. People who live overseas and GenZ have no clue violent Karachi was.
Proud of URDU speaking you can never hide your identity...no matter where you go respect our language same like we respect baloch sindhi etc...
Hello Shehzad it's Komal from India 🇮🇳 I have seen few of your videos and to my surprise for the first time I have seen a Pakistani talking facts and is not just ranting the old school things like hum musalman hai and stuff which I usually hear from a typical Pakistani portal. Although I like Pakistani culture and have started watching Pakistani podcast because of Pakistani drama's and one thing I must say Indians may be good at maths or many other things from Pakistani's but definitely Pakistanis have tehzeeb and polite way of talking which we Indians lack these days ! Love and respect from your HUMSAYA MULK Bharat! ❣️
Komal ji Modi ji ka pari ho kya??
Pakistani tehjeeb? Komal are u high
@@vipint3694 tehzeeb*
@@vipint3694 I'm definitely not High look around you bro the way we casually use curse words ( I'm talking about our generation) our parents generation didn't do that .
This use of curse words are not at all cool it's just sexist in origin and just show disrespect which we need to tackle ek limit hoti hai and I'm not saying ki humara culture kharab hai ofc not it's one of the best in the world but I was focusing on foul language that we use frequently. And Pakistani's don't do that and thats what I like about them they talk calmly and in a composite manner!!! Hope you understood what I meant
@@komalaseri9645 100%! my city Lucknow didn't succumb to this degeneracy for a long time but sadly, it has been seeping even here. Although the Lakhnawis still don't use "tu" even among the bestest of their friends.
However, things aren't that linear. Pakistani Punjabis embraced Urdu at the expense of their own language and culture. The over-romantisation of the culture which is actually Lakhnawi in nature has resulted in the modern gen of Punjabis looking down upon their own language and culture.
gangs of wasseypur director taking notes
Very interesting podcast 👍
I currently work in Lyari and loved the stories about streets i see every day now plz bring him for another episode on details about Lyari gang war.
As Urdu Speaking (or as resident of Karachi) these are the issues that we face, 'Harassments from Police', 'No Government Jobs due to quota system', 'Not accepted when we apply for Army', 'Called Indians', 'Bullied by feudal lords', 'Get robbed by non Karachi-ites' and many more. Our only option is to migrate 1 more time as our grandparents did.
Migrate to??
Ur language is national language of Pakistan what else is need
I think we should stop calling ourself urdu speaking - We are sindhi now - - born here - - our parents were born here too - - - Sooner we accept that better. Own Sindh, own this land and strive to improve this place.
@@usmanmuhammad5061 I call myself Pakistani Canadian :-) thanks for the advice though
How many times we migrate. There must be problem with us sometime we become champion of islam n left our ansustors land people, culture without realising local people of land has more right then you they have own language culture civilzation. Now time realise that son of soil have more right every where go to Malaysia Malaya race more right even in NZ local morie has more right even to the whites who rule the country with 80 percentage population.
most most interesting podcast amazing.good and very informative podcast that was.
Great Podcast, too much knowledge, Lyari has such heinous stories, always interested towards listening them...
PS: Waqar looks exactly like Shwetabh Gangwar from Mensutra.
Very well said “state policy to retain them, State policy to finish them” some up every thing.. very informative
Seriously next level efforts Maza aaya boht arsay bad ye batain suneen or Maza aaya start till end Yar Bhai kbhi koe contact ho tau Maza aajaye
Amazing podcast. One of the best .. i am always amazed that how different and disconnected each part of Karachi is with other. People only talk about the bridge divide(bridge kay is par or us par), but theres are alot more bubbles in the city. And people are living in their own bubble. A person living in NN, Fb area, Gulshan and Johar, (the biggest of bubbles) have no idea how life is inside Malir or Inside orangi, or baldia town, or Liyari, or saddar or Korangi. Each one has own perception of what city is, and what the reality is around them. (Hope you got my point, am not as eloquent with words like you guys)
Really interesting episode .
Listening to it for second time ❤️
Baloch ko sb se zaida naqsan PPP ne k Baloch ko Baloch se larya ppp ne
very interesting and informative .

thank you for a very interesting podcast with a Lyari guest who is also a journalist. My theory on the breakdown of law and order began when the large open air community football ground was walled off, turned into a football stadium. Lyari youth lost access, and then football stadium was ocupied by Rangers. If you get to read this, please ask at another opportunity.

I was only 9 years old. When Lyari gang war groups used to fight each other. And I saw many corpse in my street. I still remember one day me and my brother who was only 11 years old. My brother came out of the main gate of the house and I was behind him. It was around 8 pm. At the time when everyone were at home after closing their businesses. And at that time there was load shedding that suddenly a bullet just passed through my brother's chest. I quickly took his hand and took him inside. When we entered our house, the bombing started but Alhamdulillah we were safe that time.
❤️
Glad to hear that you and your brother were safe.
May Allah bless you more.

Informative
Superb
Just a comment as a Urdu speaker. Theres a general problem of percpetion of ethnic rural Sindhis in Karachi. Because due to PPPs allocation of all govt jobs to illiterate rural Sindhis, its not that that Sindhis are more corrupt, but whenever we see corruption we see an indifferent Sindhi sitting about, so mentally the two are linked together. Its not that a Karachiite (Urdu speaking, Urban Sindhi, Urban Punjabi) wont be corrupt sitting on those chairs (maybe less corruption), but since they arent seen there at all, people think only rural Sindhis are corrupt. PPP has managed to brand Sindhis as corrupt and illiterate.
