Me too, i was grinning ear to ear when the filmed started, took me back to a time when things were less complicated.
I was thinking the same thing, I loved it! The original Top Gun has always been a favorite for me and this may of topped it.

What a fantastic review. Rich is right. It transports you to a time of early cinema. It is a love letter to cinema. Cruise has achieved something remarkable.

A proper return to the summer blockbuster. Best "traditional" action flick I've seen since the late 90's

I'm so happy this movie is universally loved.. It truly is the best movie I've ever watched in theaters easily.. I believe this is going to be this decades defining movie.. Tom Cruise single handedly brought back the summer block buster, and destroyed the woke, cringe-fest that has plagued movies for the better part of 10 years now..
Stop. This movie had nothing to do with politics. Let it be the spectacular film it was. Please don’t join the right wing clowns trying to spin this into their agenda.
The movie is great. There's no political lecturing and the flying scenes are cool. Forget about woke stuff. Enjoy movies
Tom Cruise rarely misses. He's been one of the most consistent movie stars of the past decade. So entertaining.
Him and Brad Pitt.. never make a bad movie.... there are no ' i bought a zoo' or ' stop or my mom will shoot'.... even Tom Hanks does a lot of really unentertaining movies..
He is literally in the same Type of movie every time

I went to the UK premiere at 00:05am this morning and I haven't stopped smiling since! What an incredible film. I won't give away any spoilers but it's so much more than I had ever imagined! Just wow! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The ending was a bit over the top
1st movie I've been to in a looong time that when it ended everyone was clapping... Even my 11 yr old son. He leaned over towards the end and whispered " dad, this is one of the best movies I have ever seen". Now he and all our neighborhood kids have call signs lol. Incredible movie can't wait to watch it again.
Absolutely incredible movie. It makes you laugh, makes you tear up, makes you clench your b-hole. It's so well-shot, the music is great, the characters are great. It's just got everything.

Saw it at an early access IMAX event. This movie is a thrill ride. Funny, emotional, roller coaster. I can't wait to watch it again.
I am relieved that Danger Zone is in the film. Cannot wait to see it with my folks! My dad is a huge fan of the original Top Gun.
Literally 95% of Gen X is a fan of the original --- it defined our generation

The fact the intro is literally a redo of the original is incredible lol
They use DZ throughout the score if you listen closely. They pitch it lower and slow it down.

It was a movie I watched with my dad as well in '87 when I was 8.
I think this movie will bond lots of boys with dads.

I seen this movie at a special showing Tuesday at 7:00pm. In Imax....theater was packed & everyone clapped. This movie was excellent. Going to see it again...
I laughed, I cried, I was blown away by this movie. Couldn’t ask for a better sequel to an absolute classic.
Top Gun Maverick is the best 80s film of all time
No agenda just pure entertainment from the master I know Tom gets alot of hate ,but he loves to make movies that entertain us , he doesn't cheat you he does most stunt work himself for our entertainment, Hollywood and us will only really appreciate him when he's retired .
He may be crazy, but I love Tom Cruise. He is a phenomenal actor.

I'm so happy to hear that Kenny Loggins is back with Danger Zone. That song belongs in any Top Gun movie. I can't believe it's been 36 years.
I love Danger Zone
I thought that it was a tall task to make a sequel that would be worthy of such an iconic film. Rarely does a sequel measure up to the original. This movie delivered. Not only was it as good but, in my mind, it was even better. Simply breathtaking. I ended up seeing it twice and enjoyed just as much the second time. May even see it again in the theater.
It was without a doubt better than the original... Maybe doesn't have as memorable a soundtrack but everything else was superior
@@uncommon8896 Actually I didn’t think about that. Come to think of it, the cool thing is that all they have to do is insert ‘ highway to the danger zone’ by Kenny Loggins and we are all as happy as can be about that. Adds to the experience in my estimation.
Not many sequels can outperform the original movie, I certainly hope this is a rare exception.
Top Gun Maverick might be Tom's best movie in his spectacular career. It's time to buzz the tower.

The original is 100× better and more realistic . This one seemed a bit more like mission impossible as far as the action where as the original was more believable. That aside it was awesome! Last scene was a bit off and they added a terrible ending song but overall a must see! Great job! Mostly

Saw a uk preview screening last night. He’s right. It’s incredible. I had high expectations and it surpassed them all. Not just stunning flying scenes, but a decent script too. Already booked for next week when it officially opens.
It's like Tom hit the brakes, and we all flew right by him!

Danger Zone.......the best opening song for movies such as these...
Everyone else is excited about “Danger Zone” being in this I’d be more stoked if Cheap Trick’s “Mighty Wings” made an appearance!

I watched this movie yesterday, I was so afraid that it would be all the hype so I tried to not expect anything from this movie. This movie happened to be the best movie I watch this year, no!!! perhaps it is one of the best movie I ever watch, plus because it is the emotional attachment added up even more.
I am so happy. I saw the original. Every time Hollywood tries to mine old IPs they gender flip or race switch characters and woke the script. Always cringe at it. So glad this is different. Must be Tom Cruise.

The cast is diverse but it’s not woke at all. Everyone contributes and everyone is valued. It’s a true TEAM. It was great to see. This is how you do representation.

1986 I was fresh out of Navy bootcamp RTC Orlando when #1 came out. A bunch of us went and left the theater all pumped up thinking….yea, that’s us! We get to live this! All the other theater go’ers admiring us in our summer whites. 5 haze grey and underway years later it lost a lot of its shine. 😂. A cheesy movie but fond memories none the less. I’ll watch the new one eventually but not rushing out to see it.
It never fails how many people I met over the years who thought the Navy would be an adventure but it turned out more like a prison sentence --- makes me very grateful I never signed up
The original was cheesy back then but still we loved it. The years passed and the movie is still the same, but it's your brain matures. Tom has matured too. Hopefully the new one reaches mature audiences too. I'm 72 and really want to feel about this one the way I felt about #1

Tom cruise and his production company and the director kill it!!!! Nothing less than 8/10. You really have to go see it in theaters because the sound effects alone is worth going there to see it.

A lot of people I talk to say this is a boomer movie... Im barely 30 and I've waited 2 years for this. Sometimes you see a trailer and you just KNOW. This movie sounds like it will be everything we expected
Not really a Boomer movie, maybe GenX... GenX was mostly in HS or college when Top Gun came out. Boomers would have been 40+ at the time.
@@PeterSedesse Well it was my parents honeymoon movie and technically they where still boomers, since the cutoff was 1964 (my mother birthyear) (my father is two years older) she was 22 at the time
