    This disorder is beyond explanation to those not suffering! I have believed any number of things that this disorder wants me to suffer from! And in the end I know it is OCD because it wants me to be/live a life that goes against my beliefs!

    I've never seen anyone explain OCD so well, and even in merely 3 minutes. Wow!

    This has been torturing me for years, the doubt was making me write essays to myself because of my existential uncertainty. This has all held me back in many ways.

    The uncertainty drives me insane! I say to my family I wish I had a truth box so when I pressed it, it would tell me the truth...

    I have had many obsessions in the past where uncertainty is at the core, but two of my main obsessions are 1) knowing (not uncertainty) that my possessions and home to have some minor impections that I know are irrelevant in my rational mind, and 2) being "ripped off" having to pay for something I shouldn't have or was erroneously overcharged for (when it actually happens, not the uncertainty that it may happen). I have compulsions connected to both of these obsessions. Neither have anything to do with uncertainty. Yet my mother sees Jonathan Grayson say this and thinks this neat little phrase completely describes OCD to its core. It's a large part of OCD, but having obsessions and compulsions can be about ideas other than uncertainty.

    Smart guy.
    Yep, acctually realising all you are talking about just this days ago.
    Everything you do "just to feel better", every bit of going over it "to make sure", every conversation or googling just in case, everything you DO because of it its a compulsion.
    Compulsion-->solving--->not accepting
    Not fighting back--->accepting--->eventually(hopefully) learning to live with those fears without making your live misserable.
    DISCLAIMER: I dont mean "dont do anything." At all, Im not a therapist. Im just saying that, once you understand well your triggers and your fears and you learn not to belive your thoughts and feelings just because you have them, in the end for me it comes down to accepting those feelings and emotions and no more than that.
    DOESNT MEAN WHAT YOU THINK OR FEEL IS REAL. Its real now you feel that way and you have those thoughts.
    With this, at least for me, fear takes its place: next to you, telling you whats important for you, what you are scared of losing, what gives purpose to your life...with or without crippling panic attacks.
    Good luck guys, you are not alone. Speak with somebody you love for a bit once a day, even online. It helps me a lot :)❤❤❤
